Received phone call today from someone named Arlen (accent so heavy couldn't understand last name).  Said I owed money (amount not disclosed) and that a charge was being held against my social security number (he had last 4 digits) and that I would get a visit at my home and/or office to arrest me if I did not return his phone call.  I did not return his call, and I am glad to know this is a scam.  It was a little surprising.  It came in on my business phone as "PRI - DID", he gave the phone number to my voice mail.  It is my policy not to answer unidentified phone call at work.

I got a voice mail on my phone today from a man who claimed his name was something 'Miller'. I could not completely understand him because he had a very heavy accent. He was looking for my boyfriend and wanted to speak to him and his lawyer. My boyfriend called the number back and the man said he was calling to inform us that his company (he conveniently did not mention) was possibly going to press charges over checking fraud...he then changed his story and said my boyfriend owed them for a loan. My boyfriend was confused so when he pressed the man on for details, they guy was very and  just hung up on him. The 'Miller' guy knew all of my boyfriend's information; his ss #, name, address, the bank he goes to, even MY phone number . We went to the police and had them call the number and no one answered. They couldn't file a report because of the lack of information. As soon as we left the department, we called again and someone answered. We told them someone called us earlier and wouldn't explain what they were after. We requested their company name and information so we could have it for the record and the man hung up. They refuse to answer anymore calls.

Got a call from 866-659-7342 today and spoke with a Charles.  He said that I owe $2500 for a paid day loan that I have never taken.  I asked for the company name that I supposedly took the loan out with and he said that he was from the law office that represents the company and could not give me the name.  I told him that I have never taken a paid loan out with this company at which point he started telling me my bank information and personal information.  It is scary to know that they have this.  I asked them not to call me at which point he informed me that they will continue to call me every minute of every day until this matter is resolved and that they will contact my employer about the situation at which point my employer will know "everything about my failure to pay debts."  Can they do this?  They also said that a uniform police officer will come to my door.

no they can NOT do that. Credit Collectors can not contact you at work especially when you request them not to. You can actually sue them for it or any threats they make against you. They also have to have given you a written notice of how much you 'supposedly' owe after they contact you once. They have to give you their name and who they are working for. They can't harass you or threaten to repeatedly call you, or make any threat for that matter.

I got the same call today as well. They told me that I committed fraud and they are ready to take criminal charges against me. They wanted $830 paid by today. They even went as far to tell me how to to word a letter that they wanted written to them and faxed to them which appears to be a total set up saying I relinquish any further disputes against them and I wanted to settle this matter. They also asked me to fax my Photo ID. I told them I will huddle with my attorney and they said they wanted to settle this matter outside of court.

Got the same call about 15 min ago. They have the address, ssn, friend's phone numbers, etc. I have no idea how, but those are serious professional crooks. Don't worry!!!

I received three calls from these people.  Also 866-447-9180.  They say I took out a cash advance loan and did not pay back and threatening to turn over to their attorneys.  When I finally got someone to answer, they said why are you not facing the facts and hung up.  I called back and asked who they were and they said to put my attorney on the phone and hung up again.  The 866-447-9180 number rings a couple times and then stops and call is disconnected

The Legal Dept of United Cash is now calling my place of employment. I applied for a payday loan back in November from Shamrock Mktg and from MyCashNow in December. I believe my information was taken from either of these sites or the sites purporting to be the service that farms your information out to payday loan providers. I've submitted the harassing calls to the Internet Crimes Unit and I encourage others to do the same. This behavior needs to be stopped. My next step is to call the police and file the complaint of harassment.

They are still actively working on this story- recordings, any paper trail, is very helpful.

Also REPORT THIS TO LOCAL POLICE, FBI, SECRET SERVICE, HOMELAND SECURITY......Keep focused and lets stop this.

Scam and the downfall of it is about to come.

I got a real disturbing message on my voice mail from someone claiming to be with FL legal deparment and that my name and ssn is in legal trouble.  If he doesn't hear from me or my attorney then he will send my information to the state courthouse. He then said I would be in a lot of legal trouble.  He was very hard to understand foreign accent.  I DID NOT call back because I received one about 2 weeks ago and it was a scam which I found out online.  If anyone has anything to add please do so.  They called from a legal department in FL at 10:00pm est time.  Something sounds bogus.

I just got a call on my VM  from this accent named "Ray Fleck", he sounds mid easetern, same message; I must call him or I would face serious legal actions blah blah....

I got the same exact message, and I believe I've received this msg. before-same msg., same voice, but last time was from an Officer Peter, then Norman, then they said they were Attorney's, now saying from Legal Dept.  It is disturbing when you get threatened over the phone.  I contacted a fraud attorney and he said they can not do anything like that to us at our place of employment or residence-that type of harassing is illegal!  Unfortunately, he said if they're calling outside the US-then they don't have jurisdiction over them and for us to not respond and report the incidents to the police/FBI etc.  FBI showed me howto google ph. #s online (just put the phone # in the google subject line) to see others w/the same complaints-which is what I just did w/this # and found your complaint-be smart everyone!!!

Same phone number 1-866-659-7342 keeps calling our house and husband's work. The man's name is Joy Gordon. He has a very heavy accent. They called my husband's work 13 times yesterday. At one point, they told my husband's work that his sister was dying. My husband is literally about to get fired over this. I have reported them to the Federal Trade Commission and reported it to the FBI. When they call, I've told them that they have been reported, but "Joy" said he didn't care and will just keep calling. I've already told them they can send the police or do whatever they want, but that they would never get a dime out of us. You would think they would get the message, but apparently not. I can't wait until they get caught. I think they should track down whoever gave them our names, and we should be able to sue them and put them out of business.

Thats the same number my husband got a call from except with the name Stephen Mark and Jeffery Morgan they are foreign sounding also thought it was odd that they had americain names they also threatened us my brother in law and my husbands dad along with his work.  Some how they had my husbands dads social security number. We were stupid and before doing research gave them 408.00 but our bank was able to recover it for us.

Ok I just got the same call 3 times today saying I owe 420.00 and to pay that or I would b getting sued for over 4,000 dollars. He said his name was "dereck jones" I could barely understand him he sounded Indian! For everyone out there this is a huge scam and don't give them a penny. ItS scary cause they have all of our info ssn and address and stuff. Everyone let FBI or police kno we need to put these con man away!

I got a phone call from these poeple on my cell phone.the said i got a phone call from a Jeffery Morgan from the UCF saying that i got a payday loan in 2010 for $400 with cash usa. he wanted 5,000 dollers or 1808.00 to settle the matter. he asked me to fax him a letter and my ID. i made the mistake of doing so. I never asked for one from this company or any others. this was very scary for me. he threatened me with jail time. i looked up the number for the Cash usa place and they said they had no record of me getting a loan and he told me a scam. I was relieved and mad. but i had to call my bank and cancel the card because they had it and now I am just releived. i am just wanting to worn others about this before they make the mistake i did and that is give them any more information. here is the letter that he wanted me to send.

Attention Jeffery Morgan,
    I Spring Needham, from the state of Arizona, will pay back this loan by paying $508.00 on Monday the 28th of March 2011. The balance would be discussed with Jeffery Morgan after the first payment.
