- Pissed off replies to PLI recieved a similar notification from Motor Vehicle Services. The phone number on the card was 1-866-608-4868. THIS IS A SCAM. I bought a new nissan back in march '09, with a 6 year warranty. I know it is not up, and have consulted my dealer. They informed me of this scam. Watch out for these a**holes.
- Airforce1977 replies to mp45This is a scam. I own a Pontiac Grand Prix (and yes my warranty did expire recently) so I called to check on the price.
The initial phone service message is cheezy, the girl that answers is cheezy, but the "floor manager" who gets online is REALLY cheezy. This is old school scam car insurance sales trick. All I asked is how much would it cost, and immediately I was put on hold for the floor manager to pick up and act real cheezy. I pictured him with a 70's mustache in a real cheap suit smoking some generic cigarettes on the other side of the line.
People do not deal with this fraudelent company that is not listed with the Better Business Bureau. - Blah replies to SkinSavageActually, it appears that the mailings are from a different entity. The guys in MO certainly seem legit - not all extended warranties are scams.
- PC RaoSometime, INTERNET HELPS people to save the hard-earned money. I've just received the same type of mail. It says *** EXTREMELY URGENT AND TIME SENSITIVE **. It came from "Motor Vehicle Services" with my name, address, but no sender's address. It looked strange and thought of checking on internet.
I gave a search on google with this info and realized that its all bogus.
Thanks to all those who provided their comments.- Caller: ABC Corp
- pissed| 1 replyI got the the same letter in my mail. I ignored in few times. then it came with very urgent blah blah... and it even had a date that my warranty, according to them, would expire. I got kinda sacred so I call these people. He asked me info about my car and I said I don't have them right now but I wanna know what kinda of company this is before I give you my info. and the rep. who answered by call started getting mad at me and started to act infuriated. I was caught by surprise because I have never been treated like that by any costumer service people. All i asked was what kinda of company is this and how did you get my info and mailing address and the guy pretty much started yelling saying that your car company does not provide warranty but we do. I highly doubt this is ligit... and even if it is there is no way i'll buy warranty from those a...holes.
- wz869 replies to bbbmanRIGHT so all 3 posts that support this bogus company were just COINCIDENTALLY posted on the SAME DAY? nice try a**holes.
I got a letter from them, it's definitely a scam. The amount of lies I heard the lady tell me on the phone made me humor her for sh*ts and giggles until the very end where she asked me to accept the offer, where I sternly declined to hear her facade of kiss-a** drop in a split second. They want your money, and their hick accents will kill your brain cells. Spare yourself the call even and just toss out the mail when you get it. - jgr replies to pissedmy poor wife freaked at the sight of this post card today and called them thinking they were part of BMW. She managed to figure out that something wasn't right before agreeing to pay anything but she disclosed our car's VIN in the process... are we f*cked?
- V replies to doubledee75Actually I just got this same letter in the mail, I've never had warrenty on my vehicle and it's a 94 which I bought last year from a Used Car Dealership and it said AS IS, NO WARRANTY! This is clearly a scam and I'm sorry that they took advantage of you!
- vdogjgr, I did the same thing as a wife and agreed to the downpayment but the 30 days aren't up--Will I be able to call and cancel???
- AniriaI believe this is a scam. I, too, got the paper in the mail stating "FINAL NOTICE". When I called and asked a lot of question, they danced around the answers and never provided me with one. Once I declined, the guy got so upset and was very condescending. That is a good sign right there that they are not leggit. I laughed at him, said thank you for the information, and hung up. Smiling on my way home at WHAT AN IDIOT this guy is.
So whoever is singing that, "give them the benefit of the doubt song"....please. Like someone else said on here....how much do they pay you? Get a reputable job.- Caller: Motor Vehicle Services
- smart shopper| 1 replyI too got this notice. I purchased my truck over a year ago so I was a little hesitant to call them. I went online and found out this is a legitimate company that offers extended warranties. Actually if you go to their website you will see they have a lot of good information about how to buy a warranty and not get scammed. I did get their report on the 7 great lies about warranties and found it very helpful. Before all of you start talking bad about people you should make sure you know what you are talking about. I did call the number on the letter and spoke to a very nice lady that gave me a quote and did not pressure me to buy anything. She emailed me the contract so I could show my husband and then called back just to make sure we did not have any questions. Even then she did not try to force us to buy it. From the contract I was emailed I can tell you the warranty she offered me is better than what the dealer offered me when I bought the truck. Just to compare, I called a few other places including car chex and direct warranty services and I will tell you the people at Motor Vehicle Services were much nicer and upfront than any of the other places I called. I also found out in my call to them that they offer a goodwill department that helps you when you do have a repair that is not covered. I challenge all of you that say this is a scam to take a moment and call them and see for yourself. Also take time to call a few other places that sell warranties and see how they treat you when you say you want to talk to your spouse or think about it. You will see how rude they treat you! Also just for fun..call your dealership and tell them you want an official copy of the contract they offer. It will be harder than you thought!
As far as it showing up a different number every time they call....I too work in a call center and know that they have to have more than 1 phone line in their office so every time I pick up the phone to dial out, I get the first free line we have in our office. Think about when the phone or cable company call you. It always shows up different. It would be impossible for a company to work with only 1 phone line.
I know with so many scams going on in the world it is out first reaction to scream scam but I think we all need to become a little bit smarter about our own habits and then we would not fear being scammed all the time. Just do your research. Find out who the company is insured by,are they rated by the BBB and what do their other customers say about them.

