Rubi I got the same letter asking for proof of payments from 2004. They know no one keeps utility bills that long.  I think it's a way of denying some claims.  I don't even keep telephone bills and statements that long.

I received $206.00 for MCI, and the City of Long Beach. I also received a letter stating that I would have to submit hard copies of the bills to from the other companies, ( Verizon, Edison, Gas Co. ,etc.) from 2004 to 2008. I sent them today, so i will write an update when I get a response.

They received a settelment in the amount of $65 million.   They know exactlley how much we were overcharged now they want a copy of our bills. This is just a scam for the attorneys to keep our money.

I was wondering about this, so I googled to see if anyone else was in the same boat as me. I filled out the paperwork awhile ago, I think April or May and listed all my accounts like (Verizon, Gas Co. Edison, etc) I received a denial letter last week stating they couldn't determine if I had paid into the UTT. A couple days ago received a small check towards the Verizon portion. I was asked in the denial letter to submit proof of accounts. I was thinking, really? I am usually good about saving things in case this happens, but just recently decided it was several years ago why keep it? and I do remember signing that I release them to be able to get account info from the companies, so why they are asking me makes no sense. A co-worker of mine got a denial letter and the next day a check for $460 without sending anything in. So, it is really weird. I am still waiting to see if a check will be here for me. I don't wanna go through the hassle of trying to get past bill info if it won't be worth my time and it is kindof scary.

Does anyone know what you are supposed to do if the utility company will only provide you with 2 years of bill payment history? So Cal will only go back 3 years which is only 2007. AT & T goes back less than that. They said they will have to charge me $5 a copy of each bill to go back further. What are we supposed to do?

Frustrating! They are only giving me until August 14 to come up with the bills. Wow, I haven't checked with the bill companies but $5 per bill? that is crazy. Then it would be pointless anyways. Anyone have any new info?

I received one check for payment of one utility company. However my husband and I received separate letters stating we had to provide documentation from the utility companies. I sent a request to the utility companies listed and I never got a response. Also attempted to contact both counsel's listed in the suit and they were of no help. They informed me I waited too long. I have been attempting to get assistance ever since I received the letter. You can bet the attorneys were paid handsomely. I tried but could not even get an extension.  I had 45 days to respond and have tried everything possible to get assistance. If someone else out there experiencing the same situation was able to get assistance, please let me know. I have until tomorrow.

    Thank you.

I agree with you especially when I was told by counsel I've waited too late to respond. As u can see from my previous post, I have tried to get copies of the bills and contact counsel to see if I could get an extension.

I also received a check from my Charter account. It seems that Charter is one of the few utility companies that verified the information.
