I got a call yesterday and was suspicious ever since the beginning.  I even asked them if it was a prank.  I do have an account on explore talen but never actually finished it so I never put my number on it.  The guy's name was "Sam" and he even said that it's a non-profit organization that wants to help artists, so they call me to activate my account.  He then asks me for how long did I want to activate the account for: 6 months ($120) or 1 year ($200) and immediately asked me for my credit card number telling me that they were going to do it in a secure line.  Who is he, Jack Bauer?  So, I told him that I would be more comfortable checking the webpage a bit more and "pay" online.  That's when the guy started losing patience because he told me that he wanted to immediately activate my account and send my information.  He kept on and on trying to make me do it and got a bit mad.  At the end I tell him that it's what I want to do because it makes me feel more comfortable and he just chuckles in disbelief.  Anyone that asks for your number by phone but won't accept it online or in person in an oficial establishment is OBVIOUSLY a scam.

I received the call this morning but since it was an 866 number knew it had to be a solicitor. The message said I had been selected off of talent.com and I have never submitted any information to that site or any other website, so I know that this company stole information or bought it from another source. I wanted to post a reply to everyone who receives this type of call to PLEASE do not fall prey to their hostile demeanor and believe what they say.  Some people give in to the pressure over the phone because they want to believe they can make you the next big thing.  I have worked in the financial and fraud dept for many years, and deal with identity theft and account fraud on a weekly basis. It the largest and fastest growing crime in the world, and it's because people are becoming more creative with their scams.  Everyone dreams of being "the next big thing", but if it's too good to be true, it most likley is. Just remember to NEVER NEVER give your account number over the phone, and NEVER give your social security number to anyone,except professionals you are familiar and comfortable with ie...doctor, banker, dentist, they need it for their records.  Other than that, leave it at home in a safe place, do not carry it with you.  The latest scam is bank associates and doctor offices calling saying they need to verify your information on your account, again, if you do not know them personally at your local bank or dr's office, DO NOT give them your information.  I worked a case a few months ago where a man sent $100k to a man who claimed to be a distant relative and had all the documentation to prove it, and promised to repay once he had made the trip.  It was all a scam.  Not only did they steal the money, he broke the older gentleman's heart as he prayed it was a distant brother he had lost contact with years ago. No professional company should ever ask for personal information, unless you call in.  Please be safe everyone, there are a lot of criminals hiding behind phones and computer screens, armed with information collected from the world wide web. Everything you do is monitored and tracked, so be careful what you sign up for and who you give your information to online.  Do not sign up with free networking sites too, if they don't claim to have a privacy policy, then they will sell your information to anyone, including people in which called you about the new talent opportunities.

I got the same message for me saying he was a creative director for a modeling agency.  Thick foreign accent could not pronounce my name correctly.  I did not call back I figured it was a scam.

Creative director, Jake Brown just called me, and I missed the call... His accent was so Europeanish THICK, I could barely understand his message. So, my real guess is that it's NOT a Jake Brown.
He said he was casting for a commercial in (my home town) and wanted more head shots.
This is interesting. I've been in several movies as an extra and actually had a speaking part so, I'm SAG eligible.... so, I couldn't do this anyway.
I told the agency that represents all of us extras and she laughed. Asked me for the number and name of the person... since I couldn't understand this guy, I forwarded the voice mail to her. She's going to have the states AG get involved to try and stop this kind of solicitation... or at least, fine the hell out of them.

Word of advice: If a talent agency wants you to pay them, run, don't walk, away... A legit agency will solicit you and your talents for a percentage of your pay... if you're paid. And, if you're an extra, you at least get meals... and pretty damn good ones, too...

Got a call 2 days ago saying they found my "Beautiful pictures" on my online profile. Didn't call them back yet though. I thought I'd research them first. He said his name was Scott and he was the creative director for expotalent... I don't know what to think, really.

I got this call frm this guy "Joseph" wit an indian accent he said they needed more Hispanic beautiful models and he could get me in with Victoria secret and that he thought I had a great future ahead of me in the modeling business I Googled the number and found yall lol thanks!! Im soo not calling back!

They called me today:I I told them your speaking to me and the guy kept repeating me name. I asked him what the call was about and he said my number was posted on a site of people interested in being extras. I said no  I never posted it. Line went dead.

Okay I got a call from a 800 service number. I sent it to voicemail because I figured that It was a telemarketer or something like that. Later that day I seen that I had a voicemail and I could barely understand his accent. He said he was the creative director from explore talent. I figured it had t be a scam because usually the ones witt the waaaaaay off foreign voices are skeptical right along with the 800 services. If your the creative director then it should pop up explore talent lie it did for my friend when they called me for him not a 800 service number. I didnt even call back. What a SCAM!!!!

Thats becuase they knew you knew it was a scam.. SMH

Creative Director said his name was Zack but he sounded more like Sandeep.  Modeling?  Acting?  Surrrrre. "Show me the money!"  is more like it!

My voicemail doesn't have my name in it?! I got an Indian person call me too

this number called my home number and asked for my daughter saying she prequalified for something and then told me she was beautiful. the guy sounded either middle eastern or indian, i then proceeded to tell him she is married and not interested in what they had to offer and that it was probably a scam and hung up.

Yeap. Ol' explorer talent called me. Sounded pretty much as the others .the main thing that pissed me off is I said let me talk to my wife about it and she said don't you wear the pants in the house. She tested my manhood then had the nerve to ask for my card number to start a package now. Before I got off the phone she said call her tomorrow .thank God for smartphones. Put that number on my reject list and going to remove that old profile so they do not call me anymore.
