This company is a complete scam i received a few calls from a so called joseph from ffg not saying who they are calling for or why just that they had a mtter here that may or not affect me about a check i wrote so i called them back and they said that i wrote a check to nor star cash for a payday loan which is not true first of all its an online payday loan no check was actually given and secondly i live in CA and Norstar cash is illegally ocnduction business in CA i recently found out and also they said they were going to sure me for check fraud whihc is load of crap because in the state of CA going defaulty on a pay day loan is not considered writing a bad check because its postdated check they know that when the funds are issued you odnt have any funds otherwise you would not be getting a payday loan anyways i was scared at the time when they told me this so i agreed at the time to make a pymt arrangement and provided them my debit card like an idiot but then i decided to do some research and found this and several other blog postings all with the same story just like mine so i cancelled ouit my debit card so they cant steal my money but seriously FFG is total complete scam do not give them any money

A man named Joseph from alleged FFG and associates called and left a voice message stateing that I need to contact him in reagrds to verification of a check that I had wrote.

I got a call at work from Joseph at 866-443-6985 wanting me to call him about a check I wrote for security purposes.  I never write checks so I know this is not legit.  Is there a company call this?

I got a call today just exactly like the one you received from someone called Joseph.  He is calling me a work and it is definitely annoying.

I have gotten several called from (904) 507-4019 number who finally left a message.

Saying: Hi my name is Joseph if you could please call me back about a check you wrote that we are missing information on. Once again contact Joseph at 1-866-443-6985.

I called back thinking it was a mistake since I haven't hard a checking account in over 3 yrs but Joseph was unavaliable so I spoke to a lady name Ashley Quick. She informed me that she was trying to give me a chance to settle a payday loan from Advance America in the amount of $575. She told me that If I was not able to come up with half in 24 hrs she would go ahead and send to court to sue me. She said if it go's to court they can get 3 times the orginal amount. I ask her to send me information about the debt or settlement and i would take care of it. She told me no that she would email me a letter say that they were a debt collector and there information.

I don't know what to do. I just got laid off and want to take care of this matter but the time frame they give I can't do. Can they really garnise my pay for 3 times the amount?

If you demand proof of the original loan, and they don't send it to you and file it with the the court, the court system will not set a court date. I know this from experence. I have had many lawsuits dropped for just this reason.

Left message it was about a check so I knew it wasn't for me.  I called them back.  The had my number incorrectly attached to their account.  The lady was very nice and told me they would remove the number.

This website may help as well it gives you state law regarding a bad check because i was going through the same thing i had taken out a payday loan and ended up not being able to pay and these scam artist are trying to say that it is check fraud now im not sure about every state but in most the law states that when given a postdated check such as you do on a pay day loan it is not considered writing a bad check because of the fact it is postdated and not payable on demand check your state and know your rights as a consumer dont let these scum bags trick you

I just received a message at home and work from Joseph at FSG & Associates "regarding a check that I wrot and they needed to verifiy some information."  I haven't written a check expcept to pay my rent (which goes to my parents) and all checks written have been cleared.  An obvious way to extort money or identity from me.  I am not calling them back.

This is a scam collection agency...Say to Call Joseph about needing check info. DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE and give them any info. They will drain your checking accounts and put on credit cards without permission. JUST FYI!!!

Well I just got my first call from Mr. Martinez with FFG & Assoc. 866-443-6985 who told the person who answered the phone at my office that he wanted to speak with me regarding a bad check.  First off I don't have a checking account so I could not have written a bad check.  Second off, they refuse to provide anything in writing or an address.  Until they do, I will document their calls and their threats.

Same as above: "Joseph" (if it's the same person he must be a really busy person!) called and left message saying he needed me to call back re: a check I wrote for "security purposes".  Apparently a SCAM.  won't answer this number.  I don't answer numbers I don't know just because there are so many nuts out there!
He also said he was with FFG & Associates and to call 1-866-443-6985.  The number on my caller ID was totally different!
These low-lifes must stoop very very low to have this "job"!

I think I figured out how these people are getting the phone numbers. I got an e-mail from a Dr. Tunde Lemon with Bank of Nigeria, saying I had a debit card with thousands on it,ready to be sent, all I had to do was send back my name address and phone number.No harm huh ? They are scammers also. Be careful, its all connected. Don't give out your phone number on-line.

I got a call today but they came through on an area code from where I live, so I answered it.  The guy Daniel ext 217, asked me questions saying I owed money to a Cash-Star which I never even heard of.  I told him that I will call him when I get home for I am at my place of employment and cannot speak, he was rather very nice.  I have dealt with scum like this before, infact I am sueing another collection agency.  If you are being harrased by these kind of people, there is a law firm Krohn & Moss, that sue them at no cost to us.

I am getting calls from Joseph and in Ft Lauderdale he calls from 954-633-7610

I keep getting this call from this number 973-679-7958 regarding a check that I know nothing about cause I don't write check and I would like for these calls to stop

I get the exact same call every single day at work and on my cell from 'Joseph' at FFG & Associates saying he needs to talk to me about a check I wrote, and needs to go over some information for security purposes. He gives me a callback number of 866-443-6985, but he's calling from a 559 area code. That's Fresno, which is near where I live.

He never says WHO he is calling for, but even if it's me, I expect to know what's going on before I give any info.
