I received a call as well, same story.  Called the number back, and they said they were closed, but 15 mins later a guy called me back with a message saying to call 803-675-5205.

Are you going to report this as a scam?  I'm just hoping it is not legit and there are no papers served to me anywhere.

Someone left the same message for me on my work phone once about a month ago then today again. She said her name was Crystal Green. She also called me by my maiden name now remarried 2 years.

I received the very same thing just now.  She told me to call the 1-866-840-5741 right away so she won't have to deliver papers.  So I called the number and it went to a recording.  I just got a call back from a local number.  They said they are collecting for a debt I had back in 2007.  What?  I told her I don't know what she is talking about and I will wait for the papers to be served. She said you need to be aware that no settlement will be offered at that point and explained all these fees.  I said fine.  I will wait for the papers.

Got the same message and work I for a law firm.  My attorney listened to it and advised they are breaknig the law.  I know for a fact this is a bill collector as they have tried to trick me in the past but said they were from a law firm.  Turns out the law firm was a bill collector and when I called back the name of the agency they gave me they were using the company's name without their permission.  I have tried several times for them to send the paperwork to me with no avail.  I found out I owed money to someone (still not really sure who) when they called claiming they were an attorney's office.  I have asked and still have not received by mail the paperwork for this debt that I supposedly owe.  It is all a scam and this collection agency/bill collector/proces server/attorney's office is using fraudulent methods that are against the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  The way they are getting around it is by saying they are process servers or an attorney's office but ask them for the name of the company the work for and they will not tell you, hung up or give a fictious name.  They are walking a fine line

I just received a call from the same # 866-840-5741 while at work. The person name Crystal Green claims she does not know who filed the complaint and just gave me a reference #. Months ago, this same person called me at work while I was out of office and left a voicemail saying if I didn't respond I would be served. Well I didn't respond and didn't hear anything about it again until today. They don't have my direct # so each time they call they are being transferred to me by reception which is embarrassing. Does anyone know the best method to get them to stop calling?

I have recieved calls several times leaving the 866-840-5741 as a return number.  They have used the name April and Stephanie.  They give a file number and tell me there is a complaint against me and that papers will be served.  They do not give a company name or even really what the call is in regaurds to.

I received an unavailable call today.  Ends up it was Stacy Davis, supposedly an independent processor.  She stated that a company has a complaint about me and she had sealed documents she would be delivering to me in the next couple of days either at my home or work.  I asked her if she was with the County Attorney's office and she stated no that she is an independent processor.  I told her the only processors I knew of worked for the government and usually either with the county attorney's office or at the court house.  She told me I needed to contact the company at this number 1-866-840-5741 and give them the case number she gave me.  I asked her for the name of the company and she stated she didn't know and if I wanted more info I needed to call that number.  She said that if I didn't contact them, then when she served me the sealed documents my case would be considered escalated to the next level.  I asked why she called me blocked and she stated that there is no need for her clients to have her number.  I told her I had blocked the number she gave me to call from my phone as I have no accounts with them and they were harrasing me.  Stacy stated she isn't with that company so it's perfectly legal for her to call me and then hung up.

I tried to call the number because I wanted to find out who the company is.  I was on hold for over an hour and all the message kept repeating was, "Thank you for holding.  The collections department will be with you momentarily."  I finally got angry and hung up.  Now I'm in the process of blasting on every site I can about this fraudulent company and have already contacted the Iowa Attorney Generals Office about it as well.

I recieved the same mesage, from Stacy Davis.  She left a file#, & said I needed to contact the "party" at 866-840-5741.  Said if I don't respond, she is scheduled to deliver documents to my home or work.
I got the same type of call 2 weeks ago from a different #, & when my attroney called them back, & found out is was a scam, they haven't called back.  Guess I'll direct this company to my attorney as well. . . .


P.S. - I just signed up recently for Legal Shield (used to be Pre-Paid Legal), & they can handle all of these scumbags, & get them to quit calling.  It only runs about $20 a month, so it's worth it just to stop these illegal, harassing "processors"!!

Her message said to call 866-840-5741 and give them a file number.  She ended the call with good luck.  When I called the telephone number, there was an automated message that said "Thank you for calling the legal department."  When a person came on the line, they said that they are First American and the deal with many types of cases.  I don't know if this is a scam or a valid call but if I owe a debt, I would think I would receive a call from the company the debt is owed to as well as mail.  Haven't received any such thing.

A month ago process server was April Evans, today she is Michelle Taylor. Really, if you are going to call me using a different name have the brains to disguise your voice! Sheesh!

Just received a call from a Stacy Davis and was relieved to see that it is indeed a scam as i was wondering if it had something to do with my ex husband.

What's funny, is that I called 866-840-5741 and an auto prompt answered 'Thank-you for calling legal department, please hold for next available representative'. (There was no 'the' before legal, so the company name must be 'legal department')....and then my call was disconnected while on hold. Awesome.

I was told by a co-worker that there is a scam going around where people pretend to be bill collectors, and get  you to sign up for a payment plan on a bill to avoid garnishment. As soon as you give your bank details, they drain your account and you never hear from them again. They're not actually bill collectors?  This is why I called, I wanted to see what they would say I owed...as again, I filed bankruptcy in '09 and live on cash...

I just got a phone call from an Amy Wise telling me to contact the same number, with a File number F22526.  Looks like it is just another scam trying to get money.  I may call from an unlisted number to see what the name of the company is she wants us to call...she never did identify it.  I remember having my son's father try to take me to court...the process server did not call first, just showed up at my work.

I got the same exact message, so it must e a scam because she said before she would be in the area to srve me at work about six months ago still havent gotten served.
