Most likely, yes. If it were really a matter pertaining to Revenue Canada, you'd probably be receiving something about it by mail, rather than a random call. If possible, leave the number alone entirely to tire the caller out.

I received a call from this number today too! They claimed to be the CRA and left me a threatening voicemail that I was suspected of tax fraud. 'Tis the season... While I was tempted to call back and see where this would go, I think leaving it alone is a good idea.

Yes - my friend got a call from this number and the message said they were Officer Ryan Smith from Canada Revenue Agency and the he or his lawyer should phone him back immediately.
Having worked for the Federal Government, I can tell you that no one would phone and identify themselves as "Officer Ryan Smith"

I had the same experience this early morning. The man who had Indian accent was claiming from Revenue Canada called and threatened that next time their lawyer will call. It was really annoying. Especially it was dangerous to my father in-law who had open heart surgery to handle this type of stresses. I called them twice. First I asked them some challenging questions to verify their identity and call was cut off by him. Again I called and I ensured that this call was scam because the fake agent didn't even know the gender of the person who was accused and my second call got cut off again by him.
I wish I could retaliate their harassment somehow.

Yes, it is. Never ever entertain a call from this number. CRA would never threaten you to pay off your debt. CRA would always communicate with mail not over the phone.

Yes, same number, they called twice this morning, automated robotic message. [***]! I do have an official despute on record with CRA, but they are still reviewing my latest submissions. Never received a letter with regards to final decision or debt collection. However, the CRA must have my information available in some public viewing database; or else it's an inside job and someone is selling this info to these scums to use as scare tactics to scam people.

Just got the same call. I called him back asking for his better business bureau # and he hung up on me.  Seriously is there not something legally we can do to stop this nonsense??

I had the same message - same name as in other replies.  I will just ignore it as I have had a conversation with this guy before and he hung up on me when I said I would contact Revenue Canada directly - not some random guy who calls.

We just got the call too. A ryan smith saying he works at revenu canada. Guy was an ass on the phone. Said he would send the rcpm to pick me up
