Same story as all the rest.  A Mr. Boykin called looking for my step-daughter.  She hasn't lived with us since she was 10 (she's 21 now).  Mr. Boykin was pushy and refused to tell me why he needed to speak to my step-daughter, claiming it was "confidential".  So, I refused to give him any information about how to contact her:-) I took a message and forwarded it on; but it felt fishy so I Googled the phone number.  I'm glad I did. Now I'm calling my step-daughter to tell her NOT to return the phone call.  I'll take care of it the next time they call here.

Called looking for someone I know.  Said they had put me down on her list of contacts.  Wanted to know how to find this person.  I didn't tell them anything and asked for their name and #.  They gave me: Micheal Wolfe at 866-471-7100 ext. 8971.  Caller Id read: Cti Inc 733-265-2600.  I called the number back and it just gave me a mailbox.

A voice message was left 07/23/08. She had my correct name and said she had been trying to reach me. She said it was a personal matter and I needed to call her as soon as possible. Sounded like her name was Seritha, 866-471-7100 x2608. I have no intention of returning the call particularly since I haven't received a notice by mail which is usual method for initially addressing an issue. And if she googled my name, she would have found current contact information.

Received call at my work number. No ID. Left voicemail telling me in a very rude tone (after he cleared his throat at the beginning - very obviously) telling me "You need to call me back. NOW. Drop everything. This is Mr. Walker. Mr. (clears throat) Corey Walker." Gave the phone number 866-471-7100 ext. 2609. Then went on to tell me "I don't mean to sound harsh."

Whatever.

I got a call from a "Mr. Darcy" ext. 3817 who said my name then "we need for you to call us back if this is something you want to resolve voluntarily" which really sounded like a threat.  I was a little nervous about the call because I didn't know why I was getting a call like that.  It's bittersweet to hear other people going through the same thing.  I am definitely getting in contact with someone who can help, otherwise they will never stop.

So did the FBI or anyone do anything about this number?

Ok, a company is NOT permitted by Federal Law to make ANY tyoe of threatening remarks. This includes threatening to take to court, turn over to an attorney, and you have a certain amount of time. If this happens, you are being asked to contact the FTC by following the link I will providfe. I have already done so with this company and am relaying what they told me to do.

Voicemail message left at my work number from a Ms. Megan at 866-471-7100 ext 2647. As the others, in regards to a personal business matter. I don't handle legitimate personal business matters at work so good luck with that, Megan. And, I don't have personal business matters that I'm unaware of.

Left voicemail ... first part was cut off.  Call 866-471-7100 ask for ext. 3100 ... look forward to speaking with you.  I called the number and it was answered by a computer ... CTI?

Thanks to all you guys!! My EX-father-in-law (from 9 years ago!!!) and my mother-in-law (who just moved here from three states away) BOTH got phone calls for my mother,who is 74, from "Scott" at this company. How in the world they connected them all together I'll never know, but they called and asked for my mom and any information for her. Luckily, they did not give it to him, and when I called back to ask how I could be of assistance to them "Scott" was very rude, very pushy. You can bet I'm not giving my mom's information out!! You guys all make me feel better for my decision. I will tell her NOT to call or have any contact with them. Thanks and God Bless!

I got a threatening call that I was going to get sued if I didnt settle a problem.I told them I didnt know what they were talking about and the man said he would call back. So I decided to research what it was before continuing and now after reading your comments Im definitively be cautious. Thanks for you comments.

Got a call at home from this number telling me i was under investigation...no clue what about...i called back and it was a recording...when i question the person on the other end they could not provide info that they should have had if this was a true call...beware..they even had a referance number....scam

didn't know who or what CTI was so didn't answer the call. After reading this I will NOT answer for sure!!

They call my company every week for an employee that is no longer here. AFter the first couple of calls I researched it and found this web site. I called back and said he didn't work here anymore.  The rep was rude as if it were a bother to take the info. They just left another message but with the 773 area code. First it was Mrs. Conley, now it's Mr. Conley. Mr Conley left a case # this time.

I got all your answers ladies and gentle man. First yall might hate me but I use to work at CTI and from what I read I did not call none of you since this were old messages but I'm going to cover everything about CTI.
First Cti is not a professional company. Is more like we city people like to call it ghetto. From old phones and especially the building cti has very rude and racist employees that swears in every sentence they use, even the managers lol. But about calling your family members all they do is they use a website call www.fastdataweb.com and search you (debtors) by your ssn, name, city, and state and it will show you a possible # or possible relatives #. Thats the reason why they are contacting all this relatives. Also when they ask your ssn they not doing any scam they are trying to pull your account just to let you know and also one hint. They can NOT call u more than 1 time a day is illegal under the FDCP (Think it meant Fair Debt Collection Practice) is a 24 hour rule ex. i call you monday im NOT suppose to call u tuesday but wendsday is the time to call u back. Also people from NY,NC, and CT they cannot leave a voice mail is Illegal in those states. Also this place is located in 3333 W. Arthington Chicago, IL take the second floor "ghetto" elavator turn to your left go all the way down thats the GHETTO office. About Scott I dont think you going to hear from him since he got laid off or fire on feb. Also you know why they threat you to pay this. The reason why is they are trying to hit their bonus goal. Ex you owe $1,200 and you paid it off I get 28% of that amount to hit my goal. So now why you know why they sound thirsty about when they say u got this much time, is bull sh*t you got any time as many as you want but of course fee are adding up every month you dont pay. And about Citi bank, this dont mean you got an citi bank it means you took out a credit card from a store for ex. they have good year and zale those r stores they work w/ citi bank. Just they let the whole info the employees are 90% African American,7 % hispanic, and 2% other. So all I did is answer peoples question and how unproffesional and racist this place is. Received call from Libby Kennedy left on phone message. Looking for another party giving that party SS# last four digit. Stating a claim had been filed yesterday and the party she was trying to reached needed a lawyer or she would represent the party in question. Libby stated she was trying to help the party before the situation became serious. Leaving tn 866-471-7100 ext 3232. Indicating this party must call or else.

Message was left on phone for me to give a message to my "dead ex-husband's" ex-girlfriend.  I called back and gentleman on phone was very nice, he told where he was from (Citi Bank) and the woman he was looking for skipped. I asked how he got my number he said they do a search of her SSN and friends, neighbors, relatives come up. Since she lived with my ex-husband at one time, they back tracked and found me thru his name.  Obviously she owes a lot or they are that desperate. Asked him to please remove me from the call list, he apologized profusely.  See if it works.
