I've just gotten my daily (weekend) call from what appears to be Midland. After numerous complaints and joining in class-action suits etc., the calls seemed to stop following the CFPB order a month or so ago. Midland (part of Encore) was singled out as one of the biggest lawbreakers there is, harassing and cold-calling phone-owners without any debt or relationship to Midland or their clients, intimidating with lawyers and non-stop calls etc. They were fined millions, ordered to stop the illegal practices, AND the execs were given 60 days to enforce, including top-down orders to cease and desist. Seems to have worked briefly with phone numbers identified as "Midland". Now they've resumed but the caller ID (including to do-not-call, not debt-owning innocent victims) now says "Unknown" or "unavailable", perpetrating yet another fraud while ignoring a legal order to stop. Clearly they need to be fined out of existence, or more permanently, the bosses need serious jail time, both for all the grief they cause so many, but their insistence on ignoring the CFPB and state and federal law.

REPORT THEIR CALLS!! They are well-known to the CFPB and are being observed. Let CFPB know if you are being victimized despite their being ordered to cease and desist, and document the calls and actions to get them to stop.

Trick or treat... this is what the ogres of Midland were giving out on Halloween Saturday (today), lots of "tricks" like hiding their identity, and not so many treats for their victims. Again, IF they have no reason to call about a real debt, they are in violation of many laws and orders: REPORT THEM for your sake, and everyone else's too. They should serve as an example and if they are eliminated, the data thieves will have less outlets for stolen ID data, too. This is a group of slugs of the most vile variety. This is not only opinion, it is documented as to how profoundly they violate law and moral decency.

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.

Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time,date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

Call blocker might be of some help.  Also don't pick up on numbers you do not recognize, or where there are caller IDs that seem odd.  Or where there is no caller ID.

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them .

This number keeps coming up on my TV screen whenever they call.  But I don't even have a phone hooked up and never used it.  It was just part of the "Package" the cable company gave me when I signed on and I have never used it or even actually know what the number is.  So I would say these people are just dialing random numbers and trying to scam the person on the other end.  My guess would be that or the Cable Company is selling their directories to third parties.

I keep getting calls from this number several times during the day.  If I do answer the call hangs up.  I am tired of this nuisance calling !!

This caller called me two to four times a day and there is never anyone on the line.  They wake me and they call me on the weekends also.  I want it stopped.  I am on the do not call list but it seems to not matter

Sunday and I've received a now-daily call from what was previously labeled as "Midland" but is now hiding behind "unavailable" as the caller ID.  Several complaints, numerous class action suits, and a CFPB ruling later, after 2 weeks of no calls, suddenly they are coming each and every day. Note that the number they call is unlisted, registered to state and local do-not-call lists, and owned by someone with no debt to collect, no relationship to the caller, and no knowledge of anyone they might be seeking with similar name or phone number. They simply will not cease and desist - despite a strong legal order to a) stop the phone harassment and legal threats based on no or shady data; and b) make the order known from the top down of Midland-Encore, so that the responsible execs take responsibility.  What's happened? Midland/Encore were fined millions and may be libel for much more given their brazen failure to comply or make amends. Now they even hide their identity. This marks the end of their 60-days legal order to comply. Therefore, as they are still engaging in criminal harassment on a huge scale, the CFPB and other legal authorities need to hear feedback from the victims of this caller.

PLEASE REPORT TO "DO NOT CALL" VIOLATIONS AUTHORITIES IN YOUR STATE - For your own peace of mind and to add to the huge catalogue of their victims' testimony and complaints. These vile operators seem to feel invulnerable.

REPORT TO CFPB - who actually listens and follows up on complaints about such sleaze as this. Their order to this company mandates that their harassment and shady business practices must stop, by next week. We'll see. PLEASE REPORT THIS NUMBER AND THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE GETTING GROUNDLESS &/OR CONSTANT CALLS!!

They call at 8:01 AM everyday including Sunday. Can't call them back either, the message says it can't take any messages.

They call 3 times a day, but never respond when I do answer.  I get calls at 8 am and as late as 850 pm.  When I call the number, it rings but no one answers.

This number is calling my work number repeatedly and blowing up my phone.  I get to work this morning and it has over 50 missed calls from this number and already several times this a.m.  They need to stop.

It's a debt collector. The do-not-call list does not apply to them.

Repeated calls form this number. at all hours even on Sundays one at 8 a.m. one at 9:28 a.m.

These people call once or twice a day, even on Sundays. Blocked their number however, they call using different numbers.

I receive countless phone calls from 866.580.4780.  They do not leave a message.  I looked up the number and it is supposedly a fraud collections agency.  I do not owe anyone anything and do not like their calls at all hours of the day and night.  They call at least once a day.  Saturday morning it was at 8:10AM, before my three-year-old grandson was up for the day grrrr.  Please help.  Thank you.

When this call comes up as Toll Free and i answer, no one is there and then the call hangs up !   I am on a No Call List and this is getting very annoying !!!!

I have been getting several phone calls each day from this number.  They do not leave a message if I answer the phone no one say anything.  I have no idea who it is that is calling.
