Unknown number repeatedly calling. They do not leave. a message.

Calls and calls, never leaves messages. Won't answer when I call back.

Yeah I never answer these calls because I don't want to acknowledge and restart a clock.
However, I'm beginning to like your way better. I've got time now to mess with them and they are trying to illegally collect. People we all need to use these methods. If 100 of us would file suit, we could effect change.

FYI, talking to them does not "restart a clock" which is another myth that seems to run rampant because people don't understand that it takes either an actual payment or signing a new contract to pay the debt to do that.

Well, you have two choices.  You can look their address up on the internet or you can read the thread and find out their address as well as what else you should be doing.  Remember that reading is learning.

She said she was from Portfollio ...whom ever that is.?..She gave me a sick migraine !!! screaming.!!..saying She was then from Capitol One..visa... I ask which one you from? Send in mail , she's still screaming! Portfollio, Visa , Capitol one all need sued! Harassing, and I told her she's harassing!!! She's still on phone!  I had to hang up! I just got out of hospital...and need to go back...talking about she is recording that, they need to send her to jail!  Harassing...when I told her I don't owe a bill..I had to hang up!  She probably would be still on phone.. that's Google breach of contract giving third party people my number.. Google needs to pay!

Yes, we know, because PRA controls hundreds of phone numbers and likely for the purpose of overwhelming call blockers. This comes up in every last PRA thread and the 'call blocker as mole whacker' complaint is the same. Hence why the advice to confront PRA directly is made over and again. When do you plan to tell PRA to quit bothering you at the workplace? It's your right not to be disturbed, and if your order was ignored it's also your right to sue for relief and make the loser pay all your court costs.

You really did some amazing and correct research. They are sadly still in business and still ignoring the law. I have filed all the correct complaints, and will continue to put pressure on these fools, and the regulators until they are out of business.

Well, until and if everyone starts to invoke their rights under the FDCPA and sues them, thus giving them either a monetary reason to change or hurting their bottom line to the point that it really hurts, then this will continue.  This means that you and everyone else should be suing them on an individual level and not worrying about "class action lawsuits".  It would be so much more costly for them in the long run.

This company keeps calling and harassing I have over 64 calls from them in a month all from different numbers I couldn't list all the numbers that company calls from. They are harassing the wrong person and number because I don't own them anything!  Portfolio Recovery needs to stop calling!

A lot of people say they dont have any debt and dont owe anything, but statistics show well over 80 percent of all people are in debt. I will admit I do have debt and I hope no one ever ends up like me. I was a paramedic and firefighter from age 18 to 28 in 2008 I was run over by a truck and had many  surgeries and that ended my career. I know a lot of you are saying you get disability from my job and I dont. The accident happened while on my way to start my [***] and I came up on an accident and was the first one there so I was just a passer by. So after numerous surgeries I had to either go on social security disability and that to me wasnt an option so I found another job but my bad luck had just begun. In 2010 and 2011 I was in a car accident each year where I was rear ended then in 2012 I rolled a truck 7 times and for some odd reason I am still alive. The bad luck isnt done so in 2017 I started having breathing issues and was in and out of the hospital with what the doctors kept saying was pneumonia so I was on inhalers that helped until 2019 when it got even worse and after being in and out of the hospital in June they tested my blood and did more scans and found I have scar tissue in both upper lobes of each lung and in both lower lobes of each lung,they also saw that my body wasnt removing the carbon dioxide in my blood and was diagnosed with copd and I am sure your thinking I smoked and I have never smoked anything in my life nor have I done any type of drugs,so after the diagnoses I was put on oxygen for 18 hours a day 2 inhalers a day and breathing treatments every 4-6 hours a day. In october I was unable to walk 10 steps or talk in a full sentence before I was out of breath I was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia in my left lung and staph infection in both lungs and was put on oxygen all the times. So now my doctors really dont want me to work I have all kinds of debt now, my truck was taken while in the hospital and we are living in one room in my wifes dads house and its my wife our 12 year old son and myself. At this point I am making no money the only money we have is from my wifes job while I look for a job I can do I have been buying cars for dealers since I was 18 and can hopefully do that the only problem is I need one of the portable oxygen machines for at the auction and insurance wont cover it because they say its a luxury item. Anyone one have any options I get 3-4 calls a day from portfolio  recovery associates always from a different number and I know its them because it comes up as account services on caller id.

This number is like robo calling me back to back to back it's ridiculous I need to figure out a way I can block anonymous calls where they're blocking it themselves or whatever they're doing. How do they know my name it's not even a valid.
