Over the past several months I have received calls from this organization, DEMANDING money,,,, I DO NOT OWE them, or anyone else they're representing . On 3 occasions I forwarded them faxed documentation that the account had been paid 10 years ago! Because they are unable to keep staff, they have claimed they were unable to access the information I had forwarded them. I had advised them that the next time they attempted to contact me, my lawyer would speak with them. They laughed, then THREATENED me once again. They call DAILY all week, and will NOT STOP.

If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:

Yes and they are legit. In my case it was for a bill from Yves Rocher I had forgotten all about. You should call back and find out why they call (because they don't call for nothing) and ignoring them can only make your credit go bad.

Why would anyone believe the questionable assertions of some anonymous idiot who claims they forgot about a bill?  All of the non-shill/non-troll posts in this thread claim the company harassed them for a debt that wasn't owed.

Why should we believe you --- because you're a shill?

My darling shill, if you "forgot" you owed someone a debt you already " made your credit go bad".
    Thanks for playin'!

While the FTC alerts well describe the problem on both sides of North America, I believe pointing to Canadian law would be more appropriate.

The original creditors could care less.  Their business is lending and charging high interest which makes up for those that go tits up and can't pay for a many reason - not just because people don't want to pay.  Maybe some day, you will find out for yourself how life can turn on a dime.  The original creditors have made money off of it via past interest and then selling it to the vultures, so it's not Skylink anyone owes.  If they won't validate, in writing, who they are and prove what they are collecting, why would anyone pay them?  You would have to be a fool.
Mine was for a 100.00 boating ticket in another province from ten years ago!  And it was paid .  So the information they are buying isn't even accurate - the fools paid for something that isn't even outstanding, which should tell you how professional they are.  They would be better served spending their money and getting an education and getting a real job.
