Scam. It's TWC number that is being SPOOFED. You people claiming it's TWC don't know what you are talking about.

Caller has called at midnight and weekends AFTER 9PM in my timezone.

Filing a complaint with FCC so SOMEONE will stop this crap from happenning.

Calls from this number are SCAMS and in no way associated with Time Warner Cable. It's an attempt to have you verify personal information and to verify that the number called is a valid number so they can keep calling until you answer. Do not give them any information. Better yet, if you can, block the number. If you have a service called YouMail you can have the number logged as "Ditch" where it plays them a. User specified recorded message without giving them an opportunity to leave a message before hanging up. My favorite ditch message for this type of call is a recording that sounds like it comes from my carrier stating that the number called has been disconnected. They quit calling after receiving the ditch message a couple of times. You should request that your number be placed on the do not call list with the federal government  Finally you should file a complaint with the FCC and FTC.

They also use the numberd 855-891-5606 and 855-891-5607 claiming to be from other companies that they are not.

My internet went out last night, sent in a request for support, they couldnt fix it. They scheduled an appointment, but when I woke up it was already magixally fixed and this number had called.THIS NUMBER WILL CALL YOU TO TELL YOU YOUR SERVICES MAY HAVE BEEN FIXED. THE PEOPLE HERE ARE MOROOOOOOOOOONS.

So who do we believe??  The several people who claim it is NOT Time Warner - or you - who just happened to find the site of complaints & scams???  How could you send in a request of your internet was out??  Just wondering!

It IS from Time Warner.  I just called the number back. It is in response to call tickets that you have for internet/cable/telephone service.  All I had to do was give them the telephone number associated with my account and he pulled up all of the information from the call that I made to TWC 2 days ago.  

It is their attempt to cancel out a ticket for a technician to come out by telling you that your problem has been fixed remotely.  Keep the appointment.  They cancelled a service appointment 3 months ago saying the problem was resolved remotely when nothing was actually fixed.  The problem just keeps getting worse.  I had a technician out 3 months ago who found a physical cable installation problem and there is no way possible that it can be fixed "remotely".  The very next day, the yahoos at this number cancelled the maintenance ticket that the tech put in because they fixed it "remotely".  Again, KEEP YOUR APPOINTMENT and let a physical technician verify whether it has been fixed or not.

This number called barely after 8am. I didn't recognize it and it only said "Toll Free Caller" on my caller ID. I looked the number up and see that it is a call from Time Warner Cable for an event reminder. Probably legit considering we were just on the phone two days ago with TWC to set up an appointment for a tech to come out next week. I would like to say tho...if TWC wants people to answer their calls, they need to have their business name show up on caller ID. With all the scams out there these days, it has become standard practice to NOT answer a call if it's unknown, toll free, etc.

Have received 2 calls from this number...one at 8pm last night and one at 8am this morning. I called Timewarner last night to report a problem and set up a service call.  A couple hours later my husband resolved the problem and we cancelled the appointment with their automated system.  I haven't answered the call... Nor do I plan to... But the timing is perfect for it to be TWC.  My first call came in after I cancelled the appointment..... Seems like they could assume I cancelled for good reason and " close the ticket" if that is in fact what they are calling about.  I agree with others... TWC needs to get a clue... Have their company name come up when calling!

I received two calls from this number, 855-891-5608, stating they were time warner cable and something about my cable problem.  Could not understand the person.  I called the number back and some guy answered claiming to be time warner cable.  Nope, checked them out and they were not Time warner

Shortly after I called TW about problematic internet and having an appointment set up for the next day for a technician to come, I got a call from this number.

When I answered it sounded like a room full of talking people and no one responded.  Then finally someone talked and it seemed like they wanted to check whether the problem was solved with the goal of cancelling the appointment and saving TW some money.  They did know the time of the appointment so it seems like they are working for TW.

I just said it's still having problems and I have an appointment and want to keep it and they said OK thank you goodbye.

They called and left a voicemail 1/29/15 at 11:15 a.m. stating they were TWC and calling about a service call I had placed.  
I have not had any service calls placed to TWC.  I will consider this a scam.

With the conflicting stories, someone could be spoofing their number as a caller ID#.  If you haven't called TWC for service, it's probably a scam.  If you have called TWC for service, it might not be.
Either way, if you decide to call back, call the registered TWC 800 number, not the one in the voicemail.

I've been getting numerous spam calls in the past 2 weeks since I updated my resume on Monster.  Food for thought.

It is Time Warner Cable, and you probably have a service request in to them. They are trying to fix your box remotely so they do not have to send someone out to your house.  For me, they made it worse, messed with it constantly.  I called TWC and expressed my displeasure with this whole procedure.  As also posted, the gentleman that called me was foreign, and did not understand too much of what I was trying to suggest to him and his remote "fix" on Super Bowl Sunday.  

This was Time Warner. We have an appointment with a tech today, the foreign accent on the other end told me that my problem was fixed. I told her that it's not and we need a tech out here. He's keeping the appointment. All these remote repairs drive me crazy.

I got a call- did not answer but i dont have a home computer or cable so how can it be time warner?  Js

I have gotten several hang up calls from this number in the past 2 days. My phone only rings once. They leave no message. I have heard of scams where they do this in hopes you will call the number back.

I found this information on the FCC website.... "The FCC has recently learned of a new phone scam targeting wireless consumers. Some wireless consumers are receiving calls from phone numbers with three-digit area codes that appear to be domestic, but are actually associated with international pay-per-call phone numbers.  These calls often disconnect after one ring, not giving the consumer time to answer the call and tempting them to return the call.  If you receive a call like this and do not recognize the number of the incoming call, do not return the call."

I was told it was my final notice before the IRS brings suit against me!  HA ha- never had any previous calls before the "final"!

IT is Time Warner, comes up as Time Warner on my caller id, Its also the number their customer support give you to call their Tech Support.

I no longer have TWC, and haven't quite a while.  Can't imagine having scheduled a tech to come fix a problem for a service I no longer have.  I did not call back, so I can't confirm or deny that it is TWC.  Sounded like a robocall though, not a real person.

This number is a SCAM!!! I had called TWC about an issue I was having and set up for a tech to come and fix the issue. Then an hour later, this number calls. I don't answer. They call back immediately. I answer this time. A man with a heavy accent starts talking and tells me he is with TWC. I don't believe him. He tries to get me to do things with my tv. I lie and tell him that I am not at home. He says he will call back later. I tell him I won't be home later and that I will just deal with the tech when they arrive. He starts to stutter and stammer. So I hang up. I call all the TWC numbers that I can find. All of them start off by asking you for the number related to the account. I call back the fake number that called me, and now a women answers and she says she is with TWC. Funny how all the real numbers send you through a bunch of questions verifying who you are and what your issue is, but this number some random person answers. I have since blocked the number. Do not give these people any information. Hang up and block their number! They will keep calling and harass you.
