Got the same message, verbatim. If it was the IRS they would have identified themselves as such. Not surprised to hear it's a scam. I don't owe any back taxes!

yes! I got the exact same message from this phone number. I knew it was a scam right away.

Right! I don't owe any back taxes either I knew it was a scam right away. Hopefully it doesn't fool someone that does owe. These people are a little slow this is 2021 your number is always reported as a scam immediately. All anyone has to do is Google the phone number. Works for me every time.

I have gotten the same exact message including the “um” That has been noted here on that site. Thanks for the heads up.

A woman called and left a message. I'm not sure if it was prerecorded or not, but believe that it was. I have received a similar message a couple months ago. It's definitely a scam. I encourage everyone to search "scamming a scammer". It's hilarious!!

I am receiving the same call/message too. Its ridiculous. I've even had someone spoof the power company. When you call them its automated just like the real power company. They call and tell you that your service will be disconnected in 30 minutes unless you pay. I told them how do you disconnect an account with a zero balance. I was told to hold and then they hung up. Something has to be done! Why is it so easy for ppl to spoof numbers and better yet, easy to get account info. I received a call from internet provider today. When I questioned legitimacy of call they told me they had to end the call and rattled off the cable providers number. Technology is a gift and a curse.

A person by the name Barbra, has been calling me about a tax debt

Recorded message, um, about help with back taxes. SCAM!

Received a message from Barbara at tax help center wanting to help me clear up a back tax payment due.  I owe NO back taxes!  I tried returning her call to the number she requested...no answer.  I checked the internet referencing the phone number, 866-856-0288....it is a SCAM!!

Same message as above, also from "Barbara" -- interestingly, the voicemail (from a Herndon, VT number) didn't even have a corresponding missed call in my "recent calls" list -- none showed for today at all, which implies it went directly to my voicemail without even trying to actually ring to get me. But yeah, note she doesn't even say the name of who she is trying to reach, just "you" 🙄

Jut got the same call "from Barbara". 100% scam but have to say it was the best recorded message that I have had from scammers...seemed very natural an legit. Be careful!

I received this message “Hey it's Barbara I'm calling you from tax health center um can you just give me a quick call back it's 866-856-0288 regarding your back income tax that I've got some great news for you with some new changes of taking a fact and I just want to discuss your repayment or eliminations options but it's imperative that I speak to you just as soon as possible so I'm gonna give you my number again it's 866-856-0288 and I look forward to hearing from you have a great day…”

Same scammer that calls everyone else called me.

Exact same message-gee I guess guest and I both have the same tax issues!  But Barbara is here to help!

Recd the same message as all above from "Barbara." Who sounds like she is going to go on the date of her life.  Came from 757-681-9829. Portsmith, Virginia.  We all know they can plug in and call any of us from whatever country. This needs to be stopped.
