Just received a call from this number. No message left. Caller ID says "ASSIST'. I called back. I got a recorded loop: "Hello and thank you for calling. If you want to be placed on a 'Do Not Call List from the number that called, please press 1 now'.

Just a suggestion to anyone not familiar with modern smartphone blocking software. You can set your software to pick up and hang up any number you program, such as the scam bags that are referenced in this thread. Once a number is entered into blocking software (blacklisted) you are never bothered by them again. Why? Because your phone doesn't ring. I use Call Control on android has been flawless at screening this crap for years. Also, can set to always block ANY calls from unlisted numbers, 800 numbers, blocked caller id numbers, etc.

i get these calls on my business cell phone.  I don't answer, and look the number up afterwards.  Then I use the block call option for the number.

A robot left a message saying that our business qualifies for a $250,000 Dollar "Cash Advance" or Press 2 to have another Scammer call you next time. About 3 Months ago it was goobers from the mostly the North East wanting me to invest money on the basis of their idiot call? Really?? Now we get calls from Loan Pimps. I guess some are legitimate, but who borrows a quarter million in a phone call from an outfit you never heard of?  My guess, many are trying to Scam you out of an application fee. Call me a cynic, but it would appear many of those in society's  Lowest Common Denominator, who choose to actually work, seem to collect in Boiler Rooms. I would rather be a greeter at Walmart. At least there you don't have to try and trick people- just say hello. But I don't think these Turkeys would call me at Walmart.

They try to reach our home number but we do not answer unknown callers.

Again, they are calling during meal hours with no care in the world okay.

Will report them to the DNCL in Canada as a fraudster with no cause okay.

For god's sake do not call back or press 1 for no call listing. Don't be stupid, you have just let them know there is a live phone number in their listing. Report the complaints to https://complaints.donotcall.gov

I am already on do not call list, still receiving calls.

Want to make a million?  Invent a way that when you press  on your phone it sends a signal back to the callers location and blows the whole goddam building to pieces.

I would settle for a button..
- That fries their phone system.
- Instantly sends all their information direct to the proper authorities.
or a personal favorite..
- Fires the ever popular ACME boxing glove straight out of the receiver.
Blowing a building up places too many innocents at risk.

I get a phone call every day from this number

Have received several calls but thanks to this web page did not answer any.  The caller ID (CID) stated that the caller was named Assist.  They are so ashamed of themselves that they spoof their true identity.  I never pick up the phone for spoofed names/numbers.  I will place the "Assist" number in my call blocker that will null them out forever.

Recorded calls offering a business loan. Has called every day for almost a week.

These are annoying telemarketers.  Best way to handle them is, if your phone has a call blocking feature, use it.  I do and it has reduced the number of annoying calls by about 90%

got a call from 856-229-0988 just minutes after I had left someone a message, so I quickly picked up, total silence on the other end, not even a recording or noises, and I had only answered without looking at my cell phone screen. keep getting these kinds of calls from different parts of the country, and I usually let them go to message, urrgh, now someone knows there is a live voice on my cell. sorry I was so quick to answer.
seems to be no way to stop these. I definitely would never speak to anyone or even respond by pressing "one" as some other people have tried to do. just another nuisance call.

After about a 20 second wait, an automated voice came on and said my business was pre-approved for a loan of up to $250,000.

"I am still getting calls from these same people I told to stop calling or pressed 1,5 or 9 for them to stop calling years ago."
