I have moved to Southern California, so have a new phone number. I have had dozens of phone calls over the last four months from 855-984-1090, with recorded messages saying to call back...and identifying as Amshare Collection Agency. I want to know how to get the calls to be blocked. I get them very early in the morning and late at night. I have an excellent credit rating and owe nothing to anybody.

Please be sure and read big A's post on page 1 also.  When you get a new number, its usually someone else's old number and will bring with all its problems sadly! So follow the steps in what you need to know below and send them a cease & desist letter ala USPS certified or return receipt mail.   The other step you can take is to purchase a call blocking device (these are best) or phone - generally around $40.00.  Here is there information and also the other info so you can make them stop.

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.

    Some Tips:
    *Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time, date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

    Hello, shill.
Did they send you proof of the debt by US Mail?
    What was their business address?
How did you pay that debt?
Did you mail them a check or money order? What was the mailing address?
Did you pay by Western Union?
Did you pay by a prepaid debit card?

So let us see, you received a call, they identified themselves, you completed the transaction and were happy with it.  So then you decided to look up the number and reply to a post from last year telling everyone how great this company is.  You did that on a site dedicated to exposing scams.  Now why would you do that?  Why would you look up a number if you knew who it belonged to?
Possibly because your boss paid you to make that post?
By the way, you will find all your bosses information posted on the second page so that everyone that comes here knows where to send the FDCPA lawsuit papers.

I received my first-ever call from Amsher today; they left a robo-voice mail message around 10am stating the company name and that they were calling about a debt. I have had this phone number for well over ten years and have literally zero reason to be contacted by a collection agency. While my inclination was to ignore them I actually attempted to call back, but received a recording stating I'd reached them after hours/all agents were busy and to leave a message. Then I got another message stating their voice mailbox was full. If they are a legitimate business they should take incoming calls as late as they are legally permitted to make them (9pm, per their website: http://www.amsher.com/). I will not be responding to them again. THEY can figure out they're calling the wrong number.

They will call anyone with the same last name as the person they are looking for.  Read both mine and Tamianth's posts above.  They tell you everything you need to know.  Send them a certified, return receipt cease and desist letter telling them that they are call the wrong person.  just letting them keep calling will tell them nothing since they all use robocallers and a computer can't figure that out.

    My review
I looked up this number and saw these comments. I missed the call on purpose saw these comments and called back. Told her not to call me. She said what's the number and my name I told her my number then said don't call her again. Do NOT call me. She said "ok ma'am have a n...." I hung up on her. I regret saying my number cause she should have known what it is....I hope I don't get anymore calls :/

Caller calls and hangs up, doesn't leave a message. Have only had this number for 2 weeks and this caller has called several times. I registered my new phone Number on the Do Not Call List less than 10 minutes after I got this phone. If this is a collection agency as some have stated, sorry I'm not going to pay off the debts of some person I don't know and never met no matter how often you call me.

I just got a new phone, with a new number, and keep getting robo calls from this phone number. I hang up on it because it takes forever to connect so I don;t really know who it is. But if it is a collection agency then they have the wrong person!

Doesn't matter if you're behind or if you have debt from 25 years ago. They figure you're dumb enough to cut a check to them. I have collectors trying to collect a debt from 1990 and the Company that I paid and they claim I owe the debt has went bankrupt and closed down in 96. It's amazing how far these scam artist will go. This in terrorism at it's best and there is no protection for anyone.
