- BillSCAM Harrassing phone calls continuously, when I asked who they were and what the purpose of the call was, they responded in asking me questions. They wanted to know if I had a Macy"s or Bloomingdale's credit cards and wanted account numbers etc.
- MC| 1 replyThis number has been calling my cell phone for almost 2 weeks now and never leave a message. I finally decided to answer a few days ago and they claimed to be calling about my Macy's Amex. They said I had a past due balance and if I would to make a payment. Thankfully I was driving at the time so I said I couldn't get my acct info out. The lady said I can call back when I get home. But I told her my husband handles that account so I would just have him pay online. She again URGED me to just call her back because payment would go through faster. I told her online payment would be more convenient for myself. Anyways, as soon as I hung up with her I called my husband to yell at him for not paying the bill. He assured me the account is not last due. Thats when I decided to Google this number. And they are STILL calling me as we speak. How can we make this stop???

More to the point is that, thankfully, you didn't slam into another car and kill someone. From http://www.distraction.gov/ :
<-->
"ONE TEXT OR CALL
COULD WRECK IT ALL
Distracted driving is a dangerous epidemic on America's roadways. In 2011 alone, over 3,000 people were killed in distracted driving crashes.
The U.S. Department of Transportation is leading the effort to stop texting and cell phone use behind the wheel. Since 2009, we have held two national distracted driving summits, banned texting and cell phone use for commercial drivers, encouraged states to adopt tough laws, and launched several campaigns to raise public awareness about the issue."
<-->
And what could possibly be even half as distracting as talking to some bill collector - legitimate or not - while you are driving?
You don't need an excuse to avoid talking to bill collectors while you are driving. Just don't answer in the first place, or, if you do, either hang up or pull off the road and STOP in a place where it is safe to talk. In some places, that's the law! And while a bill collector may not be able to send you to prison for a debt, a police officer on street patrol duty certainly can - assuming that you get out of the hospital alive. - TomGot many calls from this number (1-866-593-3926)-caller ID showed "Free cable", and read all posts above...so i never call back. But i do not know why its still alive!!! who's care????

- Ewa BakBlock this number.
- ScottThis is NOT a scam! I thought it was after reading the posts here and called them and told the lady off. Then, I had my wife call the number on her Macy's card to check on it.
Come to find out, she had made her payment but they had credited it to her OLD Macy's account, not the new one. They credited the correct account and reversed the late fees.
Again, this is NOT a scam. Just call the number on your statement or back of your credit card.- Caller: Macy's

- DaFoxWhether the number in question is legit or fraud is moot.
IF I were a criminal and wanted to steal account and personal info, I would have my Caller ID masked as a legit number.
So If I wanted to steal AMEX info, I would mask my CID as AMEX and make my calls.
If you get a call from ANY card or bank company, for ANY reason: STOP!
Listen to the message if it is a robo call or get the live persons name and reason they called, then HANG UP. Call the company in question back using the number on your card or via the contact number on your account statements to find out if the call was legit or a scam.
It is as simple as that. - HayleyI just received a voicemail in regards to a Macy's Amex account and to call back in regards to a "personal business matter". It's a scam! I called back just to see what was up and IT'S DEFINITELY A SCAM. She asked for my account number and I told her I didn't have that. Then she asked for my name and address and last 4 digits of my social security number. She said my account didn't pull up and she would need my WHOLE SS NUMBER. That's when I KNEW FOR A FACT IT WAS A SCAM.
I feel bad for old people because I can see them falling for that so easily!- Caller: Macy's American Savings

- LCI got a call from this number today. this time pretending to be from American Express and asked me to call back 1 866 593 3926. Glad that I googled it firs. this is too suspcious, and most likely a scam / fraud.
- LCit's Macy's American Express. At first i thought it's a scam. Then i called the number on the back of my Macy's card (which is different from the number this number), and found out indeed it was Macy's trying to contact me.
Maybe Macy's outsourced to this company to try to contact their customers this way.- Caller: Macy's

- An answer?call is from Macy's. If you have a Macy's AMEX card it has 2 account numbers. One is for purchases in a Macy's store. The other is when used as an AMEX. Why do they do this? Not sure, but that's the way it is.
If you use it as an AMEX be sure to apply payment to the AMEX number not the Macy's retail number. I didn't do that. They will give you a one time courtesy reversal of the late fee and interest accrued. The phone numbers are different because one is for the retail side the other is for AMEX.- Caller: Macy's
- Gabby866-593-3926 they hang up every time I answer
- Joe| 1 replyIt is an SCAM, they call me 3-4 time a day, Do not answer its get worth, they will continue calling back. We need strict law to protect tax payers. Write to your Congress person. The phone companies do not care.
- concerned citizenSomeone called and left a recorded message to call pertaining to my Macy's Credit Card. I called and Ms Smith asked me for my Macy's card number. I refused and started asking questions. She told me I was the one that called her. She insisted on my Macy's credit card number. She asked for my phone number. I gave her no information. I told her I wanted to speak to her supervisor. Same story and I gave them no information. She, Ms Smith finally gave up and hung up.
- Mike-in-MD replies to JoeThe phone companies are regulated as common carriers. By regulation they are not allowed to do anything other than block a specific number upon customer request without an order from the FCC or the courts. In cases of harassment by phone, local law enforcement can request they block the caller.
- Tee866-593-3926 Keeps calling no message.
- mcgerriorGot the scam call re important business matter. Tell them that you will be happy to pay but can only do so with a cheque because your credit is maxed. Ask them for the name they should make out the cheque out to and if it is not Macy you will confirm the scamish of these low life individuals. Get their name and address and then report that info to the cops. busted.
