They called my work phone.  A lady asked for angie ortega. I said she had the wrong number.  Then she said when did you get this number, yesterday?  She was very rude.

I have had this happen with Citizen's bank as well as this company. Get annoyed and say something like "I told you a hundred times the person you're looking for no longer has the number, I don't know them, I'm not related to them. Please remove me from your list." This usually works. Also try calling the number back and whoever you get, explain that you keep getting calls and they have the wrong number. With Citizen's Bank, I had to do it 3 times and talk to a supervisor. With Alliance it wasn't as difficult. Though I did get a call in error a week later and called back and said I had been removed from their list. Hope this helps.

Just got another call and hang up.  Called the number back and JOSH answered.  I hung up on him and he calls me back asking for some one, no idea who this person is. Are these people to dumb to call information so they get someone with the same last name.  They even call at 8:15 AM and 8:30 AM!

Two more calls today and I still know no one by the name of AMY.  They should try a phone book.

I was the one who responded about a month ago. Turns out Alliance called me again even though I was supposedly removed from their list the last 3 times.

I suggest that you file a complaint with the FTC. I did especially since it wasn't my debt. Even if it if your debt they're calling about, they have guidelines they must follow. Check out the FTC site first though.

You can file your complaint at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ it takes 5 minutes if you are not the person responsible for the debt and may take a bit longer if you are responsible.

Get several calls each week from this number.  They never leave a message.  They are calling a new cell phone number I picked up about 6 months ago, probably looking for the person who had this number before me.  I may consider sending a letter, but for now I just do not answer this number when I see it on the screen.

Got a prompt "please hold for representative", then was told to please call the company back after a 2 minute hold period.

Got several calls from this number looking for someone who does not live here. REAL ATTITUDES.

I bought my daughter a cell phone about 6 months ago.  This # started calling it about 3 months ago looking for a "Julia".  Last night, I called the # to ask them to stop & the person said  Hi, Julia (not me or my daughter) I freaked. Caller ID! I said I wasn't Julia, that whoever they are, they have the wrong phone #, to please stop calling & that they were calling my daughter during school.  The woman had the audacity to ask me why does a 12 year-old have cell anyway?  (My daughter is a diabetic.) When I asked, what did you say?!!!  She hung up.  I called back 3 times and reamed each person out Until I got their address.  2 hung up on me when I asked.  Who do they think they are?! Unbelievable.  I never shouted, nor did I cuss, but did let them know how appalled I was at being questioned about the choice I made about MY daughter.  I went to my state's AG office where there is a link to email a complaint.

This is Alliance One..a credit collection. I was paying them until I wanted to see what is going on with my account..like when the heck I was going to be done paying. Got on the net to look up the company and freaked bc of the negative comments. I tried calling ANY number for them and left MULTIPLE messages for them to call. Even telling them if they don't return my call I was going to close my bank account. They never called back, so I closed my bank account. NOW they are calling again..cell phone..work phone. So, I plan to chew their [***] out tomorrow when they call my work.

These people started calling about 2 years ago, looking for a linda. It stopped a while back, and then BAM!! Today it is starting again. Same Linda, so I wonder if there realy is a Linda using our number repeatedly and can't pay her damn bills. Either way, I get the third degree when I try to convince them I am not her. They say, "How do I know you aren't LInda?" and I reply, " My lawyer can send you a letter.!!!" Then they hang up.

They've been calling me off and on for the past three months. I just have a filter set-up through google voice that sends there phone number to another voicemail that I don't listen to, nor can I hear it ring. It's funny, though, when I log in and see how many times they have called me.

Yup...I owe the debt. But, I've been laid off, have no money...and have told them that. They don't seem to care and keep calling back like I'm going to hit the lottery or something. That's when I decided to just have the call directed elsewehere.

If this is Alliance - I believe they also use a couple of other numbers:  888-214-7818 and 866-204-3659.  Those numbers started calling me when I did not answer 866-367-6660.  When I called the numbers back from my work no., the message is identical on all 3 numbers.

Received a call from this number asking for my ex fiancee whom I left in california. I now reside in Wisconsin and he has no clue to what my number is. When I asked the girl how my number was associated with him and how they got it she refused to answer saying they needed his permission to tell me. Then she proceeded to ask me if I could give him a message. If you are calling a home you should be able to give information as to how you received the phone number especially with people using other peoples credit these days. Atleast reveal the company something. Just stop calling already

Earlier this year, I had received 60+ calles from several of their phone numbers to my home, work, and cell.  Then, after I sent a Cease and Desist letter, the calls stopped. A couple of days ago, the calls started...first at home and on my cell. For the last two days, they called my work and a woman told my boss to have me call her asap.  Today, they left a message that said, "This phone call is for (my name) and if you are not (my name) then do not listen to the message.  After 3 seconds the message is for (my name).  We were contacted by ***** to collect a debt   If you do not contact us then *****."  then they proceeded to threaten me with legal proceedings!!!!!!  First, do not threaten me.  Second, I checked with *** and they said they don't contract 3rd parties.  They collect their own IF I was behind...which I'm not.  Third, it is against the law to leave information about a situation like this on a machine!!!  What if it was the wrong number (like some of the complaints listed on here)!!  Who is the h--l would not listen to a message that says "do not listen to this message".  How stupid!!!  I am going to copy and paste this on to a form from FTC.  DO READ THIS MESSAGE IF YOU ARE ALLIANCE!!!!

It's Alliance One Debt collections... if they are calling you erroniously, you can sue them, and force the calls to stop. Khron and Moss law firm is handling mine through email and phone correspondence.

This is a debt collection agency. Alliance One in Emerald, PA. They also call from other numbers 800-858-4284, 800-858-1037, 651-255-2147. They often leave very pleasant messages. When you call them back they are rude, demeaning, and accuse you of lying. If you are not who they are looking for, they will continue to call you no matter how many times you tell them "there is no one here by that name".

Go to "Area Code Help.com"  They say "charges [from ac 866] are paid by the party called instead of the caller"  the longer they can keep you on the line the more they can bill.

Got a call from this number asking for Mr. Butler.I said there is no Jeff Butler that lives here. Then they wanted to know my name. I told them my first name. He said his name was Adam. And proceeded to tell me that Jeff Butler left my number as an only contact number. He said he really needed to get in touch with him because he had an important file from Minnesota. He does not live in that state, has never lived there. He said oh I know that.He's in Texas(where I live?,LOL).

He said I seemed to be a little hesitant about answering his questions. I said that's because I didn't know who there were. He said my name is Adam, I already told you that. I said what company are you with. He said Alliance One. But what kind of company are you?

Said he was a financial company. I said that doesn't tell me anything because there are all kinds of 'financial' companies out there. I asked if he was some kind of loan company or some thing else. He asked why? Does he get a lot of calls from loan companies?

I said how the heck was I supposed to know that he doesn't live HERE!!

Very persisting. Even suggested I give him there # so he could call them back!

I've gotten 8 phone calls yesterday from 866-367-6660 and 2 on Friday from 651-255-4051. All of them have just been hang ups. I finally caught the last one at 8pm last nigh from 866-367-6660t. It was a girl asking for "Scott". I assured her very rudely I do not know Scott and to NEVER call me again. I then called the number back and got "Matt" I told him he is to NEVER call my number again and make all the necessary measures to ensure this does not happen again. He said he will do what he can. I told him that if I receive another phone call, I will be calling back and asking for him. After reading these comments, I do not think this will happen. I hope someone calls me from one of these numbers today, I want to make someone cry.
