- AnonymousThis # is NOT a fraud . I called the # in the back of my card : 1-800 769-2511 and they ( the R.B.C ) told me that they where , indeed , trying to reach me for a problem with my card : someone made an attempt to get money from my account so they had to freeze the account .
- GibboRBC Fraud Protection.
The call's legit. I was unsure so I called the number on the back of my card. The RBC rep said that it was in fact the number for their fraud protection group and transferred me over.
peace [***]!- Caller: Royal Bank Fraud Protection
- RosaIt is legit, but I would recommend calling the number back on your RBC client card and having them look into it for you. You will feel more at ease calling RBC directly, however, they assured me it was a legit call.

- Jennifer replies to FAKE 100%| 1 replyHello,
I'm so sorry when you called that number they were rude to you. This number is for the National Fraud Detection Group for RBC. It is not a fake number. They monitor activity on all accounts for protection against frauds and unauthorized activity. No one in Royal Bank is working with the fraudsters to give them your phone number. The only way they have access to your phone number through RBC is because they are RBC's National Fraud Detection group. I know that client's security and satisfaction are paramount at RBC. If you EVER have someone calling you from RBC, always call 1800-ROYAL11 to verify and confirm, and they can connect or direct you to who can help. As well, a heads up for email scams, RBC will never ask you to enter in personal information or links to a site that ask you to enter personal information. Call RBC if this ever happens to you and report it. You should also call the number on the back of your card to discuss this incident as well. - FRAUD ALERT replies to Ghost| 3 repliesIt's a phishng fraud folks - I confirmed it with RBC.
The above is a shill posting.
Again, it's a phishing faud folks - report the number to RBC immediately and to the RCMP Anti-Fraud Center:
http://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/ - Justin replies to FRAUD ALERT| 2 repliesWho ever you talk to at RBC must of been inexperienced or really dumb. This is not a fake number. The reason for the call would be to warn you about possible fraud with your card or accounts. Not something you should ignore. You should get a second opinion right away.
- JA18| 1 replyThis is the RBC fraud detection group. I was travelling in China and needed cash. After using an ATM 3 times, the ATM started rejecting my card and 15 minutes later I got a call from this number asking if the withdrawals were actually by me. Pain in the [***] at the time, but overall pretty impressed by the RBC security.
- Caller: RBC
- Fraud SquadPart of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions. Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.
The large number of phony posts claiming the call is genuine all originate from the fraud perpetrator spamming the site to try and dupe the public. There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

Repeat - the number is fake - do not respond or provide information. - Shill Alert replies to JenniferThe number is fraudulent - not RBC. The above is yet another shill posting from the operator of this fraud. The fraud can be reported here:
http://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/ - alex replies to PermafrostI actually think this is fake because I received a call yesterday and I dont have or ever had an account with them. SCAM
- lmThese people called saying they were calling on behalf of rbc bank and that a person other than me had had the debit card compromised and that I should call them back. I did and they couldn't answer any questions to my satisfaction. They couldn't give me any pertinent info as to why and said that my number probably belong ed to this person. I shall report this the police because I feel that they should be.
- JWFAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE
when you call the number 1) that's not an RBC phone number
2) you don't get the usual options or voice when you call RBC
3) FAKE FAKE FAKE- Caller: RBC National Fraud Detection Group
- JW replies to Really?!Followed your Step #2.. interesting response from RBC saying that there wasn't anything wrong with my account at all... numb nuts.
- Willow replies to PermafrostI had a call from this number today. I did the footwork to solve it through RBC. I called RBC had them transfer me to the fraud people and it was the RBC fraud detection group calling me. They were calling to confirm possible suspicious transactions on my account.
Thank you RBC - Real # replies to PermafrostI received a call from this number. They left a message saying to call rbc 800-769-2511. It's real, they transferred me to the fraud department and someone was actually trying to use my virtual debit card but got denied.
- Crabby attitudeThat number just called me but I did not answer. Never do if I don't recognize the caller. I then called RBC to verify the message left about my card being compromised. The call was a fake. There was no problem with any of my RBC cards. The number is a scam for sure. Don't talk to them and call the number on the back of your card to verify. Simple.
