- John replies to JohnI just spoke with CVS/Caremark and am able to say with 100% certainty this number does not belong to them.
IT IS BEING SPOOFED. - meagainThis was an unidentified phone call which left a message purporting to be Caremark with a phone & pin number as others have reported. But the CVS site itself warns against calls like this from numbers other than their own number & suggests they're fraudulent. The voice mail message we got sounded sketchy & not at all like the usual CVS Caremark recording guy and that generated plenty enough doubt for us to question the wisdom of calling the number they left to contact them with.
So my recommendation is to forget about the number they ask you to call, definitely do not punch in what they call a "pin code" & if you think CVS/Caremark may have a legitimate reason to call you, initiate contact with them yourself through the number on the back of your card or the one you find on their other materials &/or website.
As others here have pointed out, even if this were a legit Caremark call, then they are asking their customers to engage in risky communications that the FCC, Homeland Security & major consumer welfare groups explicitly caution the public not to do.
Certainly you're in no way obligated to use the questionable number they give to contact "CVS", you can contact them directly at any time using their official contact number with little extra effort on your part, so my advice is to play it safe, forget using whatever unidentified number & official sounding "pin code" they instructed you to use & instead use the number on your card if you think the legitimate company may have a legitimate reason to contact you.- Caller: "800 Service"
- miker| 1 replyNo Caller ID Name. I got 69(!) attempted calls over the course of 2 days, most of them just seconds apart. It was not a problem for me because I block all 8NN numbers so I never knew it was happening. In any event this is not CVS Caremark behavior. Most likely this is a scammer faking the Caller ID number to a number you might legitimately do business with. Whatever you do, don't press any "PIN" numbers or provide any personal information. If you're concerned that it might really be CVS Caremark, just hangup and call the number on the back of your card.

- Deb| 1 replySCAM! Said the have status update on Rx order & said use 6 digit code when call back. I called CVS Caremark (number on my card) to verify. CVS never called & confirmed they’d never ask for SSN or contact customers in that manner.

- H. Jones| 3 repliesThis is one of CVS Caremark's numbers to call people back on their prescription refill. I just had ordered refills but they were unable to get the doctor to call in for renewal. They asked me to call my doctor and provide him with their number. Unfortunately, they do not provide caller ID, so I let the first call go to voicemail.
I understand that scammers are spoofing phone numbers (I remember the famous Apply number spoof) but this is a legitimate number.- Caller: CVS Caremark
- Call type: Valid
- H. Jones replies to H. JonesI meant the Apple number scam, not Apply. Sorry. Also, CVS did not ask for SSN, only for year of birth and gave a reference number for call back.

- Kat* replies to Godbepraised112421You know, you only needed to post your story once. There was no need for you to keep replying to people who haven't been here for months if not years.
- Lillian Bonetti866-430-1891 was an automated message that was asking to say "yes" or "no" to verify my name, then asked for my full birthdate. CVS should realize that this type of call is very suspicious. There was not an option to speak to a representative or dial "0" for operator. I did not complete the callers information request and hung up. I do not like this system of CVS (if that truly who it was) in trying to contact me on my phone.

- Retired Librarian| 1 replyCall from this number - in display, above number, it said "800 Service," claimed to be CVS Caremark calling about a recent prescription. First thing they tried to do, by asking if I was [by name] and telling me to reply Yes" or "No." Although I had a recent prescription sent, knew this was a scam and hung up. Checked to see if they were using a spoofed number by calling it back - they answered "CVS Caremark." Since I was almost certain it was a scam, called my mail away pharmacy to report it; they confirmed it was a scam call. Also, if I remember correctly, 800 Service is what used to come up in the display when the fraudulent "Canadian Pharmacy" used to call.

- Koytch replies to Retired LibrarianYes, it's a scam. Got a call today ,and now gives you a code number to enter, which looks like a 7 digit phone number. If you call the real CVS Caremark number, they will tell you it's a scam.
- ElleYes, also happened to me eerily after I called caremark myself yesterday. Same number, voicemail messagewith a pin about a " recent prescription". I called CVS caremark, they found no outbound calls on my account
