I recieved a call from "Monica" she was calling to verify my fax# (I have none) for claim verification and payment for a patient.  I was unable to discern any real information on who the patient was or what  insurance company they claimed to represent.  I did call back and left a message with no real information but that if they needed to contact me to call and leave an audible message.  No one is available to actually speak to you when you do call... hmmmm

I am getting repeated calls from Monica and Rose regarding the need to verify my patient billing department fax number. One said she was calling from MultiPlan and the other said she was calling from "the insurance company Cigna" and both gave the same reference number. One of them mentioned my name (though she butchered it in attempting to promounce it) and both had Indian accents and the phone line sound quality was abysmal.
I think it is a scam.

I actually called Cigna when I received a phone call from this number trying to confirm our business mailing address. ( I was thinking Scam) The Cigna employee told me that Multiplan actually is a company that they work with and that that company is a "pricer". Our business actually doesnt bill insurance so their idea to try to get us to accept lower fees to get claims processed faster will not work. But, just FYI, I was able to verify that this is an actual company that Cigna works with.

I'm a Chicago psychologist. Received a call from this 800 number. Indian accent claimed to be "Lena" from United Healthcare. I am not paneled with United Healthcare and suspected this was fraudulent so I decided to ask some questions. She stated that their headquarters are in Atlanta and the patient's name given was not one of my patients. She asked for the address of my billing department, which I of course did not give. I then called the 800 number back and received a disconnected/busy tone. I would definitely not give them any information. If you do happen to belong to the insurance company that they purported to be with, call the insurance carrier directly to ensure you are talking with a real insurance  representative before giving any information. I'm going to try to find out what government agency we can report this kind of suspected fraud to?

Claims to be calling about a client.  I don't work with insurance companies, AND it's always a foreign sounding voice.  They call several times and ask for my fax number and also give me a reference number to call back about.  I've blocked them before.

they are from Multiplan,if you are out of network provider, they represent United Healthcare and other companies to negotiate fee with you. they often ask for 45% off your fee and after that there are deductable, coinsurance so you got nothing left. if you do not response their fax, they will just hold your claim waiting so your claims will be processed very late. i think you should just tell them you dont want to negotiate and do not call you anymore.

Luck the posts above I just got a call from someone with a heavy Indian accent. This time they said they were calling from United Behavioral Health. I have provided out of network services to a couple of clients, recently a new one. Reading the above posts I suspect they are trying to get cut rate discounts if I join their network (vs. applying directly to UBH). They asked for the fax number of my billing dept. I don't use fax for billing, nor does my billing person. Won't be returning the call.

MultiPlan handles out of network billing for United HealthCare and others, offering reduced payments. It is supposedly to save their clients out-of-pocket payments. It is not a good deal because they lower the payable amount first, then take deductables, co-pay, and co-ins out of the payment.

The calls from India are from UHC. I talked to a woman at MultiPlan who was very helpful and was obviously based in the US. She would not comment on whether or not this was a good deal for me. She did say that they were sent automatically from UHC because I am billing out-of-network. There is no way to stop this or opt out.

For quicker turn around, fax the Expedited Agreement back with "DECLINE" written on it. If you don't reply it will add 10 business days before your claim is processed by UHC, and delay your payment.

Call all the time wanting Tax ID and fax number on behalf of Cigna.
Said trying to process claim for one of our patients. Told caller our tax ID
is on our claims as well as mailing address and they could requested information
by mail. They are always dumb founded and never request by mail. From reading
post I wouldn't give any information they should already have anyway.

Got a call from these clowns today.  Woman with an oriental accent, claiming her name was "Daisy," asked for fax number.  Also gave a bogus patient name.  Called me on my cell (during work hours), told her I didn't have any patient's with the name she provided, then as soon as I hung up, she rang my work phone.  Scumbags.

I just received several calls from 866-331-6256. I just decided to return the call. The lady name was Rose with a thick Indian accent and talked very fast. However when I called back a man with same accent answered the call. He wanted my name & number I refused to give it to him. I advised him to not call my number again if I get another call I will find a way to report this number and by the way I am not a drs office or hospital.

The call I received asked if they had reached the billing department for one of our doctors.  The caller also had a thick Indian accent and I promptly told them not to call again.

This is an Indian call center hired to find out your contact information for a claims negotiating company  (PMCS).  This call will be followed up by a call from a negotiator who will ask you to accept a discount on your medical claims (why you would do that I can't imagine).  They are not Multiplan and they actually got your name from a list of providers who will not negotiate.  The list is generated by Multiplan.  Just another scam to get you to accept lower reimbursement!

This is Preferred Medical Claim Solutions of Scottsdale, AZ.  9060 E. Via Linda, 85258   What are they offering; most states require that providers be paid in 30 days!  Wahoo!  It's a joke!  It's not Multiplan!  Call your insurance department and see if they are even allowed to do business in your state.

A call center seeking your contact information so they can harass you with proposals designed to get you to accept a discount on your claims.  A joke and probably a scam.
