- OklahomaGalLet me give you the definitive answer on this number. It is, indeed, Citibank. However, it is simply an autodialer that calls and calls you until you become so annoyed that you call the number back to complain. You will then get to talk to a human, who will start by asking your account number, which you will not want to give because you aren't sure if it's legit. I eventually got enough information from the woman who answered ("Debbie") that I determined that it was, indeed, really Citibank wanting me to resolve an issue with my CitiCard. It's basically a legal form of harassment [Note to self: double-check Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to see if they can really start calling at 8 am and call every hour thereafter]. You might as well call them back, they won't stop until you do. They only called once after I made the payment arrangement with them ... but tomorrow is another day. We'll see what happens.

- Wendkeeps calling, never answers, no messages.
I call the phone companies and they won't do anything, not even keep a list.
Think some of our phone taxes should go to protection?
More people should demand it from our phone companies, since they profit from the phone accounts they give, so they assist criminals.
Should be simple, the phone companies could easily keep a phone data base and when enough people complain about a number the police check it out. They want to say, oh well, they're persistent, so what, the policing should be too, and eventually we'll have more of these guys in jail for fraud!- Caller: Kentucky call
- indebtait comes up as Kentucky. if it was a citi bank. then y are they calling us when we have no account with them & they say we do. we never banked or had a credit card with them. i take it as a scam

- NicoleKeep getting calls from this number daily and they hang up when I answer phone. Never leave a message, but keep calling hourly. Very annoying!
- JeanbeanI had been getting some calls from this number recently. I called it back and it said it was citicards and I asked them to put me on their do not call list. He told me it was in regards to a specific card and he gave me the last 4 numbers. He asked my name and I gave it. I then asked what it was in regards to and he said he needed to authorize with my security info. I told him I was not comfortable since they had called me and he told me I could call them direct. I did call citi direct and come to find out my last payment didn't get processed because they had my banking information wrong. So it seems that the number was legit but I still felt more comfortable call myself.
- Annoyed in AlabamaVoice message was vague, asked us to call back and have our Citibank credit card ready. The only problem is WE DON'T HAVE a Citibank credit card. It was puzzling, because perhaps a bank could be bought out by or mortgage assumed by Citibank. We called as directed and the person answering the call was very vague and wouldn't give any information, only wanted all our information. My wife finally told him she wanted to stop giving information to him and ended the call.

- Bob SagetGuys,
Yes this was Citi Bank. I do have a Citi Card but not associated with the number they were calling - they were calling my work.
I kept hitting zero (did NOT entry my own CC#) and finally spoke to the rep. I explained that the number they were calling is not associated with my Citi account.
She said they are probably trying to collect from someone who gave MY number as their telephone number. She said were you born in 1975? Nope. Do you live in Cummings, Georgia? Nope. OK sorry sir, we will get this number removed from this account immediately..
Done deal.- Caller: Citi Bank

- HughI paid my Citibank Master card full balance every month and have never been late but I got a call from this number every few days (859-283-8071 from Florence KY). Today is Saturday they called me at 8:02AM while I was sleeping. This is very annoying.
Citibank will send letter through postal mail to notify a customer If there is any problem with his/her card.
I absolutely think it is a scam or phishing. Ignore the call. It is foolish to answer the call and provide personal info. - Joe M4 days in a row, at least 4 times a day but no one answers...simply a voice message stating that they need confirmation to send said parcel otherwise it won't go out, please leave your phone number and time to contact you.????? I am not expecting anything from anyone and I want it to STOP! scam your own family members and leave us alone.

- JacqAshtThey have called me twice today without leaving a voicemail. Figured I would google this Kentucky number and I have just read all of your posts. I called the number back, and an automated system asks for your credit card account number. When you are late on a bill, and Citi calls you, they should never ask you to provide your account number. They can look it by with your name, security word, birthday, etc. Probably a scam, considering my bill is NOT overdue!
- Caller: Citi Bank
- jyit is citibank. you should call the number on the back of your credit card to respond. had an overdue payment lost amid moving and they were calling to collect.
- Caller: citibank
- CherylThey are Citicard. It is their collections department, which many times is a 3rd party entity so calling Citibank about it will not get you anywhere most of the time as they there is a gap between the operations. That doesn't mean you should be giving out account numbers they should already know about. If you have a Citi anything account, new, very old, etc, just call Citi and ask them the status of your account. Don't call and resolve it if you have no intention of paying though - that simple. The honest and forthright will confirm and those "bothered" won't.

- HeyheyI've just get 2 call from this number, I answer the 1st one. There was no one, no sound. I missed the 2nd one, no message.
Thanks for sharing. - P| 1 replyThis is Citicard. I just got a call from this number on my new cell phone. Turns out the previous owner of the number was past due on their credit card. I called Citcard at 1-888-285-9696 which is their Internet Security number, who confirmed that this number IS theirs. This is not a scam number. Debt collectors are ruthless, hence the multiple calls at all hours. If you don't have a card with them, call the above number and talk to them about it. I got the error cleared up very quickly, and they were very nice about it.
