Just got a call from Officer Ryan Smith saying he was from Revenue of Canada.  Message he left on the answering machine was that we were being convicted of fraud.  There were several factors in the message that we knew was a scam........The scammer left the message in very poor English, and our household language is French as is our message on the answering machine.  Also today is St. Jean Baptiste day here in Quebec and everything is closed....including Rev. Canada. We are smart enough to know this is a scam, but feel badly for the people that get caught up on this.  Get a real job A**Hole !!!!.

Officer Ryan Schmitt called saying l owed out standing taxes

This IS a SCAM.Rang them and had some fun!They kept putting the phone down when I said the call was being traced or the Police were involved.

Told me to call then back as there is suspected fraud on my taxes... This is impossible as we have an accountant for over twenty years

Got a message from the now infamous Mr Ryan Smith (who speaks with a thick Indian or Pakistani accent) suggesting I or my lawyer needed to call his direct line asap as there is fraud on my tax papers (who at the CRA calls it "tax papers"?) anyway I'm sure it's a scam and wish there was a way to make this slime ball pay for all this trouble he's causing.  Get a real job A******!!!

This is a robo call fraud issue...CRA would NEVER call you and leave a message like this...two calls today alone, and at least 5 others over the past week...don't bother even answering...report to do not call list and put the number beside your phone on a list to not answer....

My father in law received two phone calls from this "Ryan Smith" guy today. His voice was threatening and said that his calls should not be ignored and that either my father in law or his lawyer should call him back. Such a scam! The government of Canada would never leave threatening voicemails on people's answering machines. They're more of a sending subtly threatening letters kind of group lol. Don't give this guy any info!!!

Got a call from detective Ryan smith from Canada revenue agency stating a tax fraud on my income tax papers. Has an East Indian accent. Did not use my name but instead used "you"; is this a scam?

This is similar to the IRS scam taking place here in the US. In fact my mother and childhood friend received these calls. I am positive you could give these telemaggoters any given name (Ronald McDonald for example) and they will claim you owe backed taxes.

It is definately a scam.

Laughable. Not many guys with heavy east Indian accents are named "Ryan Smith." What a failure of the telephone services we pay for that they cannot address these constant nuisance calls. They just don't give a crap. My husband is going to call him up in a Chinese accent and then switch to an Italian accent, followed by a Scottish accent, etc. He's good at accents. Should be worth a laugh...

I also got a call from a Ryan Smith (855-888-5923) claiming he was with CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) - Total scam.

A low life trying to scam people with CRA intimidation...Indian accent using the name Officer Ryan Smith...there is your first clue.

I knew it was a scam right away I let him leave  message and then played it back.ryan Smith??the guy could hardly speak English.i don't think so.
