I called back 866-206-8371.  They identified themselves as a collection agency for Bell Canada and seemed legit.

When I gave the collections rep my file number that had been left on my answering machine, she asked me if I knew a couple of people who had used my number as a reference.  "No," I told her, "I don't know any of them."  She politely replied that she was sorry to have bothered me and that they would take my number off their automated calling list.

So, for those who wonder why Bell would be calling them when they don't have any outstanding bills or aren't even a Bell customer, let my story be an example of why they might want to talk to you.

I cancelled Bell awhile ago and had my final bill due May 25th.  I have it set up to pay today, just to wait until the last minute.  I have ignored calls since I knew that was what was coming.  But this part is incredible - they called  my sister-in-law, at a different number and location, looking for me!  WTF?  Calling my relatives in unbelievable!  Told her to give me this number to call and a reference # as well.  I'll be following up after work, but has anyone heard of this before?

This is a complete scam. Ever since I closed my account, they've been calling about a final balance -they got that wrong. They seemed defensive when I questioned them. I called the real Bell and they said they've been experiencing complaints of fraud for the past few weeks but don't want to alarm customers (???). Why NOT let customers know??

The Bell rep. said they see no notes on my file since my last call (weeks ago) and advised that if they call and ask you to confirm YOUR address (??) it's not real. They're just picking for information to open up fraudulent accounts for their own use. Do NOT answer any calls from 1-866-206-8371  or 1-514-286-5109. Also, if you see 'Bell Canada" on caller ID, it's not them. Usually the number pulls up as 'unknown' from the real Bell. And if you get a letter in the mail, disregard it and call the real Bell to confirm.

I keep getting calls from them. They are calling my cell phone who knows how they got it it is unlisted and from Rogers and they keep calling my home phone I left them in March and I keep getting calls to return the modem which I have thank goodness for tracking numbers at the post office. I have to click ignore at least 4x a day I have told them I have returned it yet I have to go over this same conversation with my proof everytime they call. I suggest don't pick up call 310 BELL and handle whatever the issue is on that number.

See, this is the danger of posting things on the internet without putting a second thought into it... For years to come, this post will appear on this website... Take time to contact customer service and ask them about 206 8371... Credits & Collection department... FAIL.

It is bell sometimes it,s because a friend or a family member gave your 3 as a ref so they will call you to get to that person

Getting calls from this number and getting messages left in French.  The only words I can make out is Bell Canada.  They call several times a day

I got a call from this number, I had cancelled Bell services on 29th July 2013 and paid the said amount quoted by the agent, cleared that I wont have to pay anything more and services will be cancelled.
This guy calls me in a strong tone that he will keep calling me unless I pay whatever they show is again due 167$ for services I never used since July 29th 2013 and further more I will be charged more penalty.....
I wait for more charges to be charged by them as they are BELL and they can do anything to suck your saved money even though your services are cancelled and I have returned the modem/router etc........

Some of you are like me that owe Bell money... I refuse to pay my bill until they provide means for me to ship back their box and they won't do it so [***] em I can deal with one little thing on my credit report because I've already got everyting I need in life house, car, truck, toys so screwwe BELL they're services are the worst ever.

What I do now instead of getting pissed of when they call is I answer the phone and just leave it on cause they'll eventually hang up and you win because of having fun with them. DON'T GET MAD take this time to have some laughs with them believe me it'll make your day. They call me 4-6 times per day hahahha

sounds like me. let them phone it creates employment and if not for us they'd be home on e.i or on welfare. by the way bell has loads of money to employ them. every time call display shows there number I smile, love call display best feature ever, smile on everyone,  thanks have a good day
