Looks like the FCC could do something about this number anyway. We get 1 or 2 calls daily!! The DNC list doesn't help. Most of the time we don't answer the phone but it's very annoying!!!

It's disgusting when people call from number, don't leave any message and when i call back i can't even leave a message or find out who is that....

Please take me off your call list.  This appears to be a scam of some sort.

When I got my 7th call this week from 864-213-7092, I hung up and called the number back.  I got a recording of some guy with the biggest redneck accent (I am Southern so I can tell) in the world stating that "If you keep gettin' calls from this number, someone should call the cops and they should be fined for money."  Of course, the useless Do Not Call Registry has been notified again and again, as if I expect anything from our inept govt in the first place.  Actually phone calls don't bother me - it's the gall of these crooks.  Maybe if we ALL contact the Greenville SC district attorney something might be done.

I got a call from this number today.  After pressing 1, I told the person who answered, if my number is not deleted from their list that I was filing harrassment charges against them.  If anyone gets the name of this company, post it here.  An attorney friend of mine says I have a good claim.

I just received one of these calls. I never answer them, go straight to answering machine. The new phones I purchased have a save/call block feature which actually works..........once activated, if they call again they immediately are told the call won't be accepted. All I hear is one ring. Way better than the do not call list.

Yes, wasting their time is the only countermeasure, since they're just spoofing their calling numbers and the feds can't really track them down except by launching a major investigation (which they have done to at least one bunch).

My approach is to do as BeenThere suggests and act very friendly and interested, but I try to get them as quickly as possible to asking for some information like a credit card number or balance.  Then I just tell them that I have to go get the statements, which are upstairs, and it will take me a minute or so.  They can't give you a callback number, because that would trace back to them, so they have to wait.  I put the phone down, usually on speaker, letting them listen to whatever background noise there is (so they know they haven't been disconnected) and go about my business until they give up.  I find they typically wait five to ten minutes, some have gone twenty or more, but my investment is usually only about a minute.  I've never even heard one of them get mad or say anything more than "Hello? ... Hello?" before hanging up.  They never seem to figure out they're being played.

If many people did this, they would either start taking their numbers off the list or end up finding many fewer actual suckers due to so much of their own time being wasted waiting for Billy or Josh or Ichabod to come back to the phone.  You do need to play it absolutely straight, though, because they're very wary about pranksters.

I just received a call form this number on my cell phone. I guess I was lucky because I never heard the phone ring. They did not leave a message.
Now that I know who these SOB's are I will not answer... ever.

After not answering several times I decided to do so and see if I could stop the calling. I accepted to speak to an agent to reduce my credit card interest. The lady came on and asked if I was interested and I told that I was more interested in them removing my number from their calling list. After a brief pause... she hung up on me.... we will see if they quit calling now... doubt it though....

You call the number back and it must belong to this guy who has a message saying that if you are receiving calls from this number it is a spoof.

I too am tired of these calls. I purchased a little air horn for a dollar and blast them every time they call..They deserve at least that much. I wait for them to get on the line and blast away..helps my frame of mind..

Got a call from this # on my fax line so didn't talk to them.  I am on the Do Not Call list, but it never helps to file complaint.  I have even tried to get the phone company to put a tracer on my line to get the real number that they are using, but ATT won't do. When I receive call from 'lower your interest rate', I press the option to talk to rep and see how much information I can get from them just to aggravate them. Tried saying I need number to call them back, but they won't give.  I did call the number and got message from man saying to report them.  One time got call from person collecting for 'sheriff's fund'.  Knew this was independent company which gets over 90% of what they collect!  Guy tried to make me feel bad about not donating, so I asked him how much he donated.  You could have heard a pin drop! HA HA...  Just have some fun with them because they are not going to stop.

Was not home when the call came, but I am sure he or she will not call back, due to my fax machine rang in his or her ear.  Besides, I do NOT answer any phone call from a number I do not know.  And I am also on the "Do Not Call List' we are  just wasting our time regestering on that list, neither FCC nor congress is doing any thing about it.  Need to vote ALL of them out of office.  Thanks for all the other comments, letting me know what type of call it was.

Guess we all need to jam the phone lines of the FCC and also our rep. in Washington, DC. asking how much they get paid from these callers that egnore the "Do Not Call List"  I did send an e-mail once to my local Rep. it took 3 minutes and he called me saying he is not getting paid by them.  The way he sounded, I touched his nreve.  I done the same you did, always let my fax machine answer these calls from unknown #'s

inadvertantly answered this call and waited to "press a number" to be taken off the list.  No such opportunity existed so I finally pressed "1" to talk to someone.  This person refused to accept that I did not want to be called by telling me I was chosen for credit review to reduce my interest rates and save interest, etc. etc. etc.  I kept saying vehemently that I was on the "do not call" list and I wanted them to stop calling me.  The response was "do you know why you are being called?".  I told them the whole point was I did not want to be called.  I threatened reporting them and they hung up.
