It says its telus but the menu is a little different then if you call the real number I think its a little sketchy

What most people don't know is that publicly available numbers can be "spoofed" and used by disreputable telemarketing companies to be a pain in the behind. Call Telus, complain...I did because no one in our home uses their services.  This number is also listed, after a quick Google search, as a number for  AlphaSearch Group Inc. in MI....you get my point?

im from Ottawa/Ont region.
I called back its "TELUS" well....its not, i called REal telus from my mobile (*611) asked them if they have any Telus provider with the phone number of 18663699826. she did a quick search for me, couldnt find it.
she said Sometimes Telus does call and sometimes they do hang up just to see if you cell phone works...which makes sense, but God...calling once a week is stupid. She said that you shouldnt tell them anything. At all. just hang up. or dont answer. i put it in my contact lest as "[***] pretend their telus" that way ill know next time they call just dont bother. hang up.

everytime they call they ask for my dad(and they know his name) because my phone is under his name(im not old enough)
i say hes not here and they say they will call back, they do...after a week or two.

-If it was the Real Telus(i say real i mean your provider.)
so they would email you if you have an online acount with them, or atleast send you a letter because they do know your adress.

-if it was the real telus they would call back after a few days or atleast ask When your dad will be home.(when they ask for him)

This is OBVIOUSLY a scam of some sort.
not sure what they do, what they want, or who it is.

But what i do know is that its not Telus, and they dont even know who or what it is.
you can try call telus(*611 from your mobile) and ask them, but they dont know.

i guess what we or one of us can all do is get a complain to your city?
that there is some scam going on...because calling Telus and complaing wont work.



The number that calls us all, is not even updated Telus.
If you call (*611) they will tell you about the new plan going on about the texting that is 15 cent...
but the fake telus thing wont even say it it goes straight to the menu.

Seriously...its understandable, it is not telus.

This number rang up at today at 1935 local - I'm in Mississauga, but as is my policy, if I don't recognize the I don't answer. I think I'll just set my ring volume to zero and they can ring until the cows come home.

I called the number and was forwarded to the Telus privacy phone agent.  After explaining the problems (when I answered there was no reciprocal answer), the agent tried the number and whilst that happened I was disconnected.  The agent did not return my call, she did have my number.  I have just sent an email to Telus describing the problem and todays events.

This stupid number keep calling me.  Should I contact them to request them to remove my number from their contact list?

I got a call from this # too. Tonight was my second call from them I got myt 1st one July 26th. Of course I never get to my phone on time to see if any one is there.

I got two calls today from this number, but I never answer 1-800/888/866/whatever numbers I don't recognize. No message was left either time. Upon calling the number back, I got "Thank you for calling TELUS".

Sigh.

My service provider is Fido... not telus..

We got a call from this number. It turned out to be a Telus Mobility telemarketer. She was actually pretty good with us on the phone and had a killer deal for us.

Ya we got the same call, but the package offered to us was a MAX 45 and we can't find it on the website either... this sounds fishy if you ask me.

1-866-369-9826- not a Telus number- I work for Telus. its a scam . They are looking for personal information to use. NEVER give them your SIN number or home address or  any other information. not even your pin.

They call everyday and when I call back it says that it's Telus. What is this?

I called Telus and it is Telus they advised me that they will remove my number from the list and they will not call again. Hope this works.

This number has just called me... i am still on the phone with them. It appears I am listening into someone ELSES converstaion at the moment, I can only hear one side of it though and they cannot hear me...
Hung up and called the number back and it is in fact Telus. Just waiting to see if they were calling me about my bill or if it was an accident.

I got a call from this number and it was about a "brand new" MAX 45 offer from TELUS. I looked a few pages back on this site and i saw they were offering the same offer 4 months ago. I was incredibly sarcastic to the marketer. He was a lot of fun to mess with. I drove him crazy!

Bravo! Well said. Ironically, mine is the first "thumbs-up" you got. People don't like to be told they're idiots, especially if they are. Obviously, it's a tele-marketer. Ignore it. However, some fools need to call every unknown (or wrong) number on their call-displays.
To them: "Get a life."
