Keep getting recorded calls about important information that needs to be resolved. They state they are a collection agency.

I contacted them and they had the wrong name but insisted that it was my debt. I asked them to mail me information to varify this debt. They asked for my current information and I refused as I did not feel this was a legitimate company. I ask them to stop contacting me via the phone and they continue to call 3 - 8 times per day with a recording.

They are leaving me a message daily. It is really annoying and unsettling. I have no debts whatsoever. I have never completed any transactions with Canada. One time I tried to press a one and nothing happened, probably because I don't carry long distance and only use calling cards. I called the number, then they said no one was available and an answering machine came on.
They wanted me to leave a detailed message- I know better and hung up. I never spoke with anyone, I just get that message with the loud muffled noise in the background. When you call, they offer options to press a * and another number- DO NOT DO THIS. I heard that if you press *90, the other caller can make long distance calls from your number.  This is clearly a SCAM. Do not call or talk with anyone. I am curious how long people have been getting these calls and what we can do to stop it. I am unable to block calls from my
phone and do not have any fancy phone options- just a very basic phone package.

Call from 866-840-1377 "Unknown".

Left a message to return her call at the same number that she/he/it called from asap and that ".. this is not a matter to be ignored..."  I'm not calling it after having read the things here.

There are 4 people that call me by the names, Debbie, Brock, Matt, Lindsy. Lindsy is the argumentative one of the bunch i don't know who told this woman she was tough but she goes for bad and will run her mouth, I don't hit women but for her i would make an exception and stomp her. She also calls me like 12:00 am at night from a cell phone that i can't block. There other number is 1-866-255-6987

These canadian jerks are thugs- ignore them. Better yet call your Consumer Protection Agency or even Interpol.

I got an automated message threatening me to call them back.  I wrote down the number, Googled it, and ended up here.  They also have called and when I picked up they hung up on me immediately.  I went to https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$solcq.actionview to post my complaint.

to tralk to robert will not say why they just called at 8:30 i have to get up at 4:30 am and i am tired of these phone calls they informed me that they will call anytime they please and nobody can stop them.

My mother received a recorded message saying this was an urgent matter and directing her to call 1-866-840-1377.

I called, was put on hold, directed to audix, and told the voice mail box was full.

I hung up, called again, and a representative answered.

I explained why I called and gave my mom's number.  The representative said they were looking for a Pamela Higgins.  I told him our name, said we have never heard of Pamela Higgins, and he said thank you and hung up.

Mom will let me know if she receives any more calls.

Caller id said (905) something. The voice mail, like those above me stated, said, "Please call 866 840 1377 for important Information. This message is not to be ignored". The phone line they called is the main phone number for my company, not an individuals. Seems fishy.

I got the same thing as all of the above.  I get multiple messages on my answering machine each day.  I have not returned the call.  I would just like to know how to make them stop.  Any advice is appreciated.

I've been receiving calls from this number for several months now. I never answer calls from numbers I am not familiar with, so sometimes they leave a message and others they don't. It's getting incredibly annoying...

Today I read an email saying that the number for the national do not call list is 888-382-1222; I have already called them and the number is legitimate. The email states that, in 9 days, all cell phone numbers will be released to telemarketers and we will start getting calls, and also that these calls will cost us money. After registering your number, most telemarketers should stop calling your number within 31 days, and if not, a complaint can be filed against them (also according to the email).

Hopefully this number is one of the ones that can be blocked after registering your number. I encourage all of you to do the same.

These people will not stop calling...AND I CANT BELIEVE WHAT I SAW ON THIS SITE...I never answer the phone, and I always check supsicious numbers via the net...and low and behold, plenty of proof behind my not answering the phone...I'll make sure not to answer it.  My husband does and yells at them.  I will spread the word!

They either leave a message with a stern voice saying "YOU HAVE NOT RETURNED MY CALLS ABOUT AN IMPORTANT MATTER" and then give the number 866-840-1377; or they have a recording on when I answer saying the same thing.  I just hang up.  How can I stop this?

Haha! Just got another call from them this morning, but the recording this time was a man. Got the same spiel at the start, but the last part said "This call is not from Canada, a debt collection agency". Keep trying guys, keep trying.

They have been leaving me messages for about 3 months, usually daily. These are the same messages everyone is describing on this site. First it was a man on the message, then a woman on the message, and it switched back to the man message minus the muffle and loud noise at the beginning. Nice to know they cleaned it up (Ha, ha). I have made a formal online complaint with the National Consumer Protection Agency as well as a complaint to the Do Not Call list online. This was over a month ago nothing happened yet.

My advice is make a complaint to the National Consumer Protection Agency and also your state government (they usually have a website too). My theory is that they are fishing for any I.D. information to use or steal, so I would not talk to them or provide any info, not even your own name or anyone in your household. I wish you the best.

No messsage other than "Return Call or Press 1" from yet another recording!

I have been getting calls from these people for about 3 months daily sometimes up to 4 times a day.  I've never answered the call and they always leave the same message.  That this is an urgent matter and that I must call immediately and speak with one of their representatives.  I have no dealings in Canada.  There has to be something that can be done to stop this harassment.  Has anyone else had any luck getting these folks to stop?  I would sure like to know how you did it.

Not only is 1-866-840-1377 a problem number (323)404-8579 is also a problem he calls all the time what a pest (323)404-8579 .

Denver that lady would have to be crazy to play on phones knowing caller id is available, what a idiot with to much time on her hands. As far as the 1-866-840-1377 number if you call them back and demand to speak to someone in charge they tend to never call you back.

they call constantly, asking for my sister-in-law, who we never see or talk to (she certainly doesn't live with us), we keep telling them that we do not have her contact information (we do not keep in touch), and to stop calling us (is it necessary to phone at 7am on a saturday???), but they will not stop, they're relentless!
