My dad just called me about a letter he received in reference to this ph number.  Thanks for all the comments.  I immediately told him that this was nothing more than a scam.

I received a card, just today,  from G F Institute about a $25,000 grant. I immediately went to Google and only found this site. I knew it had to be a scam because I already have several thousands in educational grants that I did not pay anything for. Financial Advisers at my university  constantly warn students to never pay a fee to apply for a grant, scholarship, or any kind of public assistance.

Interesting enough if you go to Kansas BBB they list this company and address but have no rating about the company.  It says to check all items before doing business.

Kansas BBB lists the G.F. Institute by address but does not have any information about their business.  They recommend that you look at all items carefully before your decide what to do.  I have read some of your replys and I decided to put this scam item in the trash.  If the BBB does not know what it is then I don't believe it wise to trust these people.

i receive the same letter to call 866-576-9176 for $ 25.000, but i didn't call them because i checked in the internet  and i notice that the keep lying too people   and is not true because they want to get more money.

I have been getting a bunch of this type of scams since I ordered a couple of books on natural cures and proper eating and physical habits. A bunch of hoohonky

I got the card also and I called the number ( just to screw around with these [***]           "then give them both barrels" )  and got a recording of this new age yuppie nerd with the most souless monotone voice I have ever heard  "Aretha Franklin would slap the gum stright out of this boy's mouth"  he offered to sell a book on how to obtain grants from the fedral government that would cost about $60.00 out of your credit card                                            ( this would give monotone boy stright access to your credit card + the $60.00 you authorized ) PS. it is almost imposible for anyone to get a grant right now (Barack himself couldn't get one if he tried) I say thank gaga google for the info,  for those of you that use this amazing source of information (the internet) to rip people off, you to can be ripped off "[***]" (not only by your self destructive "delusions of grander" attitude) by the very same information highway you travel, "but wait there's more"                                                                                                    "some people know the price of everything and the value of nothing"

Thanks everybody for the heads up.  It's sad when people fall prey to these scams.  They play on our emotions and on our never waning desire to have just a little bit (or a lot more) money.  We just all need to remember that "TANSTAAFL"  there ain't no such thing as a free lunch.  If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.  But hopefully we'll all keep looking out for each other and using this information super highway to gain the advantage.  Good luck and keep posting.

It is a pity that they are featured on a respectable site that is supposed to help students who are looking for financial aids.  There should be a way to stop scum bums like those.  Waste of people's time!!!

I received information in the mail that, I could be eligible to receive a grant with the worth of $25,000. Oh,what a blessing this could be for my family for we in a hardship period of our lives. I would like to find out on how to be able to obtain these much needed funds. A real family that is in need of a Bail-Out!

Thanks guys for giving me the what's up about these people! It is sad that there are people even in times like these still trying to take from the poor people. Then I see these multi billion dollar companies talking about they need a bail out! If I was not a Preacher I probrably use some choice words but i won't. (Give me a break) We the people need a Bail out. We don't need any more people taking what little we got. why they go on trips and live lavish off our hard earned tax money. It is pititful boy I wish I could personally talk to our President. We need a real stimulas not no few hundred but about $25,000 something that will give us a leg up. Hopeful wishes. I am angry, I really am. But I am not going to stop trying! I will never give up!

I'm in the middle of applying for grant money.  This is no easy task and, I'm assuming, you'd have to jump the same hoops with any scammer.  They say, "It's EASY MONEY."  It's not.  And if you go to grants.gov you'll find all the grant info right there, how to get your "license" to apply, where to apply, whom to talk to.  They're right about one thing.  There's almost an infinite amount of grants and money.  Good luck, Curtis and everyone!

I received a corrresspondence in the mail on Thanksgiving day from the Official Information RE: $25,000 from U.S. Government in the mail and it's already approved. Yeah right, not in this economy guys. It's a scam. No questions asked. Why would they want to help us get grants be mailing us or phoning or emailing. If they have to work this hard to get hard working honest people broke they have another thing coming. If it is a legitamite business shouldn't people be going out and applying for these grants rather than they be readily available to the masses when everyone is hurting financially. This just doesn't smell right.

Recieved calls but i always rejected them bcuz i answered one time and some indian dude started talking and i wuz like no thanks and hung up. BUT shortly after i recieved same postcard like every1 else. Almost fell for it till i saw it said kansas city kansas. and approved by JD. LoL wtf and it wuz mailed under my name to my girlfriends house...That makes no sense. I really wanna get whoever is behind this scam! Just google gf institute and first thing that shows is SCAM SCAM SCAM!

PLEASE DONT FALL FOR THIS PEOPLE! A GRANT CANT BE APPROVED IF YOU NEVER APPLIED FOR IT FROM THAT COMPANY.!!!!!

get this junk all the time.I don't know if they know that I'm disabled,but I'm not crazy!Got a call from the Royal canadian mounted police a while back telling me I was a target from scammers based out of New York.Leave me alone,I hope you're having to pay all this postage!

I got the letter and after ignoring it recieved a call.

Told'em to go f them selves.

I didn't get a phone call but got a post card through the post office with the message that they have been trying to reach me and $25,000 Government grant and I should call 1-866-576-9176 (the no above) urgently. I did not apply for any grant so obviously did is a scam. I did not call back either.
Something needs to be done to track the brains behind this SCAM. thank you

Scam, scam, scam.  Want's money up front.  Told them to take it out of the grant.  False mailing!!
