Why would you accept any discount for your services?  Aren't they worth what you bill?  This is just silly.  Most states require that you be paid within 30 days anyway.  It is nice of you to save Allied Benefit money -- your patient doesn't know or care!

There is no claim.  They just want to send you a proposal to get you to discount all your future claims.  There is no claim.  Do not fall for this.

Contact your attorney general and your insurance department.  Multiplan generates a list of providers who will not negotiate with Multiplan.  They send this list, every month, to companies like Preferred Medical Claim Solutions (PMCS) to have them try to negotiate with the provider.  However, if Multiplan has not sent complete contact information PMCS has outsourced (another reason to love them) to an Indian firm to call and get your contact information.  Once they have it, you will be contacted by a negotiator.  Keep in mind they do not have any claim from you.  You are not helping your patient by discounting.  You are helping the insurance company.  Don't fall for any of this.  When they start discounting their salaries, you can discount  your fees!

It is not Multiplan, call PMCS, Preferred Medical Claim Solutions, in Scottsdale, AZ and tell them to stop or better yet call your insurance department and see if they are even authorized to do business in your state.

After they have your contact information, a negotiator will call you to get a discount on all your claims.  They will give you crap about getting more patients and getting payment faster.  You will get no more patients; they do not do any steerage.  You are entitled in most states to payment within 30 days without their help.  Be smart; hang up.

This is a company called Stratose based in Atlanta and out to negotiate a discounted rate on your claims.  Report them to the insurance department in your state.

Totally a rip off.  Just want your contact information to send you proposals to discount your claims.  It is either Stratose (Atlanta) or Preferred Medical Claim Solutions (PMCS, Scottsdale, AZ).  Multiplan sends all these sleazy companies a list every month of providers who will not negotiate with Multiplan.   Call your insurance department.

Have received multiple calls from this number today. Every time I pick up I only hear two LOUD, high pitch beeps, then complete silence. I tried calling them back. It rings several times before becoming a busy signal. I guess I'll just pick the phone up then immediately hang it back up.

Both PMCS and Multiplan are quite transparent about the produce they're selling to insurance companies - teams of negotiators who seek to negotiate with the provider to sign on to reduce the fee they'll accept, and especially agree not to balance bill the client as an out of network provider.

We get these "proposals" all the time, from companies like Stratose and MultiPlan - they always claim we are out of network with the insurance company, which is not the case 9 times out of 10. We never accept these proposals - we always fax them back with the word "DECLINED" in fat black letters on the signature line, with a copy of the rate grid from our contract with the payer. They still call back to try and haggle some more - most recently, they were attempting to negotiate our billed amount (which was billed at the contracted rate for this payer) on a commercial insurance claim, down to an amount that is less than the Medicaid rate for the service. They are out of their minds!

Word to the wise - especially when dealing with United Healthcare (which applies to United Behavioral Health, Medica & anything else where you see the "Optum" logo) - they are already planning on discounting your rate if you ARE out of network, and deductible/coinsurance/copay still applies to the measly amount these companies will offer, so it's really not worth it. You are not required to accept it, and chances are very good that you'll end up getting paid more in the end if you do not.

I agree wholeheartedly.  This tactic is insulting as well as bullying. It does not respect or honor the good work that I do and services that I provide to my clients. It’s incredibly offensive and I agree it should be illegal.
