- MarkShirley called and l/m message advising to call 866-607-3223 and reference #110003 regarding federal student loans. Since I have no loans, I suspected this to be a scam, but called anyway. If you select the option of no student loans or loans under $10k, they will say you don't qualify for their programs and disconnect. If you select the option of $10k loan or greater, you will get a live person who will ask about your student loans. I asked how he got my number because I don't have student loans. He said, "Oh, I'm sorry. Your number must have been one off of the person we're trying to reach." Then disconnects. The menu options change if you call back.

- Shirley's Friend too ! replies to StefanieYep got the same call from our friend Shirley who sounds pleasant. Called the number from another line and I could tell it was a SCAM. And I have no loans nor does anyone in my household. Oh and the loan reference was the same number 110003. Lastly if I ever meet a Shirley Bates I might dump a bucket of water on her if the voice is the same for all of us. Have a great day !
- RayScam Called Shirley Dates? Student Loan Scandel! I had the Veterans Administration call this number a month and half ago and got an ad for cruise line. My case manager called the proper place and they e-mailed me back and nothings wrong. This is a phishing scam!!! My best recommendation is to report it and record it and play in back to the proper government entity? I don't know how to do that!

- SThey have called multiple times over the last couple months leaving a voicemail about student loan repayments, with the name Shirley Bates and reference # 110003. They are SCAMMERS! I called my student loan company directly and verified that this was NOT them. BLOCK them right away and don't give any information!

- TriciaJust got a 2nd call from this person, Shirley Bates, so I called back and provided the reference number. I got suspicious when the guy asked me for my name, which I provided and he asked for my email. I stopped providing information as I was reading these comments. He couldn't hang up on me fast enough when I told him that I was researching the number and I was going to call FAFSA to find out if his company, Documents Done Right, was legit and I'd call him back. He replied that I could contact my lender and he'd remove me from the calling list and promptly hung up on me. All he got was my name. Hope he can't do too much damage with that. He has my cell number, as well... I assume he has a form of caller ID. Seems to me if he had a legit reference number, not the same reference number that's given out to everyone, he would have all my info. I was wary when he said he needed info from me to run a "soft" credit check.

- GilbertThat Shirley Bates sure has the most realistic, life-like sounding voice.
Same callback number as above, saying There have been some changes in the student loan program that affect how you pay it back. I can see if I had a student loan that it would be tempting to find out about not paying it back.- Caller: 575-305-2148

Very calm lady’s voice identifying herself as Shirley Bates about paying back student loans and that a couple of things have changed.
