Revenu Canada threading me for tax fraud

I was left three threatening messages today from this number claiming to be the CRA and telling me I was going to have a lien put on my account and that a bill collector would visit me tomorrow to collect paperwork. Very scary. I called CRA and they told me this was a scammer. Will be reporting it to to www.antifraudcentre.ca.

me too...got this call at noon on my answering machine.. Very unnerving.. Angry voice.. Bad for this senior!

Just received this call from Indian Accent Ryan Smith, said I was suspected of fraud (I because I picked up, there was no information on who he was really calling), said that I should not try to ignore the message. Extremely aggressive tone of voice, illogical name given (Ryan Smith? Really?) and did not say the CRA name in full). So glad I picked up and not any of my parents.

Caller phoned three times and finally left voice mail. There's tax fraud needs to be rectified immediately. Asked us to call him back or have our lawyer call him back immediately at this number.  Must be a scam, so annoying.

They called but recording began middle both times.  Didn't claim to be from CRA, instead said my name had come up in law suit and I would only have myself to blame if further action was taken.  Didn't name lawyer, or police department or notify me of charge.  Obviously this scammed must have flunked high school

I received the exact message, informing me not to disregard the call or I can get my lawyer to call. Left two messages for me, one in morning & one after 5.30pm.  The  5.30pm call really got my attention. I knew the CRA will not call at that time. I knew that it definitely a scam.

This happened to me today and scared me and terrified my little boy that his mom was going to be arrested. As officer CRA Officer Ryan Smith said and his "supervisor". Unfortunately, I was an emotional victim of their non-sense and so was my poor little boy. NOW I AM ENRAGED!!! I caught on a bit late but not late enough to get me to buy their "iTunes" gift cards. Seriously, "iTunes" gift cards to pay off what they claimed I owed? I then told them I was calling my lawyer and hung up. They called me from another number from Masset, BC, claiming they were RCMP. Mind you I had already called and reported their harassing call to the RCMP and was in middle of calling my local RCMP detachment. The number they called from was 1-250-626-3991 which when I searched this, it came up as the RCMP, can these guys disguise their real numbers or do they have a mold working for them at that RCMP #? This was surprising.

I doubt they have a mole at RCMP; they were impersonating the RCMP and spoofed the number.
Their criminal goal is to scare you into cooperating with their attempt to get money from you, first by impersonating the CRA, next the RCMP. Their criminal minds think that as they have successfully scared you, all they have to do is keep scaring you until you give up and send them money.

'Officer' Ryan Smith called allegedly from CRA with a nasty, threatening tone, suggesting there was tax fraud in my 'tax papers' and  I should call him or have my lawyer call.

Thanks William. I did hang up from that 1-250-626-3991 number as the man who said "this is the RCMP" clearly had an East Indian accent who was trying to disguise it. He called 2 more times from that number and I rejected the calls several times as I was in the middle of calling the real local RCMP. The did not know where I lived and I recognized that number was no where near I live. Anyway. I AM STILL ENRAGED! They terrified my son and I have post-traumatic stress from the whole situation. Them terrifying my little boy in that way, ENRAGES ME!

Allison, that Ryan Smith is an lying ass! Call the RCMP and have the RCMP call them back from your number. That is what I suggest to try to catch that ass!

Same as all the above. Saying he was from Revenue Canada in message. My husband called back and the guy hung up on him. SCAM!!!

This person i calling to tell me there is a warrant for my arrest from revenue canada

got a call from 1 855 888 5923 said they were from cra and that I should call right away about a suspected fraud and talk to ryan smith or james Wilson. called my accountant and he told me its a scam and to report it to the real CRA so they now have this number and both names hopefully they will do something about these [***]

I always missed these calls and really want to give him a piece of my mind...

I received the same call.  I had about an hour to kill while the kids were napping and I was prepping dinner. I called them back about 8 times to let them know that they were committing fraud and that they were awful people.  He was getting so annoyed with me.  I figured I would waste as much of their time as possible since they really can't be stopped.

Same tax scam call. Threaten send collector. Cra ... never as due process.

The people are are using this number to repeatedly harass people should be in jail.

I got a call too from that same person:  Officer Ryan Smith from Revenue Canada.  It seemed to be a voice message. He was talking about a lawyer who would contact me and would take charge against me if I would not call him back as soon as possible.  It was a very weird, intimidating and harassing call.  I have to mention that I have no debts with Revenue Canada and I am on good terms with them.
