- Recipient of CallThey call asking for someone with the last name of Fernandez. Who the heck is that? Totally unfamiliar with whomever they are looking for. Have received the call that you describe plus several other "up front/preliminary" calls. The person that they reference in the calls is totally unknown to us. It's like they have a wrong number. Cooper, Hoffman and Klein are evidently part of some organized crime group. as is Rothstein Acquisitions. Just ignore the calls, let the calls go to voice mail then simply erase them. Under no circumstances do you contact these criminals.
- Caller: Rothstein Acquisitions/Cooper, Hoffman, Klein
- Call type: Prank
- Iris WestI got a phone call from a supposed Jason Reed of a supposed Cooper Hoffman law firm looking for some guy I've never heard of. When I called back to tell them they had misdialed or had a wrong number the guy asked me to hold and hung up. There is no Cooper Hoffman in existence according to a simple internet search.

I can find no registration under the name Cooper, et. Al which would preclude them from conducting business in any state.

http://badfinance.org/review/1519404/cooper-h ... debt-collection
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

- Another Payloan victim replies to Juno| 1 replyI myself am having this same problem, a payday loan had been taken out for my soon to be ex husband about 3 years ago and now I am left to deal with cooper Hoffman Klein as the original account had to be closed due to his continuously over drafting it, is there anything I can do to counter act this? As I cannot afford the amount they are asking of me as I am a single mother of two and their father(the soon to be ex) does not offer much help by any means I also work a job where at the moment I get less than 20 hours per week which doesn't cover much let alone pay back loans
- Gunnar replies to Another Payloan victimYou had better take the time to read through the rest of this thread. You will soon see that it's more than obvious that your caller is a SCAMMER! This outfit is exposed here right down to its skivvies!
Ignore them. If you do take another call from the degenerates DEMAND a notice of validation be delivered to you BY MAIL! As per federal regulation under the FDCPA. I'd say it's a safe bet that this outfit is NOT going to be putting anything in writing & putting it in the mail. Mail fraud carries a bite that even these fools aren't stupid enough to mess with!
Be Safe. Be Aware.
