Process server 'April Evans"  claims to be representing a company with a complaint against me.  Claims that if I do not contact the company then she will be serving me with papers either at my home or work.  Said she would be in my area and that she would drop off the papers.   Claims that once the papers are delivered then I will be at the next level of the complaint.  Strongly urged me to contact the company.  

Here's where it gets interesting.  She never told me the name of the company. Since when do process servers call in advance?? Thought the whole element of surprise was part of the process server mystique!

Very polite person called to tell me I had a complaint against me. I needed to call and resolve the complaint. Told me if I resolved the complaint to contact him back and let him no so that he didn't move forward with serving me papers....never left me a number to reach him back at. Pretty sure it's a scam. I don't owe anyone, anything. Filed bankruptcy in 2009, and have lived on cash ever since...

Exact same message left as Becky's post except this was "Stacy".  Fact is process servers dont notify people to process.  Secondly to impersonate a process server is a crime.  A process server is an official of some form of government and impersonating any government official is a criminal offense.  I will be filing criminal charges against the people of this company for this.

9/29/11  12:30 noon I received the similar  message as all above by April Evans claiming to be an Independent Processor.  Only my message states that a person has filed a compliant
against me and she will go to my employment to serve the papers.
In reading all the above I will now ignore her calls.  Interesting though; I did process a
screen not to accept unknown calls.  
NOTE: I also will be filing criminal charges with the Attorney General's Ofc.

The phone number he is calling from is 1-866-840-5741.

Contact your Phone Carrier  and explain scam/harassment.
Co.  will "block" the 10 digit phone number up to 3 months; then you need to
continue procedure [if you wish] for another 90 days.
NOTE: this procedure applies to any phone number you wish to stop...

I received a call from this numbe claiming I owe a loan from 2009 for a bank account I don't have!  I have banked with my institution for years.  I asked for details and they made it sound like I was lying.  I asked them to mail me documentation and they claimed they can't.  It is a scam.  I know the FCRA and Consumer debt protection rules.  Making a claim of legal service and not completing it is fraud.  I recorded the call and plan to file a charge.  I hope everyone else does the same.  Do not accept this harassment.  They are not following Federal guidelines.  Call 803-675-5213 if you want to speak to the 'manager' or go on Craigslist and look in Columbia, SC and you can see the job post yourself.  They aren't legal advisors or process servers..they are simply collectors being paid an hourly rate of $10-17 an hour.  Don't be fooled!  Get all details, record call and file complaint.  They are frauds.

PLease go to the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint.  Someone needs to address the illegal collection practices and fraud/scam they are doing  here is their link and details of the business

Call from an independant processor named Michelle Taylor who gave me this same number 1-866-840-5741 and even gave me a file number. This person called me just to get ahold of my sister which I thought was strange. I am going to file a complaint against this company.

I received the same call at work as tired did. From Amy Wise.  She gave me a reference number also, F22701

Got a messege from Crystal Grain saying that she is a independent prosser and someone filed a complant against me and she will be in my area to deliver doctuments she strongly urged me to call she didnt say what company she was with. She also give me a referance number F220548

I got the same message from some lady, I told her I never heard of a process server calling to give a phone number.  I asked her who the company was she said she didn't know a lot of companies call her.

I just received the same call from April Evans today.  I called the number I was told to contact and it said to "please hold for the legal department"  I hung up and 15 minutes later some man called listing the same reference number, but a different phone number 803-675-5205.  Has anyone been served papers or had anything happen?