- E. H. replies to PLI have a new car with a warranty also and got this scammy notice. It is somewhat threatening. and I would think this is bordering on illegal.
- Skeptic replies to smartshopperYour right! so I will start with not believing what you wrote, since you provided no other information other than "I have a warranty through them...".
- Dave replies to L8D8I can't believe that paid posters are so bad at their jobs.
Did you really need to say you were 300 miles from home? In the middle of the night? You're a life-long customer who has referred many family and friends? Soften it a little. This is just ridiculous. - RAWRhttp://www.bbb.org/central-northern-western-a ... ix-az-97003038/
Scam much?? We have websites saying, o yes they are BBB accredited, and others that DONT. This "Greg Nelson" guy is making tons of money out of people's income! I don't care if what he is doing is legal or not, regardless, it is a SCAM because it is dishonest. Saying it is a factory warranty (NOT OFFER), is simply a lie. Then this guy has multiple websites.. http://www.buy-autowarranty.com/ ..http://www.nelsonautogroup.com/displayContent.asp?keywords=aboutus ... http://motorvehicleservices.com/blog .. all different, but all go to the same "facebook and twitter page". So what is up? This a very good scam indeed, since it manages to SCARE a person by stating it is "A REQUEST FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION- TIME SENSITIVE MATERIAL" along with a "WARNING" statement. C'mon! This is a LIE, I dont care how much you tell me to give this Nelson guy a chance, he is being dishonest about the way he does things and Im unsure as to how he is making most of his money. Perhaps is in call time? Or simply reeling people into getting an over priced warranty. Whatever the case is, it is a scam in my book. I called them and a sleazy guy answered, then said he would transfer me, but there was no one to transfer me to so he just spoke. MMM...... Please people just throw it away before you end up regretting it.- Caller: Student
- RAWRsmart shopper - they did not pressure you? THE first thing they tell you is that if you hang up you dont qualify for the price they charge you anymore. Please! Pressure, pressure, pressure!

- UnbiasedI did just buy a new car, but there was no warranty negotiated between myself and the seller at all so that made me curious. When I further examined the letter I got (which said many of the same things being posted here) I found multiple addresses and phone numbers. For instance, the postage stamp box said it was mailed from 46802 (Indiana I believe) and 63385 was the zip code in a little blurb at the end of the statement. My phone number was also different (877-892-5386) buy my letter is almost certainly from the same source as what is reported here. It was just a generic form; folded and glued to its with some severe looking warning about tampering with its delivery on the front. Another warning sign was that it said "To be opened by addressee or current vehicle owner only". This tells me that this is an advertisement. Still, nothing wrong with an ad alone. So then I go to the BBB site to track it down and to my surprise there is a company in Missourri with an A- rating. The trouble with that is that the BBB has only been tracking it since Feb of 2011 (June 2011 at the time of my writing this). Not only that, but in the same MO zip code as A- company there is another company that holds a D- rating and has a number of strikes against them including misleading advertising.
All of these things together don't make for a compelling sales pitch if you ask me. My suggestion: if you are worried about going on long trips, breaking down, anything else like that then just get a subscription to AAA. By the way, AAA of MO holds an A+ rating on the BBB =)- Caller: Motor Vehicle Services

- Not easy to get meI think smart shopper is the CEO of this company. Why would she write so much and be concerned about the reputation of this company if she was just a customer... I have been dealing with a lot of these no sense companies in my search to find a truthful one. and so far nothing yet... what scares me is that i dont know where they got my information from... how did they send me the mail??? right there it is a sign that the are just another company looking to rip you off. Be carefull guys...
- GarciaI got this letter as well and what is weird to me was the fact that I have recently moved to this new address and haven't even transfer bills and correspondence to the new address but yet received this letter. I decieded to google it before calling but was contamplating the idea of getting extended warranty well not with this company any how. Thanks
