- stylz replies to tomboyI just found this site...this is too funny. I have had JCC calling me for a while now. Has anyone else received calls from them that are being forwarded through a local number. They tell me that they are in Minnesota, but when I ask why their number comes up with a florida area code, they say they don't know. It will be interesting to see if anyone else has this happening to them too.
- AC replies to Al Haug| 2 repliesThey've been calling me at work. My employer is getting pissed. I keep telling them I will call them back on my own time, but they don't seem to get it. They like to catch me off guard. How do you get them to stop calling your employer?!?
- WB on lineAnswered phone, person identified himself as being from JCC and said had atty in my state to pursue balance on Dilards. Told him unemp income is now Soc Sec (non attachable) said ok would work out pmt arrangement. I agreed and all was nice till I refused my bank account info. Said I don't give that to anyone and if you want $ from me you can send me a letter with arrangements and I will send you money every month. He became abusive and I said now you are harassing me and I am hanging up.
They just called again so I will be faxing them to cease and desist and reporting them to Ohio Atty Gen.
I owe and I will pay but - - - unemployed and I am keeping my house. Things are bad and we shoud pay but half of Ohio is looking for jobs.
Cannot give what I don't have!!- Caller: unknown
- Own up to it replies to meI agree. If it's a wrong # instead of hanging up let them know that. Keep in mind the person their trying to reach may have several collectors calling for them. If you owe it they may be able to work out a payment plan.
- sammie replies to ALBERTA GREENEI just got a call from these people, trying to collect a debt for my DEAD EX-husband!
They said they were from the "probate dept", intimating that they were an officer of the court. Totally illegal.
If they continue, I will call my atty, and sue them for harrassment, I've done it before, and won.
Texas has strict laws as to what collection agencies can and can't do.
Every state has laws regarding this, find out the laws in your state.
Find an atty who takes cases on contingency so you don't have to take any money out of pocket.
Alberta, I doubt your state allows them to call you at work, get their address, and send them a "cease and desist" letter, send it certified, return receipt requested. - Mel replies to Al Haug| 1 replyJC Christiansen & Associates is calling to conduct business with my father who is elderly, has a speach defficiency and is not "right" in the head. I have power of attourney, but they are not interested in it..they want to speak to my father. Since I conduct all of my father's business and know every business he is associated with, I know JCC is not one of them. After they see that they can't get any farther than me, they terminate the call. This company calls EVERY day in hopes that my father wil pick up. They are predators who pray on the elderly and the ignorant. WARNING AND CAUTION TO ALL!!!!
- Rose replies to ACTell them that you are not allowed to take personal calls at work. Then send them a certified letter that states either they are not to contact you further or that you will only allow them to contact you by mail. After they receive the letter, they can contact you one more time via the phone. Your reply can simply be "contact me via mail". Each time they attempt after that is a violation of FCPA laws and they can be sued for $1000 for EACH subsequent phone call.
- The Old ManI just sent JCC a fax telling them to stop calling. I've already told them that, at least 2 dozen times, and they pay no attention. These vultures (Whether or not they actually have a claim) continue to violate the FDCPA, and I have reported them, MORE THAN ONCE, to the Federal Trade Commission.
TODAY, I have my proof, and they either BACK OFF, or take a financial hit. I refuse to allow these buzzards to cause me any more trouble.- Call type: Debt collector
- The Old Man replies to Modesto, Ca. callerJC Christensen PROBATE? Oh, that's a new one on me. They're a collection agency, a bunch of vultures. The "Debt" is probably more than 10 years old.
Tell 'em to shove it up their nose. - The Old Man replies to goatGoat, they aren't an identity theft scam. I wish they WERE, it would end a LOT of troubles. They've probably either got an OLD bill, or the wrong number. The jerks won't listen, but maybe they will listen to the FTC.
- The Old Man replies to ratsarsedIf they called you at that hour, they have violated the FDCPA, no matter what. Go to www.ftc.gov and file a complaint.
- ConcernI got a call from them late Saturday morning 7/18/09 and the lady wanted to know how many children do I have, if I am getting child support, what is my 401k and when she asked if I had a bank account, I stopped answering questins. I started questioning her back as well, told her a few things about how they handle business, fore I use to work in medical billing and have dealt with them. She stated what I said was incorrect, and danced around my comments as if I were silly.. Mind you, though.. She was not rude at all, but I felt like she was asking questions that had nothing to do with collecting a debt. I called the number back, knowing the company is here in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. I got an answering machine stating they are Mon-Fri. I believe what I pulled up on the net was a business office phone number.
Don't get me wrong.. I have a debt, but... The questions asked of me... I am concerned if that was normal business practice. - LEGAL SECRETARY replies to Al HaugI take the 800# series number that calls my residence, and if they hang up on me or will not speak appropriately, I get that 800# and go to Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and report that number calling my residence and the situation.
Also, collection agencies are controlled and regulated by the Financial Advisor/Banking Commissioner of the state they are doing business in. Therefore, I report them to their local officials, as well as, to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
Hoped this has helped someone today! - jrthis company are a bunch of dinks they will harrass u until you finlly give in be like me and be a dink back and hang up let them call u a ton of times and write it down and then turn them in

- huddyI had a rep from this company call me tonight looking for my grandmother. I got the person's return call number and asked them for their address. The woman I talked to on the phone was very nice. After giving me the address, she asked what it was for, and I replied that I am going to send them a cease and desist letter. She very nicely told me that once they get the letter, they will most definitely stop calling.
