Received call from 866-719-2501, did not leave message

I, too, received a call from 866-719-2501.  Other than what I found by searching the number online, where (at least) one person reported that it is a number from Tampa, FL, I don't know where it originated.  However, the person did not leave a message.  If it is from the Tampa area, then it may be related to the same person who called me a few months ago, who then called using a Tampa area code.  He was a known fraud, and when I called him on it (after having received a bunch of calls from him), he used some foul language and said that he knows where I live (which he did indeed, for he had already verified my address at the beginning of the conversation).  Nothing came of it, though I came close to filing a police report, both with my local county sheriff as well as with Tampa police.  Anyway, hopefully we can get more info on this number and if it is related to devious activity, try to put those responsible behind bars.

received one call 0n 11/19/2007 from 866-719-2501.When I ansewered I received a recording saying, " Thank you for your call."

Received a call same as the previous post, on 11/20/07 at 10:37 AM.

On 11/21/2007 I receive a recorded call that said, "thank you for your call" Then the recording said something else that I couldn't understand and then it cut off back to dialing tone of phone. I hate these calls. It was from this number on caller ID 866 719 2501.

do you know who this was, and where the call came from

He asked for my boyfriend and i told him he was at work and he said his name was reggie.....other than that nothing else was said

It showed up on the caller i.d. of my cell phone so I googled it to see what I could find.  I want to know how this person got my number and how to stop the calls.

Received a call from this number on 2007-11-27 at 10:11am CST.

Dead silent.  I disconnected after 10 seconds.

I just got a call from them. A machine answered then hung up. I know it's Telecom Marketing because they called me earlier with another number. It's really a pointless to call people just to hang up.

I just called this number back and actually talked to a live person. They said they were Cox Communications. They wanted my name and personal information. I wouldn't give them anything. It sounds like a scam.

This is [***]. I just got a call from this number. He said he was from Cox, said he could give me a great deal. I even went through several details about the offer. I told him to call back another time. I then googled his number and found this. I'm prety freaked out about the whole thing. I called him back and accused him and hung up. Said he was Sylvester...

Just got a call myself - didn't bother to answer it, and they left no message.  If it is indeed Cox, I'm sure now its going to be "gee, you already have our high-speed internet access, and our digital cable... how about digital phone service?"

got a call today, got the "thank you for your call" and then the hangup like many other people here. No idea what that was all about.

I just got a call from it on Nov. 30 at 10:35am.  I called them back, it rang for a long time, and then someone answered saying "Thank you for callign Cox, this is Michelle, how man I help you?"  I hung up.

I just got the same thing from 866-719-2501, Unavailable name, a few minutes ago (Dec 4, 2007, 1:16 p.m. CST). I let it ring 5 times before answering because I normally don't answer unavailables when I don't recognize the number, but am expecting a business call and thought it might be them. Dead line when I answered so I hung up.

But I have Cox cable and internet and have gotten many calls and letters from them wanting me to take their phone deal also. The salesman was insulting in tone so I was rude back.

If this really is Cox, I'm pissed. It's harrassment, in my view, to call your customers and then not talk to them.
