Daily calls. Never answer.  Persistent

Calls every single day.  Always goes to dial tone after the third ring.  Never leaves a message.  Always calls around the same time.  Annoying as hell.

Insurance caller from Bank of America (because you have a credit card with us)I could look at $1,000,000 insurance policy for three months. Then if I decided I did not want it ok. Caller said they would call back to remind me in 2 months. I said no thanks

If someone calls you then drops the call, Get even!

If you have a dial out from voip providers like skype or yahoo give them some payback by calling them at odd hours.  Dial out voip phones do not have a registered phone number so in effect is  non-existent for inbound calls.

*but if you bought a dial in number from your provider, don't use it. ;)

have received several calls from this number in the last several weeks.  i usually don't answer; however, i did today.  they asked to speak to my husband and would not let me field the call/offer.  this is annoying as we are on the DNC list.

I've got this phone# 1-866-233-2773 everyday; why do they call like that twice or three times aday they do not feel be tired? How to stop them? ...

Called 6 times today (09/18), twice yesterday (09/17), twice Saturday (09/15), and countless times before that.  They never leave a message. Like everyone else, we are on the DNC, but that doesn't stop them.  One credit card that I have had for 20 years is now with them after a series of bank mergers, although having a prior relationship doesn't seem to be a prerequisite for getting these calls.

I have been getting a call daily from this number also.I think these companies have realized most of us will not pick up the out of area and are now showing the toll free numbers or using some fictious name to get us to answer the phone. Something needs to be done. Maybe a class action suit would get their attention.

One thing you are all overlooking is that telemarketing is a very successful and profitable way of generating business.  Why is that possible?  Because millions of people, just like you, ACCEPT the offers that are presented to them.  Without the customer, there would be no business.  
Another thing to consider is that "mainstream" telemarketing companies do their very best to avoid conflict with exisisting business relationship calls and have elaborate checks and balances in place to minimize multiple calls.  No one wants to lose your business.  Certainly, no one wants to be fined 11k per violation for breaking the law.
Yes, it takes time to scrub your number from their systems.  Yes, there are "boilerroom" companies out there that flaunt the law.  On the whole, reputable companies will do everything they can to help.  Your best bet is to call the company which the telemarketers are calling on behalf of.  THEY supply your telephone numbers to the various third party vendors that call you.  THEY can remove you quickly.  If they don't, you can't blame the company calling you.  So make sure and opt out of ALL marketing offers.  This includes mailings, etc. If you place your name on a single PRODUCT DNC, you will be called for each and every new product that comes along.  It's a hassle, but it will save you a great deal of frustration in the future.
And please remember, the person you hear on the other end of the phone doesn't know you.  They have no idea how frustrated you are.  Screaming at them will not help your cause.  They are simply trying to earn a living and do their jobs the best they can like anyone else.  As in all things, you may get a rude operator or someone that is just as frustrated as you because they've been screamed at all day for something they can't control. If that happens, ask for a supervisor.  If you're hung up on, just call back and a different operator will help you.  Report the poor service and that prior operator will be identified and dealt with and more than likely, your problem will be solved.

They call every day, I never answer them. Twice the answering machine had a recorded message with a man's voice then you get this loud beep noise that never ends. The only way to stop it is by answering and ending the conversation. We came home from vacation in August with this on the answering machine and this happened again last week. What does it take to get these annoying phone calls stopped? Apparently they pay no attention to the do not call lists....they need to be stopped and the only way to do is to put an end to them and fine them so much they have to shut their "business" down.

Was receiving up to 3 calls a day asking for my wife, never left a message when I told the caller she was at work.  Saw the forum and called the do not call number to get us off the list.  2 days late we started receiving calls from 702-520-1147 that listed "Nevada Call" on caller ID.  My wife told them not to call and they called again today, I told the woman off.  Makes me want to cancel the credit card.

They keep calling here every business day about insurance. People said that you had to call and CANCEL it rather than SIGN UP FOR IT. That's it. No dice. And the fact that they asked for ME (college student) rather than my MOM (who is also on the account, has been a B of A customer for years) kind of speaks to who they think will fall for this junk.

Almost daily I have been receiving calls from 866-233-2773.  No messages have been left on my answering machine. Attempting to call the number back have only resulting in getting a message that says I should call the number that the "agent" should have left as a call-back.

I get these calls every day, at least 3 times a day! I called (866) 233-2776, which is supposedly a Bank of America. The number is strictly used to get put on the do not call list with BoA. Hopefully it works (they say to give it 30 days).

We get a call from this # twice a day everyday.  This company needs to realize that hang up calls is something you when you are in elementary school!  Why generate a phone call if you are not going to talk?  How do companies like this get phone numbers when we are the do not call list?  Sounds like "they" have no common sense.

Have been getting the same as others. Unknown Name with this phone number on caller id. I never answer and they never leave a message, often I get dial tone by the third ring. I finally decide to call the number tonight and got the same " Call back the toll free number given by the agent" bs. Since I've never talked to any agent, I have no idea what that number might be.

I too have a credit card that was issued by MBNA and got bought out earlier this year by BofA. I hate BofA and can tell the difference in customer service attitude since they took over.

I'm glad to have found this site by Googling the number. At least I know I'm not alone. I get calls at the rate of one or two a day.

1-866-233-2773 has called at least twice a day, sometimes three times in a day for the past month.

Alright 16 calls in i week it has begun again and this time i called and spoke to the branch manager at our local bank of America and i was told that this number or other numbers used are for services for Banc of America, an affiliate. So i explained my annoyance and being on the do not call list since 2006 and she stated that i need to file a formal complaint with the better business bureau and i did. This is not the real Bank of America it is an affiliate of theirs that provides a long list of services and also has the names of everybody who has a bank account with them or credit or business services through them. That is how they acquire our names.
