My elderly parents received a call at their home number on Tuesday, 2/22  and Wednesday 2/23 from a Vivian Garcia and left the number 866-611-3411 (x114)  for me to call. I called back and when I tried to tell Ms. Garcia that I have been unemployed she got very rude and would not let me get a word in edgewise.  And then she hung up on me.  SO, I called back and asked to speak with anyone but Ms. Garcia.  I was connected to a Mr. Jack Sanders.  I tried to explain my situation to him and also that if he had MY phone number (which he did), then he should be calling ME, not my parents.  He asked me if that was a threat and I said no but don't call them again.  Then he proceeded to tell me what my balance was - I told him I did not have any funds at this time to pay anything - he said "how do we know that?", so he proceeded to tell me that I now have 48 hours to pay the entire balance, and then hung up on me.  WHOA!  I can't pay what I don't have!

I would like to respond to your posting,
1. I figure you must work for a collection agency
2. How can a collection agency buy debts that have been settled either thru bankruptcy or just paid in full.
3. And last thing it is called harassment when a caller keeps calling to collect a debt even after you tell them you have paid it off and have proof
4. So as to these people being rude, well you need to get you head out of your_______!

The have been calling repeatedly badgering an employee even after they were told she is not the same person they are looking for.

they need to stop these fraud debt collectors on there track. The number and name he use was 866-611-3411x130 and caller's name Dallas.

Caller left msg to call 866-611-3411. Obvious collections scam.

got a call from Maria Morgan to my mom's home asking for me.  She was really rude to her. Is there anyway to shut these a** holes down.  Every day I get 5 or 6 calls from them. My mom is sick of these people calling her for me.  The funny part of it all is that they are calling the  wrong person.

Hello people most of you took out some kind of loan or owe some kind of debt and these people are calling you legitimately!! I know I took out a payday loan I couldn't afford to pay back and I have been getting calls from them.. though the people I talk to there are not rude but for those that are... seriously these people deal with people that are rude and don't want to/ or can't pay there debts all day everyday!! I would be rude too!! as soon as they tell me who they are I just hang up on them... easy!! they know me now and also know I am just going to hang up... advice just do the same. send them a do not call letter and for the moment the prob is solved... until they take you to court if they ever do :)

Yes they have a right to try and collect on it until you send them a letter stating that it is expired per the statute of limitations. Until then they will call and try to collect... Oh and they can still report to your credit also until this letter is sent via certified mail and a copy and proof that the letter was sent to the credit bureaus

Ha ha ha ha if you got a real job you could pay your bill and wouldn't get these calls ha ha ha ha ha I'm sure his "job" that you don't call real pays his bills... unlike all of us that get these calls... oh and go ahead and say I work for them to ha ha funny thing is I actually get their calls too but the difference is I know when to admit it's valid for them to call me because I owe the debt!! Ha ha

I just figure, if paid all my bills on time, then the bill collectors would be out of jobs.  That would hurt our already struggling economy.  I consider myself a true American by providing employment for people by not paying my bills.  If you pay your bills, you put people out of work, therefore, hurting the economy.

i had a call from this phone number.A Mark Edwards called, very rude.i immediately called the local law enforcement,reporting it as suspected fraud.I also sent a complaint to the Fedrral Trade Commission.He said he is Praxis Financial.Never heard of them.

Called cell phone at 5:22 pm.  No message left.  If this is Praxis, they will also call from 847 676-1111.

My answering machine clearly states that unidentified calls will not be answered.Yet this number calls every day.
At least say something to the machine so i won't think it is a robocall.

get a life jerk. Some of us didn't spend a  dime and are still being harrassed. In my state it is illegal to skip trace and that is exactly what they are doing. So if you one of these [***]...expect a call from my attorney

Listen up Martin. I have had the same phone number for decades. For the past 4 years I have been getting these calls from various companies looking for different people I do not know & never heard of. Since you seem to be in the know here, where do these 3rd party, fly by night companies get their phone number info from??? Do they have a computer that kicks out last names of the same person they are looking for & place calls to them all? It seems like these calls started when I joined Face Book so they may be selling phone numbers. At any rate I point out (truthfully) I do not know this person & request to be taken off the mailing list. At that point to discourage any further contact I loudly unleash a wrath of hell on the person advising them information about their night jobs if female, their mothers, daughters & race or nation origin!

Okay folks, what they don't have a right to do is call family and frfiends, not disclosing who they are or what they are calling about.  FDCPA says they must identify themselves as a debt collector which they obviously are not doing.  Trying to collect on a chapter 7 discharged debt is not ok by any standards which was my .experience!  Keep good records of these calls and watch your credit reports too.  IMO
