MY DAUGHTER ALSO GOT THIS TEXT AND GOT CHARGED FOR OPENING THE MSG. VERIZON WILL NOT CANCEL THE CHARGES, THEREFORE, THEY ARE ASSISTING THESE SCAMMERS AND THEY MAY ALSO BE AWARE OF ALL OF IT. THEY MAYBE GETTING A CUT FROM THE FEES WITH THE BILLING. VERIZON HAS TO SIGN ON TO THIS SCAM AND KNOWS THE WHOLE OPERATION. WHY ELSE WOULD THEY DO THE BILLING. WE ALL NEED TO DROP VERIZON AND GET ANOTHER CARRIER.

scam call for supposed free ring tones.

received a text message from this number which said:
"RingAZA Thanks for subscribing. Call 866-616-6076 with questions about your membership. Sub: $9.99/mo."

I replied to the text message with "UNSUBSCRIBE"

I got a text response soon after which said:
"U have been unsub from Ringaza! Crdt Club as of 12/14/08. U will not receive any additional messages going forward. More info @ www.ringaza.com"

replying with UNSUBSCRIBE worked for me. In my case I think they got my number from a "free" ring tone offer.

This is so wrong in so many ways.  It's something you can't even be aware of until it happens to you!  Two of our 5 lines incurred charges for services never requested -- NOR RECEIVED!!!  We don't even know what it was -- but Verizon paid them --  Verizon wants the money from me!!!

I hope all phone companies are aware and do not pay any company like this again!

I am furious because there is nothing that I can do!  The phone number tells you to send e-mail (probably so they add you to a junk mail/spam list and sell your info) and press # for more help which disconnects you immediately.  The website is "coming soon."

Verizon wants their money.  Can't blame them, but...  They have lawyers and should go after these horrible people.

HELP!  I hope someone is better at this and can resolve the issue!

Everyone on this site should make a formal complaint against Verizon and the company with the phone number 866-616-6076 with their State Attorney General's Office. You can Google for the information. This is a scam and Verizon has known about it for years and has done nothing to stop it.
A good class action suit might get their attention.

i recived 6 text in a row. from this number. i have AT&T. ill ck on the charges? WTF? I never had any contact with them. It is totaly Random... Scam

my granddaughter got charged for this services on her line, however I called T-Mobile right away and they took the charges off and also blocked her line.  I always wanted to switch to Verizon, but not after reading all these complaints!!!!  I will stick with T-Mobile!!!!!

I was charged on 9/15/09 for 9.99 that I have no idea and never contacted anyone to be a service provider  When I call the number, I cant get anyone or any info who the number is

This happened to my phone and we have T-Mobile as a carrier, they advised me how to stop the spamm text from charging us in the future and they took it off my bill.

Call your cell phone provider and they will give you a number to text, in the body of the text just type in " STOP " and they cannot call you again. The was exactly what was on my bill word for word, and when I called T-mobile they took the charges off my bill. Hopefully your provider will also. Good Luck!

T-Mobile takes it off your bill, change carriers, sounds like Verizon does not take care of their customers.

Charged $ 9.99 on my cell bill and did not know how or why it got on my bill.

This should be against the law.
