Information about Jeep recall.

Not sure what to think. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize & if they don't leave a message then I figure it's not that important. I did get info about the recall & haven't had it done yet so it is possible but why would they use a apparently spoofed number? Why wouldn't they just make it obvious who they are if they are legit? Weird all the way around. I'm just going to get the repairs done & not worry about it. If they continue to call after that then I'll know they are scammers & I'll report them.;

Called it back... on hold for like 3 minutes then a very short and rude woman answering wanting my VIN numbers... Thanks but no thanks... Ill call my local dealer for recall info

Called a cell number I didn't have 25 yrs ago when I did own a jeep.  Didn't even own a cell then. Definately a scam.

I have never owned a Jeep, so am thinking someone is spoofing the number, and that it is some type of scam.

These idiots called me as well.  I don't own or never have owned a Jeep Liberty. Caller ID showed "Toll Free Caller".  If this was Chrysler/Jeep, they would have had the balls to display their proper name.  Probably another telemarketer scam to collect phone numbers which they feel gives them implied consent to call/annoy people.  Going on call block.

It's the Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee recall number. I spoke to the guy but I sold my Grand Cherokee back in August. They still had me as owner. But it is a valid number. The guy promised to take me off the calling list.

This is a legit call.  They had may name/info based on my phone number, they verified the last part of my VIN # on my 2005 Jeep, asking about the factory recall on the fuel tank.   They did not ask for any personal info, instead, they verified all of the information to me.

This is a legit call.  Owners of Jeep Liberty knows there was a problem with getting the part (trailer hitch).  It's been a couple of years of waiting.  Did ask for VIN, but used my address to verify ownership instead.  I never gave out info.  Number was incorrectly blocked by  Nomo****.  Will send report to correct.

I am suspicious about this call.  Yes they leave a message about the Jeep Grand Cherokee fuel tank recall, which is a legitimate recall.  I had a 96 Grand Cherokee but it was sold for scrape about 3 years ago and the state motor vehicle division in my state was notified that I was no longer the owner.  SO, why am I getting this call.  The manufacturer would only know I was the owner at the time by checking state motor vehicle records.  I had bought the Jeep used.  And I know of no vehicle manufacturer who actually calls people to inform them of recalls.  Just send notice in mail.

I receive a recored call this am stating me that my car was a recall 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee for gas tank problem ,i do not wish to get this call again it sound like it may be a scam.Jee

Well a web search does show gas delivery recalls but they happened years ago.  I don't know when you purchased the vehicle, but the previous owners might not have taken care of the recall.  The simple solution is to call the local Jeep dealer and ask them.  While the call may be a rouse to get information from you, it is extremely easy to verify with one phone call by looking up the Jeep dealership number.  Do you really want to take a chance on something like that?

I own a Jeep Liberty and the recall was announced several years ago, but the parts have only now become available.  Chrysler is pushing hard to get consumers to have the work performed now.  But if you are unsure about the caller, it never hurts  to verify with a reliable source (like a dealer).  It's hard to trust any one over the phone.

Received this call today 4/6/15 at 0954 on cell. Did not answer. Jeep recall according to voice mail left.

Everyone is saying Jeep Liberty recall. I don't own one and never have. And they don't leave a message ever.

Several calls at odd times (7am), no message. I'm believing the earlier posts about legit Jeep recall are also a scam. I, nor anyone in my family, has ever owned a Jeep.
