- Chris K| 5 replies100% legit, RBC fraud centre. They are confirming new suspicious online visa purchases and nothing else. This call saved me tons of aggregation and money as my visa debit was compromised and purchases were being made. They ask you different security questions and confirm your identity. None of the questions are giving any info that could further compromise your ID or help in any further scams. If you don't think this # is legit jut call the RBC 1-800 # and you'lll see
- Caller: RBC Fraud Centre
- BigA replies to Chris KSo you knew who called but looked up the number anyway? Why?

- David replies to JustinCalled RBC and number is a fake so beware. There are those who post positive remarks for this call are probably part of the scam. Never accept this number, call the number in back of card
- seth| 1 replythis page is no help at all. 50 percent are emphatic that it is a scam, 50 percent are emphatic that it isn't. I'bve gotten nowhere here
- Caller: rbc
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BigA replies to sethThat isn't true. Think about it. You know who and why they called. Do you immediately go out to look up the number? No. Why would you? You certainly can't learn anything new by doing that. Think also about why you did look up the number. You weren't sure who called and you wanted more information. The simple solution is to call the bank directly using the number on the back of your card, the number on your statement, or the number on the official website.
- Johnny| 3 repliesI got a call from 1-866-212-2004 saying it is RBC fraud department. I called the phone number at the back of my debit card and they confirmed that it is their fraud department and I was transferred. RBC called to confirm two transactions made with my Visa Debit card at the States.I said I have not used my Visa Debit for a year already. They will cancel the transactions.

I thought the same about your post.Quote:Oh my god. The first half of this thread was a nightmare.
Your "story" doesn't help reassure anyone their call is going to be legitimate because you have no possible way to know who is calling them.
It doesn't matter if the NUMBER is legitimate or not, the problem people have is if the CALLER is legitimate and nobody can reassure others that they will get a legitimate call. Scammers spoof banking numbers all the time and you can't guarantee others they won't be called by a scammer spoofing this number.
Never trust a caller to be who they claim, always call from an official number to verify if they did call. - TOS replies to deleted postWash your mouth out with soap, very strong soap. - Dick TracyIt is definitely a scam. Before asking for anybody, with a heavy Russian accent she wanted my debit card number. RBC verifies first by postal or date of birth and your name.
