- Jason Arr| 1 replyThis company says they are not debt collectors but mediators to help debtors get together with the bill collectors... sounds like a new sneaky bill collector line. BTW I am debt free so I do not know why I got this call. The caller mumbled so badly that he was nearly unintelligible and I had to have him repeat multiple times (kinda like the old Dick Tracey character Mumbles). I finally gave up and hung up.

- Ann H| 1 replyGot the call and the vm was basically yelling that if you knew the location of the person (me) then you are urged to call back to this 866-516-1743 and they gave a "case" number. Interestingly enough it came within minutes after another call from someone saying they were with PRN (PRM) and asked me to call 844-216-5647. I'm tired of dealing with threats and scammers.

- sarah| 1 replyThese people call with your ssn and tell you good luck in court, we are calling to settle a debt from 2010!!! From Cash Net. USA. She has no information but will send me to the processors to settle my debt. Doesn't know the dollar amount! Bull!!

- Mad as Hell!| 1 replyI've never gotten a loan from Cash Net USA PERIOD much less online. Complete [***]. And when I tried to tell her that (as I was pretty upset that she said they had my social security number and all of my other information) she got a total attitude with me and said that they would just forcefully take it from me. I asked her how they thought they were going to do that - she said they were submitting something to civil court. I told her that what they were doing was a [***] scam and shame on them and I hung up. [***].
- Caller: Global Mediators something something

- chapter 13I tried to let them know that I was filing chapter 13 and they told me to give my lawyer their phone number. This is something different that what my lawyer told me. He told me we needed to get all debtors information and turn it in to them. Something is fishy. She then told me that this was a promise to pay so it wouldn't go under chapter 13. My lawyer said this is incorrect. Scam

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers. - terry replies to sarahI have been receiving calls from the same number claiming to be Global Mediation Group. They claim that I mad an online loan with www.cashnetusa.com on August 24th of 2010. They had the last four digits of my SSN, and part of an old address, however, the city was wrong. The lady, Chandler Edwards, says that I was making payments from my checking account from August of 2010 to December or 2010 and then I just stopped paying... Yeah right! So, I contacted my back, and pulled my statements from that time frame (even though I know it was complete BS) and there was no record of me making payments to www.cashnetusa or receiving money from them. I contacted www.cashetusa and talked to customer service. They have no record of me EVER getting any type of loan from them and told me that it is a common scam. If these people contact you, just HANG UP!
- SRS| 1 replyCheck your credit report, if it's a real debt in collections it should be on your credit report. Otherwise ignore these calls.

- ACS2045This company goes by the name Global Mediation Group...They called my parents home stating we owed a debt...When I called them back they said it was from CashNet.USA. After arguing with them and them continuing to call my parents after being told to stop and also having the number for ME... I finally asked them did CashNet.USA know they were trying to collect illegal debts in their name....? So they got mad and hung up in my face.... I then called CashNet USA collections dept and had them look in their system for me.... They said that is company was NOT representing them and it was a fraud...So if they call you, you should let them know that you plan to contact CashNet USA and give them this companies phone number and that you know it's just a scam....
I did call Global Mediation back to let them know i had called CashNet, they no longer wanted to talk to me and will NOW not answer the phone ..... If you bother with these people let them know that you will be turning their information over to Cashnet or the police in their county to stop them....- Caller: Globla Mediation Group

- Bob JohnsonThis company will state inaccurate information about something or someone you may or may not know. They call this person a defendant as if a crime was committed. They refer to a bogus case number and tell you to call this number back for more information. Disregard this voicemail and or number. Block this caller if you can. Report these individuals if you can.
The lady that answered the phone was named Monica. If that was her real name. And she was so disrespectful on the phone it was hard to believe this was a legitimate business at all. No one in their right mind would stand to keep such a rude disrespectful person answering phone calls if this was legit.- Caller: They did not identify.
- coral perezSame thing calling and asking for a relative and to call urgently with his where about.
- OperatorBRobocall stating it is an attempt to locate XxXxXx.
If you know the location of the DEFENDANT please press 1, if not press 2.
Pressed 2 and it still tried to connect me with a representative.
I knew from the contents of the recording that it was not legit. No way can it be anything close to legal to say, on a recording, that you are trying to located a named person, then refer to them as the defendant.
These scumbags are getting bolder and bolder.- Call type: Debt collector
- AndreaMy sister in law just got a call like this looking for me with a case number. I tried calling this number back and I get forwarded to a voicemail that says group1007. There is no company name. I have gotten a call in the past and received a letter stating a I settle a debt with a cash advance but it is not on my credit report and I have no idea how they got her number. They called me the defendant and gave her a case number when I have not done anything wrong.
- doug thornleythese a**holes do not give info and hang up. I will find out where they are and pay them a visit.
- Caller: global mediation
- JBANAttn: 866-516-1743: You are considered a terrorist. i will not be accepting any calls from the number you used today, nor any future numbers you expect to use. We know you are a scam, get a friggin life, get a real job and pay back all your scams you have been running.

- tI have received the same type of calls but what I would like to know is how they are getting my family's info even my inlaws. Has anyone found out if this company is legit? When I saw that people said they were from a company called global mediation the number that called me did not match with the number of their website. Also when I did 3 reverse checks on the number I couldn't pull a company's name or anything. If anyone can pass on any information that they may have found please let me know

- XI just got a call from this number. They left a voice mail but it was mostly dead air.
- MollyA new low... get this...
A former relative from almost 20 years ago is the reason I am getting calls from these jokers! I live outside the US but retain my phone ... so not knowing what was going on I spent time to try to figure out why they had the wrong number. Nope just casting a wide net to bully as many as possible into shaming or embarrassing someone into contacting them. I never spoke with anyone because they don't answer their phones or have any recordings. 1st clue.
The posts here helped me so here is my story in the event it can help someone else!
Msg goes something like this... If I know where to find the 'defendant', my former relative 'John Doe' please press 1. Ignored that one. Today the message is as if I am the defendant ... blah blah blah if I want to settle this before being served a summons at my home or place of work. And oh yeah this message is for John Doe, my former relative. How are they associating me with him is ridiculous.... using my phone and my time to do their sleazy bullying is disgusting. No company name given... but they did give an individual's name and a case number.
Hang up and don't spend any time on this!!! Or keep them on the phone for an hour asking stupid questions and WASTE their time!!!
