- jutaymoEveryday Joseph leaves a message on my voicemail at work after hours, @ 866-443-6985, he states he is from FFG, calling regarding a check I wrote, to call him back to verify information for security information, I called back right away, as I don't write checks. But when you try to find out information about them they constantly hang up.
- Caller: FFG
- been through thisThey will not take you to court. Just ask for proof in writing, they will never send you anything.
Good luck- Caller: FFG
- ralph30 replies to R| 18 repliesFFG is not listed as a company acredited with the BBB. I checked in Maryland, that is where I live and they have not filed any lawsuits against anyone. I work for an attorneys office and I dont believe this company is legit. They would not give me their address to send correspondence to and wanted to send me an email. I told him that I would not accept an email and that I wanted his address. I also advised him that FFG was ordered a cease to collect in April 2009. He told me to have my attorney handle this issue and then hung up on me.
- ralph30 replies to ralph30| 16 repliesOh. By the way it is illegal for FFG to misrepresent that they calling about a check when they are calling about a collection debt. They must notify what company they are collecting for at the time of the call or message left and that their call is "an attempt to collect a debt and any information may be used against you for that purpose". Not once have they given me that information or statement. Therefore, they are conducting business illegally and suit can be filed against them in return.
- Paul| 2 repliesThey had a police officer serve me court papers today! Who are these people? Why was I not notified before they sue me?
- Caller: Ffg
- BUBBLES replies to PaulYeah, nice try Paul. First of all, police officers do not serve court summons papers; it's service processors who do that. And also, if you are being sued, what is your case #? It's public info if you really are being sued—cough up that case #.
Case#????? - Your a liar replies to PaulYou are such a scum bag.
Exactly, what is the case number? - Jen| 1 replyI was sued by FFG about 2 months ago. Was served court papers, went to court, they were granted a judgement and I was ordered to pay the debt plus the legal fees. Well I never did anything about it and today was my pay day and they are now garnishing my pay! They took the first payment right out of my pay check. They are taking 22% of my gross pay! Wow this is not good! I'm struggling as it is already. I warn you people on this site who say not to pay them and that they are a scam etc. They sued me and are now garnishing my wages! I wish I would have worked with them! I'm going to close my checking accounts because my attorney told me they can and will cease my funds in my bank accounts too! It's sad that some people must learn the hard way like myself! My bill has more then doubled and now I'm paying it anyway! I should have just paid the stupid bill when they gave me the chance! Good luck people!

- Hi Jen! replies to JenNice try, 'Jen,' I notice in your fevered facebook update here, that there are zero details about the original debt. Guess you, like the rest of the supposed 'deadbeats' here, just plumb forgot about it, eh? Seems like it would be pertinent...
Have you read these boards? Have you had round the clock phone calls from some scumsucker secondary and tertiary party hound you? About someone else's debt?
"cease my funds"? is that some correspondence course legalese? Par for the course.
There are legitimate debt collection agencies. Who have to go after legitimate debtors. Tough mess. But life ain't "Dog, the Bounty Hunter," so cut the crap with your supposed sob story.
They don't pull the heavy handed tactics as described here. Guess you got played. Sorry 'bout that. 'Jen.'
In debt? You still have rights. Don't let these maggots scare ya.
Prohibited Harassment
Debt collectors can call you and request that you pay the debt. However, they cannot harass you or abuse you. These are the types of things that they should not do:
* Use obscene or profane language.
* Make repeated frequent calls to annoy you.
* Telephone you without identifying themselves.
* Use threats of violence or harm against you.
* Threaten to arrest you if you do not pay the debt.
* Threaten to take action such as lawsuits, garnishments, or taking your property unless the collector intends to do so and it is legal. (Creditors must usually take you to court and get a court "judgment" against you before they are able to garnish your wages in Missouri.)
Debt collectors cannot make false statements about themselves or the debts. They cannot misrepresent:
* they are government officials;
* that you have committed a crime;
* that they work for the "credit bureau";
* that the papers you received are legal summonses
or legal papers, if they are not;
* the amount of your debt; or
* that there is an attorney involved, if there is not.
Debt collectors are also prohibited from:
* depositing a post-dated check before it is due;
* threatening to take your property unless it is legal to do so;
* contacting you by postcard. - Tony P.| 1 replyI just got a letter from FFG that says I have seven days to pay my debt or they will sue me!!! Literely that's what it says! I'll call them and work it out with them. I'm not going to be sued that's for sure. So many people are saying FFG is this and that but they wouldn't send a letter saying "seven days to pay or your sued" if they weren't really going to follow through with the lawsuit. They would have been shut down a long time ago for false threats! So this letter is good enough for me to want to pay the debt in which I owe anyway! This letter got my attention especially since it's signed at the bottom by an attorney!

- Irritated replies to annoyedI just received a call from a "Joseph" as well. He asked for me to call in regards to a check I wrote and wanting to verify information for security purposes. They call from "local" area codes but they've called so much that I let it go to voicemail if I don't recognize the number. He called from a 310-910 number and then called my cellphone from a 323-315-0212. Both are local numbers in my area but he left the 866-443-6985 number as a call back.

- deedee702OMG! I received a call from this phone number as well! Okay, I stand corrected... according to the caller ID, the phone number is 702-508-0093. It's also a "Joseph" regarding a check I wrote... well with my bank, I only deal with the plastic. The only time I used checks was when I first opened my account maaaaaaaaany years ago to arrange Direct Deposit. That's it. So right away, I knew he was a fraud... But I just checked around Google to be certain, and boy was my instincts right!!! I am not calling them back!
- R is a weirdo!!! replies to R| 1 replyWho is this "R" weirdo? He must be next in line to be sued! Poor guy! He talks the talk but when he's served court papers and goes to court will he walk the walk in front of the judge? Good luck!
