I missed a call from this number. When I tried to return the call I heard: "If you are interested in a free vacation leave your name and number at the beep. If you want to be put on our Do Not Call list please say DNC after the beep and leave your phone number."

why do people always ask for "brandon" when they call my number?  well, i know why but i've had this number for 3 years!  this number called me and i said "this isn't brandon's number" and some dumba** chick said, "well i guess you're in luck then because were offeri..." so i said, "no, i'm not" and hung up.  called them back and got the same message as Alan.
"If you are interested in a free vacation or online education leave your name and number at the beep. If you want to be put on our Do Not Call list please say DNC after the beep and leave your phone number."  I called back and left the message.  time will tell.

I did what Steve (below, 7/25/07) did, said "DNC" followed by my number, very clearly.  It didn't work; they called again the next day.  My wife answered.  The caller asked for me by my first name.  When my wife asked who it was, she said, "This is Amy."  My wife asked whether this "Amy" knew me personally, and "Amy" said yes, she was a personal friend of mine, but she wouldn't say how or from where.  Fact is, I don't know any "Amy" with no last name, especially one who's trying to push free vacations on people.

By the way, we just moved in, and the number has only been under our name for about 2 weeks.  Evidently these clowns are obtaining new number info from the phone company.  If anyone can get their street address, I'd love to pay "Amy" a personal visit.

    ICE, ICE, baby....
I was just called from 1-866-303-3751 by what sounded like a young child whose first language was not English asking for a couple whose name I couldn't make out very clearly.  This person refused to identify her(?)self and kept on mumbling out these people's phone number.  I called the telephone number back and got the same recording other people seem to have gotten which goes something like "If you are interested in a free vacation leave your name and number at the beep. If you want to be put on our Do Not Call list please say DNC after the beep and leave your phone number."

Honestly, I wouldn't take free gold from sleazy people like this, and I wouldn't sell them my spit.  I just wish there were some way of putting them out of business.

    Oh, yeah...
I'm the same person who posted before - we got called yesterday by ANOTHER couple of kids from an 866 telemarketing line, then it was 866-372-8529.

Thing is, we're on the National Do Not Call List.  Another thing is, aren't there regulations about using child labor in the telemarketing racket?

I have been receiving calls from this company (using different numbers) every day for the past week. I have asked each salesperson to take me off of their list, which hasn't worked, and when I call the number back, I can't leave a DNC message because the mail box is full (and has been all week). Basically, I just can't get these people to leave me alone. My phone number is new and has only been on the Do Not Call registry for two weeks, so I can't complain there (and the general FCC form seems to be for people who have been seriously scammed, not just annoyed). I know everyone needs to make a living but the people who run this stuff should be shot.

wanna reach through the phone and
Female caller asking for my husband. They call when he's at work - as I told her stupid a**. They call constantly - when he's at work! I'd high-five the person who finds these idiots and gives them what they deserve. If they can't get a real job they should stick to panhandling face-to-face. I DO give money to those who look like they need it.

No, we never call back (why she keeps calling our friggin' number) so I really don't know what the heck she's selling. The people running this will rot one day - I just hope it's sooner than later.

    John F.
I had a call from "Amy" who would not give a last name or initial. I advised her that my phone is a private line and she could advertise on it for $75.00 a minute with a 3 minute minimum. She told me this was not an advertisement and it was because I "won" from an entry I had submitted. I advised her I have never entered a contest with my home phone as I have only had it for 4 weeks. Once again I told her my terms for advertising on my phone. She said "OK i would like to continue". She then went on, I asked for a billing address and she still went on with her pitch. I once again asked her for a billing address and she STILL went on with her pitch. When she was done, 2 minutes and 35 seconds later, I again asked her for the billing address, she would only tell me "South Jordan, Utah" after asking her to speak to her supervisor (no less than 8 times, she told me was a trainee. I again asked to speak to her supervisor explaining to her that I need a billing address. At this point she opted to disconect the call. Now, here is what research has found out. The company that is calling is Hybrid Call Center, they are located in South Jordan Utah. The company that contracted this call center is Wyndham Vacation. I did call them (Wyndham) and was told "Thats are time share department" and gave a phone number of 800-251-8736, when calling that it ran me in circles, I will update as I follow through.

More prank calls from the same unintelligible person with a foreign accent who refuses to identify her (his, its?) name.

I called the telephone number back (AFTER calling the automated trap-and-trace number at Qwest) again and got the same recording other people seem to have gotten which goes something like "Margin Call Center - if you are interested in a free vacation leave your name and number at the beep. If you want to be put on our Do Not Call list please say DNC after the beep and leave your phone number."

I Emailed someone at Margin Call Center's headquarters (Axess Denver, according to an Internet search for "Margin Call Center") who assured me that (a) no one was calling from THEIR phone numbers to harass anyone and (b) asked me to call him if the problem recurred.

    "Vance,
Sorry this is happening. Feel free to give me a call.  I assure you
Axess Communications is not associated to this misconduct. Thank you.

    Jeff Myers
    VP
    Anywhere number 303-531-6010
    jmyers@axesscomm.com"

If anyone else is having grief from numbers associated with "Margin Call Center," you MAY wish to contact Mr. Myers as well.  Letting him know what harm these "associates" of his are doing to his company's image is only the neighborly thing to do.

Well, one way (automated trap and trace) or another (direct pressure on the guys who pass out the toll free phone numbers people are using to mess with us), we're going to hang these pukes out to dry.

Finally had someone call who could speak the English language with reasonable fluency, turns out someone filled out one of those sweepstakes entry forms in  my name and phone number (gee, thanks, whoever you are) without my permission.

Not as bad as I thought, but could still be a phishing scam done with or without the knowledge or permission of the telephone line owner (some of those guys have been known to "freelance" and snap up a credit card number or two).

By the way, these guys always ask you to show up with a valid credit card for "ID" purposes when picking up your "prize" and getting a high-pressure sales presentation.  I think that if state-issued ID isn't good enough, the people involved are looking to hit your credit card or checking account without your knowledge, or even sell your identity to an illegal alien.  Not a good idea.  Even worse when these people are filling out sweepstakes entries in your name without your knowledge or permission.

    GoodGuy
I've gotten 2 calls in the last 3 days from this number on my Grand Central line.  I filled out a sweepstakes entry for TrendWest/Wyndham/WorldMark about a month ago and I used this number.

Luckily Grand Central has an option to block particular numbers and give them the "This number is not in service message"

It's pretty cool. Check it out at   http://www.grandcentral.com

They keep calling repeatedly!!  Will not stop calling!  I reviewed the number, and will not answer, because I do not want it to get worse.  I am going to report them to the FCC and BBB if this continues!

I hate these people.  Their mailbox for leaving A DNC message is always conveniently full, and their managers are always busy, probably because every person they call wants to be taking off their stupid scam vacation package.  Do any of you know if my cell phone provider (Sprint) can do anything about it? Is it hard to have them just block that number?
