Received a call from "unidentified " saying he was Josh at Franklin Homes calling about my application for a Jet Blue credit card.  Gave this number to call back along with an ID number.  Never heard of Josh or Franklin Homes.  I've never had, or applied for a Jet Blue credit card.  Scam.

I got a call from this number saying someone was on the other phone claiming they were me. And they had my phone number and apparently they had a copy of my social security number and my driver's license. And gave me a fax number to fax my request to get a copy of it. Not sure what to do about that. However, I did call all three credit bureaus and I set up a fraud alert and purchase a year protection on all three accounts for one amount. When I created my password and went and to look the next day my password had been changed and I got an email that someone has changed my information. So now I'm not sure what to think.

I received a phone call and now a letter regarding an application from Barclays Bank. the phone number was 866-469-5977. It said my application needed additional information.  I already have my card and I will not call this number. The letter was not professional. It was obvious it was done by and jeck.

    Same letter...asking for additional information.

After being placed on hold, the person came back asking for the reference number my name and address, which was already on the letter. Then asked for my mobile number. I said I'm calling from it.
Put me on hold again after sating he would help report it as fraud. First thing he asked for when he came back....SSN and DOB. I told him no...not a chance. He said I would get a report from their fraud department. This was 1-866-469-5977.

Whether it is them or not, they do not need anything else from you other than the reference number. DON'T GIVE ANYTHING ELSE TO THEM.

Keep the cards you have locked and lock your credit reports if possible. Remember, you don't need to unlock your card for a reoccurring or preapproved monthly bill pay. You have already approved them. You can unapprove them at any time.

I received a letter stating "Thank you for your recent application for the Banana Republic Rewards Credit Card.  We have reviewed your application and determined that additional information is needed before we can process your request.  We need to verify information listed on your application.
Please call us within 30 days of the date of this letter (which was received 1 week plus one day later) or we will be unable to give your application further consideration.  You can reach us at 1-66-469-5977 (ADA/Accessibility Services - Please use relay services 711), 24 hours a day 7 days a week."  It was not signed, just closed with Sincerely, Barclays.  I called the number and talked to a woman with an accent.  She had me give her the application number, but also wanted My last four digits of SSN and my date of birth.  I informed her I do not give out that information.  She said she understood and she would try and help me with the application number.  The next day I received  text message.  The message said:  "This is Leo from Barclays application department and we just want to verify your recently submitted credit card application so please call us back as soon as possible.  Our number is 888-232-0776.  Thank you and goodbye."  When I called that number a girl with an accent asked for my last four of SSN and my DOB.  I told them I didn't give out that information to anyone.  She said they didn't have an application code or anything, so I must give them one of those identifiers.  I informed her I had received a letter the day before with an application number on it and gave that to another person.  She said well what is the application number and phone number.  I gave them those since they already had it.  She said they had to have the last four of the SSN and the date of birth or they could not help me.  I firmly told her NO, I DO NOT GIVE THOSE TO ANYONE.  Then something told me that I was speaking to a scammer and I lost my cool and informed her to keep that in mind and to also pass that information along to her cohorts.  She said I was not understanding that they could not help me without that information.  I informed her that she could go ahead and open an account with my name, but I have a fraud alert on all three credit bureau reporting agencies and I have checked and there were no inquiries made by Barclays Bank or Banana Republic so I did not think they were legitimate.  And furthermore, if they opened an account using my name, they would have to eat the transaction amounts because I have taken all precaution and I have also verbally stated that I did not want an account opened.  They continued to demand information, so I really lost my cool and told them to stick it where the sun does not shine.
