I have received  calls from this number. I'm very tired of my phone ringing more for telemarketers than it does for my personal use. How did I get so lucky as to get on the telemarketing list. I wasn't for years...??

Got 8 calls from them the 23rd and 6 on Christmas Eve! Some insurance agency to sell me a Medicare supplement, couldn't make out the name of the place. Kinda funny since the day before I contacted an insurance company about MAILING me info on Medicare insurance, which I have yet to receive. So they sold my number to slime? Not getting my business. I'm waiting for an impt call and keep dropping what I'm doing, prepping for the holiday, and it's this garbage. I think I should put my fax machine on!

Suuuuuure.  They are FOUNDED by retired insurance agency owner Dan Weber. AMAC’s biggest claim to fame is its proposal to fix social security by turning it into individually owned IRAs! This Business is not BBB accredited.   AMAC does not provide revenue figures. No one questions the right of an American company to compete in any marketplace, but AMAC was not created to offer a competitive advantage. It exists primarily to press a right-wing political agenda that counters an organization whose political focus is almost entirely on issues for and about the nation’s senior citizens.

Getting a call from them every day; I don't answer and they don't leave a message. What good is the no call list?

The DNC isn't a call blocker and can not protect you from the illegal callers, extortion scammers, foreign country's and frauds. Criminals do not obey laws simply said.    They use spoofed numbers which make it hard to track them down.. it takes time to do this and many subpoenas for call records.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.
