I get a lot of calls from this about the Jeep recall...

But I am not, and never have been, a Jeep owner.

    Not a Jeep Owner
Calling about a jeep recall.  They say to take jeep to dealer or call hotline and provide VIN.  I never had a jeep and most would not still have a 20 year old jeep.  No option to say I never owned a jeep or no longer own a jeep.  The annoying messages continue with no way to stop them.  Gee if this kind of thought goes into a Jeep maybe I'll buy one.  NOT!!

SCAM SCAM SCAM, because A, we haven't had a Jeep since around 1989, and B, the "recall" wasn't for the year or model we owned (think they said 1998ish Grand Cherokee).

To all Jeep owners out there, please be aware there is a scam going on!
You might have received a call from "Jeep Revolution Team" phone #1-866-814-1480 claiming there is a part on recall for your vehicle such as "fuel tank" in case of a collision. It then asks you visit www.myjeepauto.com and to have your V(vehicle) I(identification) N(number) ready. DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!! I just got off the phone with my local Jeep Dealership, they had no clue about it. By law you are supposed to receive a card in the mail IF & WHEN there truly is a recall ALWAYS. Apparently your VIN # is used to do new plates that are then put on stolen vehicles.

Keep getting calls from them.  I do own a Jeep Liberty, but it already has the hitch.  I checked out the website they give and looked at the source code.  The submit button sends the info and presumably the user to https://expresslandingpages.com/Default.aspx? ... erchID=&p5=">

It uses an iframe which is notorious for hacking - not always, but a lot.  Express landing pages is a company that lets people use code on their servers.

I don't know what the scam could be but I'm staying away from it.  If you want to check out Jeep recalls go to the actual Chrysler Jeep website http://www.jeep.com/webselfservice/jeep/Recall.html

This is NOT a legitimate Jeep phone number, per Jeep customer service. All who are seriously upset because they are receiving calls from this number need to get on line and file a complaint with the Federal Communications Co. (FCC) These scammers need to be stopped & the more complaints that the FCC gets, the better for us all.

    Never owned a Jeep
I DO NOT nor have I EVER Owned a Jeep. I DO NOT nor have I EVER owned a Chrysler vehicle. No one at this number has owned a Jeep since chrysler bought jeep. I've had this number for almost 40 years. Never even had a Jeep pull into the driveway. Yet, these clowns repeatedly call me with their robocall  "YOUR JEEP'S AL QUEDA AND GONNA BLOW EVERY BODY UP" garbage and won't stop. every damn day, non stop.

I got a message from these guys about a recall on the gas tank of my 97 Grand Cherokee. There IS a recall going on, and they gave me a website to go to or also said I could just contact my local jeep dealer. If they were scamming me, I don't think they'd say that.

For those of you who are skeptical:  "Gee I don't own a jeep" doesn't automatically translate to "OMG its a scam!". They could be making a mistake in the number, etc. Someone who once owned a jeep may have had your number before you did, etc. Insurance companies (who have a lot to gain by these tanks getting fixed) may be sharing your phone numbers with Jeep for purposes of the recall, etc.

Jeep has been under enormous pressure from federal regulators to get this recall done, and they've been delayed by lack of parts, etc.

For me, I'm glad they're trying so hard to get a hold of me about safety recall. I got a letter too the other day. I'm sure Jeep/FCA is just trying to get this liability off their books.

There is a jeep recall. They will install a trailer hitch in the back of your vehicle because if a fuel tank problem. It's not a scam. I own a jeep and i did receive a postal card from jeep regarding this matter.

I blocked calls from this number. I DO own a Jeep.  My Jeep has the factory equipment trailer hitch with Jeep wiring connection.  The hitch is solidly welded into the frame. I have no reason, therefore, to take the car in to the dealer.  But, the dealer says I can't be taken off the list unless I bring it to the dealer.  Phone number blocked!

I used to actually own the jeep they called about, but I no longer own that car. The caller was very nice and polite and said they would list us as no longer the owner.

I received a "Customer satisfaction notification" in the mail about a Jeep trailer hitch problem. It referenced the web site www.myjeepauto.com as well as the phone number in question. I went to the Jeep recalls website as you suggested, put in my vin number and it showed the trailer hitch campaign as valid so I think this is in fact a valid phone number/web site, not a scam.
