They left a message saying that they are will "Insurance Services" wanting to verify insurance coverage on a vehicle I am financing.  They did know the company I was financing through though, does anyone know what this is?  Is it legit?

They called me via this # claiming to be from my finance company to verify if i had ins on  the car i bought.

I got a voicemail from this number stating the same as others on here have, wanting to verify insurance coverage on behalf of my finance company. Are these people legit? I'm curious as to why my finance company would go through a third party for that info instead of handling that directly. Makes me suspicious.

Called several times and didn't leave messages. Each time I have called back I get a recording saying they have left me a detailed message about instructions, etc, only they never leave a message or return phone number. Who are these guys?

When you finance a vehicle, the bank requires that you have comprehensive & collision coverage to protect the bank's interest. Some banks (if they do not have proof of the coverage) will place a policy to cover the vehicle and add the charges to your loan payments (hence lender placed policy). If you receive calls, it sounds like they just need to update your insurance information (insurance company name, policy number, effective dates, comp & coll deductibles, and verification of the bank being listed on the policy as loss payee or lienholder). That needs to be updated to avoid the bank's charges.

As to why they use a 3rd party company? You may want to contact the bank.

Just sounds like they need to confirm your insurance, not a sales call.

Got a call on my cell.  Have not bought a car and if I had I would not be giving my personal info to someone I do not know.

This is a legit call. It is from a company verifying insurance coverage either on a car or residence. They left a message stating that the insurance coverage on my home had been received and I needed to take no further action.

I really believe this is a scam of sorts. I have no car or house and am in the insurance business. Scam scam scam. What they are after I do not know, but I'd be careful with these people.

It was a wrong number for me, but they are a company retained by Pennymack among other companies to make sure the insurance is kept up the collateral.

Sprint Relay Service is a statewide service that connects standard (voice) telephone users with deaf. I copied the message from the caller. See below. It could be an identify and track telemarketers, collection agencies, politicans, surveyors, scammers, and more.

As others stated, claim to be from a company verifying insurance due to a car loan.  Claimed to be working for "The insurance center" about a car loan through Wells Fargo.  I have a car loan, but not through wells fargo.  SCAM.

Just like others, they called repeatedly around 5 a.m., 5 days in a row, saying they were with an Insurance Service Center and wanted to confirm coverage on a vehicle I had financed. Great, but hadn't financed a vehicle with Wells Fargo, and even if I did, sure wouldn't talk to anyone about it over the phone! And not at 5 a.m. Jerks.
