Guy says the language is unnecessary like WTF? Whats unnecssary is you calling a effin 100 times DAY! He claims he took my number off list! We will see! Effin jerks!
- Tabi replies to KWI believe you are right. No one needs to be posting home numbers here. My son tried that and began getting all kinds of different calls from different companies!
- Tabi replies to Sarah H.I just called them back. I got a pre paid credit card which is evidently backed by their bank. Now they want me to get a credit card that is not secured. I have no interest in this. I have told them this and they keep calling. They said the card did not have to be just the Wal Mart card, they back almost all of the secured cards. Read the fine print is all the advice I can give.

I moved here last year and brought my old phone number with me. They are looking for the person who use to live here. The agency is using address to serch for numbers, just explain to them that the person they are looking for does not live here & please remove ME from your calling list.

- CBWStarted getting calls and letters from Leading Edge Recovery regarding a debt that our attorney settled MONTHS ago. L.E.R. is trying to collect for the full amount- not sure how they got this info. THIS IS A SCAM-
They want me to send them the settlement documents "to remove the file"......I think a letter from my attorney is more appropriate.- Caller: Leading Edge Recovery

- ginaI have no idea what they want. I which they could come over and have an appointment with me and go over all their paper work. So I know what is going on.
I do not need this people call again. Thanks - SageI think they are collecting for a credit card. Years ago, we got a visa credit card. Immediately they began charging us a bunch of fees, We only used it about 3 times. Every month, they would call us 14 days before the bill was due, and harass us about paying it. Finally I became so irritated, I asked how much it would take to pay off everything on the card. After they told me, I told them that was what I was sending, then I cut up the card while i was on the phone with them and told them to cancel the card. Told them we no longer wished to do business with them, and not to contact us again. Everything fine. life goes on.
3 years later, We are buying a house, We pull our credit report, and the company is on it. Come to find out after i canceled our card they charged us the 150.00 yearly fee on the card, then began adding late fees every month. They never sent anything to us. Well, we decided it would be easier to pay them then fighting it. We called, made a deal, had them send us a letter stating if we paid xxx amount, within 30 days of receiving their letter all responsibility of this debt would be taken care of and we would no longer owe anything on this debt. We mad copies of this letter copies of the check, and then made copies of the canceled check and now everything is taken care of............ Not. Now they are calling again.... they will not listen, will not accept a copy of the letter (only the original will do. they will not accept a notarized copy. I think thy want to lose the original letter so I don't have a leg to stand on) Every time we get close to sueing these collectors, they re sell the "debt", and we have to start all over again.- Call type: Debt collector
- PhilI got called about an account that I did not have. I told the person that I have NEVER had an account witht he names of companies that he told me. - Resident47 replies to raviRavi, Margaret, and "SC" have all demonstrated how not to deal with debt collection calls, following the poor examples of Gina, Sharon, Rball, Larry3349, Avraham Lachs, and NLG over the course of two years on this page. It's time this pattern stopped.
Your callers do not maintain this site or this web page. Your callers cannot magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments. You cannot expect compliance with your orders until, if possible, you deliver them *directly* to your caller.
Whether you are called a debtor or some collector thinks you can flush one out, you have rights and options. Many are simple to exercise if you only learn how. You are entitled to proof of claim and fair treatment. If you get neither, the collection agency should *not* win your assets. You are granted control of how you are contacted, the right to dispute debt claims, and the means to sue violators at low cost. The FTC and the CFPB can start you on your homework. See also if your state laws grant additional or stronger rights.

Harassing calls from a debt collector?
