I didn't think this forum was for/against President Obama. I just wanted to find out if there was any info on this 25k grant approval that I got in the mail. Wow, I'm sorry I stumbled across this white vs black thing. Obama will have supporters as well as opposers, what president didn't?

Just received my letter today stating the same $25,000 could be mine from the government.  I called the number and as soon as it said "and for only $59.00 we will send you the information" I knew right then it was a scam and hung up the phone, so I googled as well and here I am with all of you.  Thanks for all the information

I got a card in the mail today saying that i was approved for government funds for $25,000.00. The phone number was 1-866-576-9176.That i have a 36 hours deadline response from time of receipt. The address was G.F. Institute Kansas City Kansas. I knew it was fake from the jump.

I recieved an email offering me a military grant set aside for prior serving military and I called on it for assitance with down payment funds for a new home.  They wanted me to invest $65 to process the paperwork.  I called the VA and they had no record of this company.

I think all of those email cash offers are bull!

what the hell is wrong with these people, they need to be arrested! I am so pissed off about this! I feel like calling them and yell at the lady you talk to! I wonder why the authorities dont do something!

My 87 year old keeps receiving these scams, I spoke to the post master in NYC, the ONLY way we can stop these people is to return this mail “return to sender” or “deceased” the original sender will have to pay return postage…there is no other way to stop them! What is our world coming to…

I just received a letter in the mail stating for me to reply within 36 hours if I would like to claim my $25,000.

I have taken the time to call the number, under the *67 option on many phones today, and this mailing is simply an advertisement getting people to purchase materials that can show you how to apply for grants that you may or may not receive.  In addition, the $59.00 price tag plus the $10.00 shipping fee was more than enough to end the call quickly.
I think that everyone has the right to decide to participate or not.  We are all adults & if what is taking place is illegal then I am sure that some government agency would have investigated & closed the business.
As for the individual who claims that, we, as a nation voted the wrong person into office is simply voicing their opinion.  Yes, the wrong person was voted in office is why we have lost too many soldiers to a war fueled by angry & haste!  Yes, the wrong man was into office and that is why Sept. 11, 2001 will live w/ us forever.  Now is a time that the right person has stepped in, because we as a nation realized that the wrong man was in office too long and so now our nation is in the state that it is in...NEED I SAY MORE?

Wow did you hit the nail on the head, i made the statement about how i have the term african-american, and i too was immediately called a racist. if you were born and raised in america you should not be called anything but an AMERICAN. as for our 'african-american' president, he is taking away things that should be increased like healthcare, and jobs for those of up that are now or should be called the minority! sorry he that offends any one but i applied for a job that i was very much qualified for and was declined because i am white, and the minorities needed to be hired.

The so call company's well have there turn and I hope they like the mess they dish out. 1 last thing if we can let's try to keep a eye on the elderly and our young brother and sister they are more likly to fall for it. I am a 28 year old woman that know if we take care and teach about what's going on. Other's mite be spear a hard lesson of just cause it sound good don't mean to take it, look in to it first. remember if it's to good to be true it most likly is.

I didn't get a phone call but I got the "approved notice".  I also knew it was a scam.  Aren't we supposed to inform the Post Office so they can investigate and stop these?  The elderly and the poor are most likely to do something like this and lose $.

Obama a good man- so is Acorn a good organization- the Reverend Wright a staunch American- wake up pal the politicians and all of them are in this for themselves- money and power on all levels- if I ran I would give up my birth certificate and my college transcript. oh this is not racism- Bush screwed up dozens of times- and the Congress today is sucking us all dry-so why defend
the indefensible? the last good man in Washington-would have been a public servant-not a politician. by the way Obama is bi-racial-as much white as black. I would have liked Condoleezza Rice or the former prosecutor from Ohio
who is educated articulate and black. not only is this grant program a scam but Acorn has been scammed by CCI. why don't you get to the bottom of that can
of worms. there is too much hatred on all sides because of a culture of mis-education. that gets to all races, colors and creeds. can't we work together and get rid of corruption? take off the blinders. it hurts but it will set you free-be a good man or woman yourself and teach the youth the truth if you can find it- a real challenge. you want truth-I spent my whole life searching for truth-because I care about people and I hate lies and corruption. give me a ruler with a servant's heart and I will follow that man thru the gates of hell. This is a scam. So are all the internet emails from Microsoft, the UK,
other companies, the consulates of every African and Arab country, so don't fall for these things. If you want a grant be prepared to do the research to get the grant. Fill out the paperwork and be prepared to actually perform under the grant-unless you are a politician then you write a grant, apply for it, get it and keep the dough. Just another way to scam tax paying America.
Sorry- truth is truth and once the 16th Amendment passed-it was all over.
The states used to pay a proportionate share of the bill based on population
as required under the Constitution. Oh I know an amendment was passed and America has never been the same- she was never perfect-but she had character
and a value system that will never again be achieved in this land. Too bad.
Otherwise we would have a law against scams like this or better yet Americans would not be doing this to each other-love your neighbor as yourself. Got us thru a Depression and World War2. Like I said-too bad.

I get numerous calls from this number day and night. I then recieved a letter from this so called company called g.f. institute in Kansas. Saying that I have been approved for a 25,000 grant. I called the number back and told the operator that this was a scam and she said yeah well have a nice day and hung up on me. Please someone get these people doing this fraud and sending these letters and stop these annoying calls. Someone help can they get away with this?

He has? Could you please tell me what those things are that he has done, because I cannot see them. He said he was going to bring our troops home, now after talking to the powers to be in Afghanistan,he has decided to send more troops. And now he wants to increase the corporate bailout stimulus package and whose pocket will that come out of? Seems to me he is enjoying his little trips abroad at our expense. A few months cannot determine his worth or ability to get a job done nor can it prove his validity concerning his promises, because he has yet to do anything he has promised. He has however followed through with the previous administrations action to pull corporate America's ass out of the proverbial fire. This is a republican package, not something Obama thought of. "Give him a chance." I have given many democrats a chance in the past and all it has done is make me poorer as is the policy of the democratic party, if they want something, let the public pay for their decision. Bush did put money back in our pocket, he cut taxes, he made corporate America accountable. Do not blame the current recession on the Bush administration, blame it where blame belongs, on the CEO's greed to get richer, bigger bonus packages, cutting jobs, letting off workers and moving jobs overseas. Do not think Obama was the one curbing the state of the union and the financial crisis we are going through, thank Bush and his experience.
