Anyone who calls and asks you for the address and loan number is not legit!   SCAM! do not answer  any questions they ask. They should only be talking to an insurance co not the client to verify coverage.

Just leaving this for future peoples; this is Bank of America. They called me to verify flood insurance but I’m sure it varies a bit. This is not to my knowledge a telemarketer.

Why would you look up a known phone number?  And why wouldn't you give the actual name of this "mortgage/loan company" if you came here to be helpful? Persoanlly, I think you're a shill.

There seem to have been a lot of shills visiting this thread.  I find it interesting that (according to the shills) this number belongs to both Wells Fargo AND Bank of America (I never heard of their merger, I thought they were still competitors).  And yet other shills have claimed that this "Insurance Services" (the name is strangely similar to "Card Member Services", a known scam outfit) is a third party company that works for the "small" banks and lenders that cannot do these services for themselves, like the "big" banks can.  (Apparently then, Wells Fargo and BoA are not "big" banks.)

Kat's post above hits the nail squarely on the head for the two red flags that all these shills have in common:
    1) If they know what company is calling, why do they never post the company's REAL name?
    and more importantly,
    2) If they had truly been called and knew who called them, why would they even need to look up the number, much less post here?  When normal people get a call from a company they know, regardless of what problem may have been solved or what great deal they may have obtained, do not say to themselves "Wow, I have got to go to all the phone number lookup sites and tell people what a valid number this is."  No, normal people do not do this.  However, Shills will think "If I go to all the phone number lookup sites and post that this is a valid number for whatever company we are posing as, then some people will see that and be more susceptible to our scam."  Unfortunately for some people this might be true if they get to a number thread early, before others start posting warnings about the scam.  For this thread the warning posts far outnumber the shill posts.

To the people who are receiving these calls:  If you have recently taken out a loan for a car or house, call your lender to see if there really is a problem with the documentation for your loan.  Do not give such information to some third-party that called you up out of the blue.  They could be legitimate, but more likely they are not.  And, even if they are legitimately working for the lender, they are just one more place your information could be leaked from.

Caller from Service MACK wanted us to give information about a new Mortgage Loan of one of our insurance customers.  Caller could not give us any information about the Mortgagee clause from the closing.  It looks like someone is harvesting refinance Mortgage info and breaking PRIVACY laws to get customers personal information.  We said NO to sharing information because we do not believe you are legitimate Mortgage service person!
