Have been dealing with TWC yesterday about trouble with new install. This is the number used by TWC for repair and appointments however, some of the customer service people they hire should able to speak English better, as they are hard to understand if at all!

I kept getting phone calls from this number. Saying it's Time Warner cable and now Spectrum about my technician visiting. I don't have Time Warner Cable

4/10//17 Time Warner Cable AKA NOW (Spectrum) Called with a service reminder for a service call. It came in & caller Id indicated Toll Free Call. It was a a good call. I did not get the name they used at the message beginning I guess it was the department name. They were reminding me of tomorrow's service call and indicated they would call back tomorrow morning to remind us again of the appointment time and requirements for someone 18 yrs or older must be available to allow the tech in.

It was TWC. I didn't not answer the call (2x) and no messages were left. I googled the phone # and read the above comments. However, yesterday I made an apt with TWC so I called the # back. They knew my issues and how many TV's I had reported the issue with. They knew the appt time I had made for tomorrow so I'm confident they were legit. Yes, they were of foreign descent but most call centers are,

This is a scam.  Called spectrum and they said no one called us..
When I called this number back and asked a bunch of questions, they had no idea what was going on.

I had the same issue.  We reported them to FCC.  Super shady they know we have an appointment coming up.  Spectrum needs to check their security..

Got a recorded message from this phone number claiming to be TWC and that a technician will arrive at my house.  I don't even have a TWC account.  Beware!

Called saying they were Comcast and knew my outage and apt information. Asked for my name, address, last 4 SS# digits and said they would try to fix my problem over the phone

Why would they need your SS# to fix a problem?  They should have already had your name and address if they called you and knew your apt. number.

I seem to be getting legitimate calls from this number as I had a cable box issue with Comcast--and that's when the calls started.  But, I can easily see how this number could be spoofed.

With that said, Comcast seems to be going out of its way to make the calls from this number appear suspicious.  The caller ID shows only "800 Service."  The message left is by a non-human robot voice.  And this also seems to be from a 3rd party contractor, as the posts for this number are fairly evenly split between Comcast & TWC (Spectrum) making the calls.  There is no corporate connection between the two cable companies.

I'm ignoring the calls.  I already got a text from Comcast confirming the arrival time for the tech that I set up yesterday calling the number on my Comcast statement.

What kind of legitimate comoany doesn't identify themselves when leaving a message? That lack says not a legitimate call to me.

exactly the same thing happened to me tonight. Opened a ticket with Xfinity who has scheduled a visit to my home and they called to say it was all ok.  I told them I dont know who you are, but it was a call center in India by the callers accent and the chatter in the background.  They seemed to know all about by name, account details, address and ticket but I insisted on keeping the appointment and not giving answers to any other questions as a measure of caution.
